The bright clean whiteness of the walls of the buildings came into your sight and you knew you had arrived to the town of your destination. Wayford, known as the city of peace in this region, certainly looked like it lived up to it's name for the moment. But who knows. Future events and plans may change your view on how peaceful it is. But for now, take in the peaceful relaxing sights of the city, at least for the time when you walked off the bus. Only an small handful of people acted as your travelling companions on that journey, and all walked off from the steps of the vehicle. All began to go their separate ways, completely walking by and ignoring a distressed animal. The pale colour of fur could be seen through the legs of the other humans. A Meowth, a creature coveted for it's charm and cute features, wandered helplessly around the bus depot, bruises, dirt and scrapes littering it's often fur. The poor thing meowed helplessly into the air, wishing that someone, anyone would have the heart to assist it. Lv. 3 :FemaleYou could help it, if you wanted to. But who knows where that poor cat has been and what riled it up so badly. You could always follow the crowd and ignore the defenseless kitty, or you could be a hero and make a young Pokémon's current wish come true. Your choice. |

Vince sighed to himself as he rose to aid the little cat. Useless as it was, he could use it later. Who knows what it could do? He went over to the little Meowth and knelt beside it. As he knelt beside it, he thought to himself, Well, a Meowth can provide a constant source of money and it also could be good for selling at some point. Best to keep options open and take the stupid cat. Now, he simply had to wait for the cat to respond (hopefully with a yes) and then move on to bigger and better things. As he waited, Vince decided to decide what those "bigger and better things" actually were. The first thing he needed to do was to establish a name for himself. However, that took time. He needed a more immediate goal. His mind flipped through the many possibilities. He could go to a store, the Pokécenter, the open road... The list went on and on. Perhaps the best thing would be to explore the city. Yeah, that would do. So Vince returned his attention to the little cat and said, "Hey there, how're you? I'm Vince. Want to come with me?" |

[I didn't notice until I was halfway done with this ref but please fix the link for your profile. I got a message saying it wasn't right. Thank you!] As you tried to deicide, the Meowth begged to a couple of people who both ignored it. It curled up again and tried to stay warm, licking it's wounds with its rough tongue. "Hey there, how're you? I'm Vince. Want to come with me?" The tiny thing stared up at you with huge eyes. The pupils dilated as though she was trying to see you. Its paws kneaded the fur on its tail as though it was thinking. One ear swiveled to listen behind her for a moment. A shudder wracked her body as she tried to curl up a little bit more. She seemed to be weighing the pros and cons of coming with you as well. Then it tried to cuddle closer to you, as though saying "pick me up and take me home." Well, you could pretty much call that one caught really. She clung to you, kneading your arm painlessly. Shivering, she tried to curl into you, purring now. Whether you wanted to use a PokeBall on her or not was up to you but I don't think she's going anywhere for the time being. Just as she was getting comfortable, a little boy walked up and sneered at it. "Stupid cat. My Pokémon is better." He then released a Spearow who looked just as cocky as the boy did. "I bet I can take you on!" Obviously, the kid was a moron as he didn't see the in-use PokeBall on your belt. Well, you could wipe the smirk off his face or ignore him. Whatever makes you feel superior and in-charge. |

Vince turned to the little kid. He cocked his head sideways and his green eyes bored into the kid. "Come again? You want a fight with this Meowth? I find that extremely offensive. This poor cat is bruised and battered, and you want it engaged in a fight? Yeah, right." Vince removed his single Pokeball from his belt and tossed it up into the air, catching it as it came down. "However, I have a Pokémon more apt to destroying you right here." Vince grinned at the little kid as he tossed the ball up and down. It was time to show this kid that he couldn't just show up and try show others up. It wasn't right. Vince tossed the ball on the ground releasing his Charmander in a flash of red light. As the ball bounced back, he caught it in his hand and replaced it on his belt. Vince nodded at his Charmander and returned his attention to the stupid kid. "Now, then. Still want that fight? Bring it on." Vince thought for a second and then quickly added, "You know, maybe we should raise the stakes here. You know, perhaps a little wager or something? Say $100? Makes life interesting. Either way, its your move. Begin or we'll talk money. As Vince watched the kid and his Spearow, he smiled inwardly. This will be too easy. This kid is going to get annihilated and I'm going to show him that brains are something he lacks. Charmander's Ancient Power will kill the stupid bird in a few quick shots and perhaps he'll be surprised, but I won't. Well, its on now. |

