Matt gazed up at the old house, his imagination racing though not about what was inside it. This house must have been stunning when it was built, the size and beauty of it now was stunning even in its derelict state. Matt looked at the weeds and the uncared for garden and then back up at the derelict house. No wonder ghost Pokémon found their home here, the house seemed as forgotten and uncared for as they are.

Matt crossed the garden, careful to avoid any thistles and nettles and made his way to the collapsed front porch and the squeaky front door. Turning he beckoned to Vulcan who had stopped at the edge of the garden and seemed to be contemplating whether they were edible or not. Matt stood patiently as he waited for his little camel to join him, this would be their first time at trying to capture, or hopefully befriend a wild Pokémon.

Matt stared up at the house now towering over him, its turrets pointing off into the sky and its roof seemingly hurriedly put together. The house sent an involuntary shiver down Matt's spine, he didn't want to be here when it got dark, that would be too much. Matt paused before entering, waiting for Rob and the two kids to catch up.

Matt wondered whether the other kid had a Pokémon, or did they just have a Ralts. When they finally got to Matt he reached forward and opened the front door with an enormous creak and stepped across the threshold into the house.......

Rob examined the derelict structure, he took closer inspection on the old cracks noticed on the outside, and this seemed like the place.

Robert made sure Seedot was okay, he nodded his head and so did he in turn, they didn't scared one bit, they knew that these Pokémon were only looking for friends and they hoped their entrance will make them realise the light of Pokémon trainers.

"Okay let's go"
Robert entered with Matthew as he followed his moves, seedot stood close to Vulcan to avoid any problems so they could work together if any situation came.

Robert checked his poketech, they seemed in a place visible to the poketech so all was okay there, they just had to watch where they stepped in case this place had dodgy flooring or something of the same thing. Robert was cautious and then signalled to the others of the important things.

"Seems like a pretty old place guys, keep your eyes peeled! Plus, this place may have dodgy flooring which may crack and break at any time so just be careful and tred carefully!"

So, you're going to enter the so-called "House on the Hill?" According to the two kids you'd met, it was filled with ghost Pokémon. Who doesn't want ghost Pokémon? And those kids seemed in awe of you, that you were willing to go into the house.

Knowing that such an ancient, derelict, and forgotten old house might be dangerous to simply walk in, you, Rob, warned everyone of the dangers. Reilly and Louis, still extremely excited that they were going back to the house with reinforcements, nodded vigorously. With that in mind, the four of you entered the creepy house.

Once you stepped in, it was like entering a new world. A mysterious wind blew through the building even though the air was still and arid outside. Whispers could be heard echoing in the rooms. Were you sure you wanted to still be in here?

At that moment, the door slammed shut behind you. Reilly and Louis jumped in fear, turning to see a Duskull, knocking the door shut. Another Duskull and two Gastlys appeared. The four surrounded you and your Pokémon. They seemed angry that you would enter in on their home. So, what will you do?

Seedot jumped at the noise of the door slamming shut, turning around he suspected what he thought, ghost Pokémon, Seedot stood tall next to Vulcan showing to him that he was not scared at all.

Rob looked towards the door slamming shut, he had a feeling something like this would happen, and he raised his hand open in the face of Seedot as if saying to wait a moment, these Pokémon didn't exactly look happy.

"Reilly, Louis, get your Pokémon out and tell them to stay put, stay behind me and Matt."

Robert then walked gently closer towards them, not too close to make sure they didn't harm their personal space, even though they were ethereal of course. Standing up straight and fearless, Robert smiled nicely and welcomely to the ghost Pokémon, he gave the impression that he wasn't here to fight, he put his hands up to his chest open up as if a semi-hands up animation.

"Hey hey, its okay you guys, you can calm down." Signalled Rob to the Ghost Pokémon. He searched through his bag carefully for some food, all trainers carried food and Robert knew that the best way to befriend any Pokémon would be from food, plus, these Pokémon must've not ate in ages.

"Here, have this" Robert got a handful of his poke'food and threw it under arm gently towards them on the floor. "We came in here to check out the place, we heard that this place was home to you guys so we thought we'd pay a visit, we mean no harm, honestly."

Rob tried his best to reassure these ghost Pokémon, Rob looked to Matt for guidance, he was the older one and would have more of an idea on what to do next. Rob then looked towards Reilly and Louis.

"You two must not give the impression of being scared of them, they mean no harm, Reilly, you live near this house, any idea what happened to those who lived here?"

Rob was expecting either the ghost Pokémon's parents that looked after them died or mistreated them and left them behind or something of the aparent. Ghost Pokémon are not like dark Pokémon which are the total opposite.

Rob started to have a quick flash back, he remembered his old trainings back in cerulean training school, learning about ghost Pokémon and dark Pokémon how they were the ying and yang of Pokémon types, and he then focused back to the situation and took notice of the ghost Pokémons' actions...

Matt was in wonder at the appearance of the four ghosts, they had appeared without noise and without warning. He gazed at each in turn, from the mischievous grin of the Gastly's to the pitiful deepness of the Duskulls eyes. Matt wondered how they would survive this encounter, he wanted to head deeper into the house and hopefully find a Misdreavus. What mattered now though was convincing these ghosts that they meant no harm and just wanted to explore. After all, if they fought them they'd either be wiped out quickly or if they managed to beat the ghosts then the going would only get tougher.

