Grand ol' Wayford, the glimmering city. Feel the hopes and dreams drift in the air and fly up, spreading cheer. Ah, that wonderful smell was the smell o success. You may have finally gotten away from those shrine people for good now. Now, all you had to do was keep your cool and stay unseen.

Well, that was probably easier said than done. As you were browsing the city, staring at the glistening white buildings, you had acciedntally bumped into a guy. Both of you felt the blow although he seemed to be less effected. Immediately, the guy shoved you back, anger screwing up his features. "Watch it, punk," he growled, shoving you back again.

His two cohorts, as there was no other word for them, glared down at you through thick sunglasses. The one you had bumped into seemed slightly uncontrollable and immediately noticed the PokeBall at your waist. "Punk gotta punk Pokémon? How 'bout a fight?"

Without your consent, his ball flashed open, revealing a frightening Poochyena. The creature snarled loudly, fangs bared in a feral grin. It looked ready to fight, whether you wanted to or not. You could always try to run away, if you wanted to. But I doubt you'd be able to outrun the three guys and the hyena.

Yuki was taken aback by the size of the city he was in. The shrine was the only place he had ever been before he ran away. He loved being free of the etiquette he was expected to uphold while in the Shrine grounds. Swablu loved being out of the cave as much as Yuki loved being out of the shrine. Everything was great until he ran into some unexpected thugs.

Being forced back wasn't pleasant for Yuki. The three thugs seemed to really be mad for a little tap. Brushing his clothes off, Yuki regained his composure and was ready to walk off. That is until the thugs released their rabid dog for a battle.

Looking down in disgust, Yuki did like battles. He didn't like forcing his friends to fight and get hurt for his sake, though there didn't seem to be any other way out of this. Reaching down, Yuki undid one of his Pokeballs and tossed it up without a word. The ball popped open and his Swablu flew out.

The bird was happy to be free of its prison and came down to land on Yuki's shoulder. "Get ready buddy. We have to fight." Swablu's soft cloud like feathers felt like pillows on Yuki's neck. He knew that they were going to get damaged in this fight. They may even lose some of their softness.

"Swablu stay out of range. Use a Gust to knock the dog off balance and then Agility to get in close. Use the speed up to dodge any counter attack it may try. Once you see an opening hit it with Dragon Rush! If you can't then use the speed gained from Agility to get away and fly off so that you are out of range again." Yuki waited for the enemies to respond to his actions. They probably didn't expect him to fight back.

The guy that you had "tapped" burst out laughing when he saw your little Swablu. "So the punk has a cutesy wittle baby Pokémon?" he mocked, while his brainless buddies stood laughing behind him. "Umbros, use Howl to intimidate the bird, and then when it rushes at you, return the hit with a Tackle!"

Luckily for you, the ferocious Poochyena's Howl was interrupted when Swablu used a Gust. The puppy was knocked into a nearby wall before he crumpled to the ground. However, the miniature dog was back on his feet in no time, ready for the next phase.

During this time, Swablu had been flying through the air above the battle area at a high speed. Finally building up enough power, the bird nose-dived down towards the Poochyena. As it did so, the bird's body became surrounded with a brilliant green energy: Dragon Rush.

Poochyena took this opportunity to jump up and Tackle your bird. Evne though the puppy sustained damage, the impact from his Tackle was enough to knock your bird off track and sent her spinning into a nearby wall. This was definitely going to test your patience...

Yuki ran over to where his cloudy, cotton-like bird had crashed. It was ok enough to do battle, but Yuki didn't have too many options. The dog will just dodge or counter any physical assult and Swablu's ranged attacks weren't that powerful. Yuki needed to bide his time and find an opening to either strike down the dog or escape. Getting away from these bullies was going to be priority number one.

"Good girl. You're doing great. We just need to reassess the situation. We'll wear the dog down with Gust. Pick up what you can from the ground and launch it at the dog with your wind."

Yuki looked around his area. He was still astounded by the tall buildings. None were as tall as the towers back at the Shrine in Blackthorn, but they were still impressive. The shine off the sides made him squint when he looked at them, but that just gave them their awe. Yuki took a second look at the buildings.

"Swablu use the sun to block the enemy. Fly to where the sun ir right behind you and you are between it and the dog. Once you do launch one more gust and attempt the Dragon Rush, but don't fly too low. When you think your opponent might beable to counter, then change course and attack from a different angle. That will throw them off."

Yuki smiled and patted the top of his bird's head. This was going to be tricky and could potentially hurt his darling Swablu. He just needed to get away from these bullies. The first opening he gets he'll recall Swablu and run at full speed.

Logically, it sounded like a well thought out plan, and, if it worked there would be little in the ways of danger from the opposition depending on where everything was positioned once all was said and done. Swablu shook off the blow and got up, wanting to do nothing more than impress its Trainer by succeeding on his behalf. The bird Pokémon flapped its wings, once, twice, and then began initiating the plan by flying towards the sun.