{Hey Blazing Falcon, looks like it's your turn to get a ref from the newest Pinklet. Anyways, this is my fourth ref, and I dunno if it's up to your standards or not, but I'll try my best.} {{Also, since betrayed failed to include a level for the Spearow, I'm just going to pick one at random.}} ![]() ![]() Lv. 6 The boy looked at you with a cocky smirk as he turned his cap around, strands of his bleached-white hair sticking out from underneat it, covering his pale forehead. "Fine, 100$ is nothing." He said, reaching into his black pants as he tugged on a chain connecting his belt loop, to the wallet in his back pocket. "Here, 100." He said, grabbing a rock and putting the money on the ground, the rock over it. "Zyx, are you ready." The boy called to his spearow, who perched himself on his shoulder. "SPEAROW!" The Pokémon called from the boy's shoulder, looking in the direction of you and your charmander, ready to beat the lizard to a pulp. His menacing look only seemed to ready your charmander for a super-powered battle. "Zyx, as soon as that guy calls out his attacks, I want you to dodge using Agility, but keep using it while you soar through the skies. When you see Charmander as vulnerable, nose-dive, and use peck on the stupid lizard." The boy called with a still cocky smirk, looking out towards you, wondering what you would command charmander to do. Lv. 6 37/37 100% :male(?) Lv. 5 35/35 100%

Vince looked at the kid, surprised that he would take the offer so readily. Well, the kid missed his chance to go first, and it would cost him dearly. Vince turned to him and said, "Good Luck. You'll need it." He then turned to Charmander and motioned for him to come near. "Char...," responded the lizard, and he came towards his trainer. Vince knelt beside his Charmander and under the pretense of giving him a good luck pat, whispered, "When Spearow comes from the skies, be ready for my command of Ancient Power." His Pokémon nodded and spread his legs to be ready for a fight. "So, its my turn, is it? Good. Charmander, use Agility to gain speed and then use Scratch." Charmander lifted his head and called, "CHARMANDER!" And then, he was off, running full speed ahead towards the little bird. As Charmander ran forwards, Vince remembered his bet. He removed $100 from his pocket and placed it beneath his foot. He wasn't about to let someone steal his money. Then, he had a great idea. "HEY, kid. Triple or nothing on Charmander only needing at most four hits. If it takes more, then you win no matter the result. Game?" Ancient Power had better pull through. |

"You must be stuipid," The kid said as he put two hundred dollars more under the stone and looked at you as his Spearow jumped off his shoulder. "If you win, I'll even throw in this Pokémon." The boy called, holding a pokeball out ahead of him, what could it be? Zyx was now on the ground looking around for your Charmander, only seeing glimpses of its tail while it ran about quickly. "Spearow!" the bird called as its feathers ruffled when your Charmander passed behind it, quickly, the bird took to the sky, just in time too, because your charmander had just come in for a scratch attack. "Spearow!" The bird cawed still as quickly it zoomed through the sky, tracking your charmander with his own speed. Finally, the time came where Zyx began to spin around rapidly, coming down for a hard dive towards Charmander, but luckily, charmander was a smart cookie, and jumped into the air before it could be stricken by the fearow, then came down on it with a hard stomp. {Don't worry about it. It will do.} Vince raised his eyebrows at the kid's offer and just shrugged. He watched Charmander stomp down on Zyx and whispered to himself, "Game to me." Returning his attention to the fight, Vince called, "Good, Charmander. Now, use Ancient Power. Use it while he's still on the ground." Charmander began to gather energy in itself and preared to unleash the ancient fury. Vince watched the fight and put the second $200 beneath his foot. He turned his attention to his new Meowth and lifted her off of his arm. He looked her in the eye and smiled gently. Maybe he wouldn't sell her, but he would have to keep her for now. I have to at least take her to the Pokécenter. From there, I'll make a decision. Then what can I...Wait! Damn it. I have to concentrate on winning. Even if it is a sure thing. A little something nagged Vince in the back of his mind as he watched Charmander prepare his attack. Something important materialwise. What could it be? O right. Vince called to the kid again, "So is that one hit for Charmander? I have three more to go. Right?" Once again, Vince looked at Charmander, but this time he silently whispered words of encouragement. |