The opposing Poochyena on the other hand watched carefully, but too carefully. As it traced each and every one of Swablu’s movement’s with its eyes, it looked directly into the sun, causing it to cringe and recoil slightly, shaking its head in desperation to rid itself of the momentary blindness. Swablu was affected too, but not as severely as it merely turned to have its back against the glare. Swablu used gust!

Swablu beat its wings and a small…gust, of wind collided with the foe. Poochyena braced against the attack and knew which way his opponent was going to come from, alas; he yet again looked into the sun. Swablu began its descent gathering speed as it rocketed towards its foe as it used Dragon Rush. Like a shining spear of green light, Swablu connected the hit with the foe, sending it sprawling back into the legs of its owner.

“Worthless mut! Get back up and get that bird!”

Unfortunately, it wasn’t one of those easier-said-than-done moments, as Swablu flew down, faced out and twittered in joy, looking for praise. It heard the attack coming, but it was too late. Poochyena came and knocked Swablu over, swiping at it with it’s claws. The canine Pokémon jumped back and began growling in pain. It was hurt, but so was Swablu.

Do you continue fighting? Or do you continue to fight hoping that things don’t get much worse?

Yuki tried to take in all he could. His Swablu was doing an amazing job at fending off the dog, while in his heart he knew the dog was doing all it could as well. Te way the other trainer treated his Pokémon was disgusting to someone raised to believe friendship and balance can be found by uniting Humans and Pokémon. Yuki learned one lesson today, not everyone he will meet will share his outlook on life, nor treat their Pokémon with the same love and respect that he had been raising his Swablu with.

"Swablu, don't get distracted. You don't need my praise to know I think your doing great. We need to focus on our opponents for now. Praise will come later, win or lose."

Yuki looked at his Swablu. She didn't seem that bad off. At best the Poochyena only grazed her. Swablu having more health than the opponent is good for Yuki. This way the dog is more tired than Swablu. I do feel sorry for the dog an wish I could help it. It was caught by an unsightly trainer and I hope the dog doesn't grow as mean as the trainer is. Yuki said his silent prayer, not knowing if it would be heard. He at least felt as if he needed to try.

"Ok girl, one more time. This time whip up the gust and aim the wind to blow the dog away. If it still stands hit it with a second gust and follow through with a Headbutt."

The attack seemed a little iffy this time around, but Yuki had confidence in his little cloud-like bird. A thought kept running through his mind. She is going to be one majestic Altaria one day. I'm happy I was chosen to be her caretaker. Yuki decided to look to see if there was a clear escape route for him and his beloved Swablu to take. These people don't look as if they take losing lightly and Yuki will need to get out of there as fast as he can if he wins, and if he should lose, then he'd need to get out of there even faster.

Swablu nodded her head before she went back up in the air and got ready to use a Gust attack on the Poochyena. Umbros was so weaken right now from the last attack that he looked at you pitifully. "You worthless dog finish this battle up with a Tackle. Get that weakling bird down on the ground and make sure it won't be able to get up for a while," the leader bully said. Poochyena got angry at the trainers words at calling him a worthless dog and then it heard the words the trainer said about the Swablu. Umbros didn't believe that to be true because no weak bird could do this much damage to him in just a couple of rounds.

He ignored his trainer and let the Gust hit him. He didn't even try to dodge the attack. He was still standing but barely. He looked at you and beg for you to help him out after this battle. Swablu followed your last command and started another Gust and got ready to use Headbutt. She did something new and interesting with the attacks. She went through the Gust and charge in with a Headbutt. Spinning in the Gust which boosted her speed even more and once the Headbutt hit the Poochyena fainted. Swablu gain 50 Exp. in this battle.

The trainer called the Poochyena back in his Pokeball and said, "You are one worthless mutt. I can find a better Pokémon then you." He then toss the Pokeball in the air and let the Poochyena out but instead of a red light surrounding Umbros a blue light did which showed he was release. The three of them looked at you and said, "Your not even worth the trouble." They then walked off leaving the badly hurt Poochyena there in front of you. What will you do? Leave the poor thing there or help him out. Umbros lifted his head weakly and looked at you. This showed that he was still conscious of everything around him.

Yuki watched the battle unfold to his liking. He had failed in finding a way out, but that didn't matter much. His Swablu took his advice about waiting til the very end of battle for praise and attacked with enough force to shake Yuki to his core. He could feel the bird's confidence and anger towards the trainers for abusing their dog in such a way. These feelings were mixed with Yuki's own disgust at the way the Poochyena was treated. Apparently Poochyena didn't like it either.