The boy looked at you, then to his own Pokémon and gave a sigh of relief that it hadn't taken more damage from the stomping of his body against the ground. "Zyx! I want you to use Whirlwind as soon as that Charmander comes in with its attack, then quickly use a peck attack against it!" The trainer called agressively, his "no-prisoners" emotion reflecting off his body. Charmander was charging his strength, powering it all into his claws as he stood over Spearow. "CHAR!!!" His voice echoed slightly as quickly he raised his claw into the air, a bright black light seeming to surround it as he was about to release his powerful attack. "MANDER!" His voice trailed off as he jumped into the air, then came down unto Spearow so quickly, that the bird had no chance to use whirlwind to stop it. As Charmadner struck spearow, a large creator was made in the ground where the Pokémon had stricken, and a large cloud of dust had surrounded the two Pokémon. As the dust cleared, you saw Charmander standing beside Spearow, having missed with his attack he looked stunned, but he then smirked as quickly he whipped his tail with the power that remained, and knocked the bird back many, MANY, paces. Spearow was know gliding past the cement road, and it's feathers were slowly coming off as it was somewhat blinded from the dust that had surrounded it previously. Weakly, the bird came up and looked at the lizard before it, and quickly used its still-up speed to fly into the air, where with a powerful and furious flapping of his wings, he created a whirlwind which slowly began cutting away at your charmander's helath, lowering it signifigantly as his energy was pretty low, and he was unable to really defend himself too well. Atleast the flame on his tail was now burning brighter than before, what could that mean though? ![]() 18/35 67%![]() 11/37 73%{Partially Blinded} |

Vince smiled to himself. Alright, then. That's two. Now all that's left is to finish it. Vince called to Charmander and said, "Charmander. It's time to finish this. Use Agility to get behind Zyx and then use Ancient Power again. Quickly now." Charmander nodded at Vince's commands and ran off to carry them out to the best of his ability. Then, he turned to his Meowth. "So, girl. What do you think? Charmander going to win?" The little cat bounced her big head up and down enthusiastically. "Atta girl," Vince said as he scratched her head. In response the cat purred with pleasure. Vince turned his attention to the battle again and waited for the results. |

{{Please, edit your signature links. They are backwards for some reason}} "Zyx!" The trainer called to his Pokémon who seemed to be loosing this battle. "Come on! Just last a bit longer!" His voice was loud and clear as his Spearow took to the skies once again. "YEAH! Now, Use agility, and focus it into your wings, then quickly, use as quick a Whirlwind as you can muster!" He commanded, if he could last this battle out two more rounds, he'd get the money he was promised, and he would win no matter what. Charmander quickly started the round off by using agility again, rapidly increasing his speed as he darted around the area, only leaving flickers of his tail flame in the air where he passed. Spearow knew that he had a perfect chance to attack now, and quickly began flapping his wings using agility to increase the speed by which he flapped them, until suddenly he was slammed into by a powerful tail, which sent him into the ground. "Spearow?!" The Pokémon said as it got up off the ground moments after being slammed into it, a bit of health left now. Questioningly the Spearow looked around for how Charmander could've possibly been able to get into the air; it didn't have wings, and couldn't have jumped that high. Then Spearow noticed a trail of flickers leading up a tree trunk, and then in the air they seemed like a wire. Angrily, the Spearow flew up into the air, and began flapping its wings powerfully, mustering up a powerful whirlwind which caused Charmander to stop darting about as his tail was glowing brightly now, the flame becoming some kind of blue as it got hotter and hotter. Pushing through the whirlwind, Charmander could feel his HP draining ever so slowly as he pushed on further and further. Finally, he was right underneath Spearow and looking up, painfully keeping his eyes open as he looked up into the swirling air waves of death. "CHAR!" The Pokémon called, as the flame on his tail become much brighter, using Ancient Power in a different way then before as he quickly spun around, releasing a large, and powerful, flash of his flame upwards towards Spearow, striking the Pokémon dead in the chest causing it to be knocked into its own whirlwind, which knocked the remainder of its health out of it. Charmander sighed exhaustedly, and stood up powerfully before giving a nice smile, then falling flat on his stomach in exhaustion. "Charmander... char..." ![]() 2/35 26%![]() KO YAY! It looked as though you had won your first match, and better yet, you gained 300$ off that bet, PLUS a new Pokémon, I wonder what it could've been. "Meowth, RETURN!" The trainer called as he held the pokeball from before out in front of him, recalling the meowth in your arms to it. He smirked as he grabbed the 300$ and pokeball, and took them to you. "Looks like I lost, so here, take it." He said, handing you Meowth's pokeball and the money. What kind of guy was he? The meowth had actually belonged to him, and was covered in scars and bruises. And all he could think about what that he lost? How heartless. But alas, he was gone, and you couldn't say anything to him, but at least you had a new Pokémon, and 600$ total with you now. Shouldn't you be going to the Pokémon center though? |