The first gust hit with the dog not moving to dodge. Why has it given up? The poor thing. Swablu please end it quickly. As his thoughts raced because of the dog's behavior, Swablu did something Yuki didn't even think possible. Swablu used its current speed ups to get ahead of the Second Gust and rode it to increase her Headbutt attack. The dog looked as if it had fainted and Yuki said a silent prayer for the dog. The trainer recalled it and then to Yuki's surprise released it and walked away grumbling and cursing.

Yuki held his breath for a few seconds and waited to see if their leaving was a farce. "Swablu see if they are coming back." The bird rose up above the buildings and started to look around for the men. After confirming they weren't returning Swablu flew back down to her master and chirped.

"Good. Lets tend to this dog now." Yuki bent over the Poochyena examining its wounds. As far as he could tell it was battered and bruised with no open cuts or nasty scrapes. That seems good, but I need to get him to a Pokémon Center. "I'm sorry buddy, but I need to put you in a Pokeball so I can get you to a Pokémon Center without hurting you further."

Yuki pulled out a spare Pokeball and tapped it to the Poochyena's forehead. As soon as the dog was inside he took off running holding the ball shut and praying the do didn't escape before he got to a Pokémon Center. Letting Swablu lead, Yuki navigated his way through buildings and alleyways in hopes of finding a Pokémon Center.

As you try to hurry and get to the Pokémon Center with your trusted Swablu leading the way. You noticed that the sky suddenly grew very dark and showed something like a black void. Out of the black void you saw several green lights that looked like meteors fall down from the void and landed in different places of where you where at. The closes one was in the park that you where walking past as you where heading for the Pokémon Center to heal Umbros. What will you do. Will you investigate or just let it be and take care of Umbros first.

The thing, whatever it was, could still be there when you got back from the Pokémon Center so you can check it out then. The choice is ultamately yours to make. Your Swablu had stop in midflight when the green like meteors fell on the ground. She was shaken by this turn of events and she was shivering from the black void when she looked up and saw it. She quickly returned to you and landed on her shoulder. She moved as close to you as she could while she was on your shoulder. Whatever has happen it surly has spooked your little Swablu badly. You should try to comfort her as you come to your decision. Whatever it might be.

Yuki almost tripped when he saw the sky appear dark for a few minutes. The glowing balls of light flew through the sky and cause Yuki's poor Swablu to panic and land on his shoulder. He had to act fast. Umbros comes first. I need to heal him and then its back to find out the cause of that light.

"The last battle wore out Swablu as well. I should heal her too." Yuki pulled out the Swablu's Pokeball. "I'm sorry girl, but you need to go back into the Pokeball for a while. I'll let you back out soon." He aimed the ball and recalled his Swablu.

With all his Pokémon settled, he took off running again. He was going to hurry and heal, then head to the crash site and pray that what ever was there is still there.

((Sorry Crap post. Wasn't much to do.))

Your Swablu reluctantly return to her Pokeball. As soon as she was safely in her ball you kept walking and came upon the Pokémon Center. You went in and Nurse Joy smiled and said, "Here I'll heal your Pokémon for you." She then took your Pokeballs and went to heal them. All of the people that panic seemed to have rush in here for safety so it was very crowded. You saw several trainers in here as well. They where here to get their Pokémon healed or to get away from the chaos going on outside. Who knows why they where really there.

Soon Nurse Joy came back with your Pokeballs and handed them back to you. "There you go. Both your Swablu and Poochyena are fully healed. Be careful if you go back out there because there is something strange going on. Take care now," she said before she went to the next trainer whose Pokémon needed healing. Well your two Pokémon have been healed and are ready to go. Are you still going to go investigate whatever fell in that park as you headed here now?

(OCC: Since I believe you said you will go investigate it I'll go ahead and add what will happen)

You decided to go and investigate what crashed in the park. As you got there you saw a big crator where the green meteor must have landed. As you got closer to it you had an eerie feeling go up your spine. You wheren't sure what could be there but you had a feeling that whatever it was it will be quiet eerir if that feeling was any indication. You heard a strange sound come from the crator as something seemed to begin to move and come into view. After a few moments the thing that was moving came into view. I was a very creepy creature that was never seen before. It had tentacles on what must be it's mouth, and octipus head and wings. With all of those things combine these creature looked very ugly.

Yuki made it to the center with just enough time to spare. Without much talking by him and the nurse, Yuki had his Pokémon healed and decided to try and grasp the current situation as best as he could. Flying, glowing rocks fall from the sky and scare nearly all of the cities populace. Nearly all the people here were cowering in fear as if this was some scene out of a horror movie. Yuki could only shake his head in disappointment at the sight he was beholding.

As soon as his Pokémon were given back, Yuki took them and gave a hurried thanks before leaving back through the door he entered. He ran as fast as he could, still winded from the run to the Pokémon Center. He managed to run most of the way to the park, stopping for brief intervals to catch his breath. He was a little startled to see a glowing crater in the center of the park.