Vince frowned as the Pokeball and money was given to him. The kid had abused his Pokémon and then only cared about winning. What a bastard. Well, the idiot had run off and it was time to continue on the road to greatness. First things first, Vince needed to go to the Pokécenter. Charmander and his new Meowth were in bad shape. Walking over to his collapsed Charmander, he knelt beside the lizard and lifted him up. Rubbing his head, Vince tapped the button on Charmander's Pokeball and the lizard was gone from corporeality. He placed both Pokeballs on his belt and walked down the street towards the Pokémon Center. As he walked down the street, Vince saw a sign advertising camping gear. Entering the store that it referred to, he browsed the small inventory and purchased a grappling hook for both practical and unscrupulous reasons (makes a great weapon that isn't a weapon). Leaving the store with his new grappling hook, he passed the Pokémart where he figured he could buy an escape rope to accompany his hook. He was absolutely right. So again Vince purchased his item and went to the Pokémon Center. As he waited for his Pokémon to be healed, he looked around the Center for anything that he could do, such as a mission or a person in need. Someone had to need something. |

The Pokémon Assistant quickly placed your Pokeballs into a silver tray and disappeared in the back. There were a few trainers here and there in the lobby waiting, one in particular sitting in a computerized phone booth as someone, whoever it was, was whispering something to them. "A... Ditto... TWICE!" That's all you heard given the hushed silence from the telephone booth. The assistant had yet to bring back your Pokémon after a few moments, others in the lobby growing antsy as well. What was taking so long back there? Others stood up and began to pace, another rapping her fingers against the armrest on her chair. A third stared out the front window, watching another trainer come in holding three Pokeballs as the newcomer quickly smiled and headed to the desk. "Hello?" She asked, looking around the desk. The assistant still hadn't appeared. "What is going on?" Another asked. "I've been waiting twenty minutes just for my Mawile to be restored." The man placed on his explorer cap and placed his hands behind his back. "I'd say an adventure is at foot." "Old geezer, you would say that," a young kid mocked. "Everything's an adventure to you from what I see." "Yes," the man agreed, "yes it is." Maybe there was a way to figure out what was going on? Strange how there was no one behind the desk when there was always someone behind that desk. |

Vince stood silently and let the world go on without him. He listened to everything and noted two things. One: Someone had done something with a Ditto twice, which was very good because dittos could be very useful. Two: It was taking a long time for his Pokémon to be healed. A lot longer than it should be taking. He decided it was time to take action. Vince walked up to the desk to ask what the problem was, but no one was there. He looked around in confusion, but no assistant showed up. A young trainer came up beside him and asked "Hello?" No one came to answer her summons. Then, a man behind him said, "What is going on? I've been waiting twenty minutes just for my Mawile to be restored. I'd say an adventure is at foot." A little kid mocked the old man saying, "Old geezer, you would say that. Everything's an adventure to you from what I see." Vince smiled inwardly, but didn't listen for the old man's response. 20 minutes was too long a wait. There was no way that he was going to wait twenty minutes for a quick heal. He had things he wanted to do, like illegal things. This was not time for waiting. It was time for action. I give them five seconds. 5...4...Screw it. I'm done waiting. Five minutes is too long here anyways. Vince put his hands on the desk and leapt over it. Something odd was going on here and Vince wanted a part of it. A hushed mention of two Dittos, long waits, it was all very interesting. Vince walked to the door in the back of the Pokémon Hospital and entered the real hospital. |

Sanitizer. The heavy stench of awful sanitizers slammed into you once you pushed back the doors into the inner sanctum of the Pokémon Center. Metallic walls, shelves, beds, everything looked to be pristine and cold, even as everything was empty. "Get them!" A rumble of noise echoed from your left, a harsh voice pounding into the walls as another person screamed in pain. The smell of smoke began to clog the air, a dark, black, fog trickling across the ceiling. What was going on? The smoke was too dense and too black to be a fire. More sounds, like a cluttering of nails against a metallic floor became louder and louder as you heard a... "KOFFING!" The sound came from right beside you as your Meowth came scampering, sliding against the floor and skidding into a counter. Meowing in slight pain, it finally jumped up as it saw you with its large, white eyes. "Meow!" It scampered toward you once more, "Meow! Meowth! MEOW!" It rushed in front of you, throwing out its arms as it glared at the floating Koffing. It looked healthy as if it had been healed from earlier. "KOFFING!" Whatever's going on, this Koffing didn't like you around it. Lvl. 6 ![]() 37 / 37 100%