What came out of the crater was a little more disturbing than all the events tat surrounded it. Yuki had never seen anything like the creature before him. Curious to what the creature was, Yuki pulled out his Pokedex and tried to scan the creature. an electronic voice rang back, Pokémon Species Unknown. Upgrades may be needed to identify.

"Well that isn't much help." Yuki pulled Swablu's and Umbros's Pokeballs free of their holsters. "Okay guys. Battle time!" Yuki tossed both Pokeballs out releasing his little bird and his devilish dog. The wings on the creatures back told Yuki that the thing could more or likely fly. "Swablu keep it pinned down with a gust. If it goes to attack you, wait for an opening and then hit it with Dragon Rush."

Yuki looked down at the dog he had just saved from the jerk trainers. "Umbros please help us. I want you to use Howl to get the creature's attention and then Bite it once you find an opening. Wait to see if Swablu can land a hit on it first and then attack yourself." Yuki didn't need the two Pokémon of two different battle abilities fighting at the same time. He'd need to time their attack so he could attack from the ground and in the air without the two conflicting.

Your Swablu and your new friend Umbros came out of their Pokeballs. Swablu looked at the creature and let out a gasping coo but when she heard you command her to use Gust to keep this unknown creature pin down by using a Gust attack. Swablu nodded and went into the air to prepare to use a powerful Gust to keep the creature pin. It seemed to work because this creature was trying to use it's wings to try and get to your Swablu. It tried to use Absorb on your Swablu but she seemed to be prepared for it and prevent the attack from hitting her by charging hard at the creature with Dragon Rush.

Umbros looked up at you with respect and nodded his head to show that he will help you out in this battle. He looked at the creature and use Howl which brought up his attack and it did distract the creature long enough for your Swablu's Dragon Rush attack to hit the creature without it able to dodge the attack. Umbros then quickly rush at the creature and use a Bite attack which didn't seem to do any damage to it except when you look at the wing and saw that it was damage some. Because of this it wasn't able to bring itself to try and fly once more. It seems that this battle is going well but that could change if your not careful.

"With no information it will be like I'm fighting blindfolded."

Yuki couldn't help but speak his thoughts now that there was no one around. He watched as his Pokémon attacked the creature and succeeding in crippling the beast. Now Swablu could attack from a distance without having to worry to much about the creature moving in to attack.

Yuki ran the image of the attempted attack of the creature from before. He played it against all the moves he had been taught to recognize. "It had to have been Absorb. That won't say much about what type it is, but i can at least take a guess that it is a Flying type by the wings." Yuki gave the creature an appraising look over from a safe distance. "If it had a gust attack, it won't be as effective with an injured wing, but if it has any more ranged attacks I could be in for a hard fight."

I need to distract it and hit it at the same time. Swablu's gust has gotten me this far might as well keep at it. Umbros isn't very fast, but neither is this thing. I can have him fend off attacks.

While Yuki was lost in thought, not a very good thing to do while in battle, Umbros whined a bit while waiting for his orders. Even Swablu chirped impatiently. "I'm sorry guys." Yuki took another look at the thing. He needed to find a weakness somewhere on the creature. Shaking his head, Yuki took an offensive stance, "Alright! Umbros use Agility to pick up some speed and try to find a weak spot. Keep the creature at bay with a Headbutt and then aim a Scratch at its good wing. Wait for Swablu's Gust to go through first though."

He looked up and smiled at his little cloud-like bird. "Swablu start with Gust to weaken it a bit and then fly close, but still out of reach. Once you get close, but out of reach, use Growl to try and split its attention. When it sees you or focuses on you use Astonish to surprise it."

Yuki thrust his hand forward, his index finger pointed to the creature and shouted. "GO!" As he did both swablu and Umbros went into action.

Your Swablu was up first as she began to use a Gust attack against the creature. It seemed to work because the creature couldn't move for a bit but he was glaring at the Swablu and his eyes turned red. Swablu was frighten that she lowered her defense which allowed the creature to move in as close as it could to use it's mouth to bite your Swablu. It seems to not care that it's wing was too injured for it to fly. Swablu cried out in a bit pain but she was still able to use Growl to distract the creature and caused it to realease her. Once the thing was back on the ground breathing what it seems heavly because of the pain it's wing caused when it moved in close to attack Swablu.

Umbros quickly used agility to boost up his speed and as soon as Swablu was free of the creatures bite attack he headbutt it though it seems to have done a bit more damage then the earlier bite attack that cause the creatures wing to be crippled. Umbros then quickly tried to Scratch at the creatures good wing but this time the creature prevent that and got only minimal damage. Swablu used Astonish as soon as she could but that attack did little damage itself. Well this time your Pokémon didn't come out of this round unscath at least not Swablu. Your two Pokémon awaited your next commands to them but they seem too tired to try another 3 attack combo now.