Matt quickly dashed through his mind, speeding through anything and everything he could think of that related to ghost Pokémon. While Rob was throwing them food Matt had entered a semi trance, a particular memory stood out from the others. He was in Bill's house and had gone off to find a certain book for school. While exploring Bill's library he came across a rough book, it had scrappy covers and some pages were torn. Matt opened the book and started to read, and what he read both fascinated him and scared him. It was a book on Ghost Pokémon, their existence and how they came to be, and when Bill found him reading it he immediately took it from Matt and sent him home.

Matt came back to reality and gazed at the ghosts again, he understood at least one theory of how they came about. He could remember what the book had said about these Pokémon, it had said that some ghosts were originally humans who just couldn't let go of life. The Pokémon they became was determined by how they died or certain things they either loved or couldn't let go of. Gastly, it had said, was a mischievous person in life and had died due to its mischievous ways so became this Pokémon, still pulling pranks. Duskull though was different. This Pokémon was someone who had died due to an accident caused by misbehaving children which was why it stole the souls of naughty children.

"Okay everyone, listen up," Matt said in a quiet whisper, "We need to get these guys to understand that we mean them no harm. The Gastly shouldn't be that much trouble but they might pull a few pranks on us but take them in good humour and don't get angry. The Duskull though could do some serious harm to us, just be polite and whatever you do, don't misbehave."

Matt signalled to Vulcan to stay calm and to not aggravate the ghosts. The Numel took this as a rest opportunity and slumped to the floor, saving its energy but still alert in case of the need for a sudden attack. Turning to the ghosts again Matt surveyed the room for possible escape routes, it was still light outside so that could be used to their advantage, but apart from that the ghosts were in home territory.

"Please, don't be angry with us, we came to explore this house but we mean you no harm," Matt repeated what Rob had said to the ghosts, "I understand how you must be feeling, everyone shunning you for what you are but I believe you should be valued the same as every other Pokémon no matter what you've done. If you would let us continue then we would be grateful."

Matt waited to see what the ghosts reaction would be, it was their move and really they had the upper hand......

As Rob pitched some food towards the ghosts, Reilly shrank back a little before being reassured by the presence of his Ralts, Pheta. Apparently, his possession was still fresh in his mind. More than likely, it had been a Duskull that had possessed him.

Louis, however, was preparing for this moment. Reaching for one of his Pokeballs in case things started to get ugly, he released a Houndour. The presence of the dark Pokémon startled the ghosts a little, but Rob's food had reassured them a bit.

After sampling Rob's food and listening to your "We won't hurt you" sort of pleas, the ghosts started discussing things among themselves in Pokémon language. Whether or not they lived alone in this house, or if there were more, none of you knew. A bit of an argument seemed to be going on, until finally...They vanished?!

It seemed as though the ghosts had flown the coop...Until the floor started shaking under you. As the dimensions of the front room that all four of you had entered started to wildly distort, a huge panel opened up under all of you and dumped all eight beings of your party down a short stone chute and into the basement.

Ow. None of you were too battered, despite the fact that you had just landed on a wet stone floor. Likewise, the walls in the basement were made of wet, slimy stones with crumbling mortar. The ceiling was made of old wood, and the whole room extended below the whole place. Except for a damp light bulb swinging from the ceiling, the room was completely devoid of light.

Suddenly, high winds started gusting through the basement, and Ralts, Houndour, Numel, and Seedot all herded themselves together. Turning towards Louis, all three of you found that his eyes were glowing an eerie red. The wind was coming from him and, as he pointed towards you, a mass of ghosts started whirling around the group.

Dozens of Gastly, Duskull, and Drifloon were whirling around you in a tight mass, and then horrible visions of monsters and distorted souls (illusions, no doubt) appeared before you. Tighter and tighter the circle grew until...everything vanished. Including Louis.

Whimpering, the Houndour sniffed around for his master, and then howled in sorrow at the realization that his trainer had vanished. To the far right, a set of stairs appeared, apparently almost at the front door where all of you had entered.

"What did they do to Louis?" Reilly asked, clearly petrified. At this point, he remembered that he had ignored a question of Rob's from earlier out of fear. "An old couple used to live here, and they opened up their house as a Bed & Breakfast because of lack of hotels in this part of the city and out of kindness. You see, they loved helping people. It's said that they unknowingly let in a serial killer, and in the dead of night, he killed every living being in this house just to obtain their wealth and riches...He was never caught."

Matt sighed and looked around for another way out, thinking that the stairs would either lead them out or into some other trap. Seeing no other way out he turned back to the assembled group of Pokémon and trainers, milling around in the centre of the room. Matt crouched down and checked over Vulcan to check that he ws okay, seeing no sign of damage Matt scratched Vulcan's head and stood up.

"Alright, lets get moving, we don't want to stay in one place to long in case we're caught again," Matt said to the assembled crowd, "As there's no other way out I suppose we're going ot have to use those stairs."

Matt turned and headed towards the stairs not waiting for the others to disagree, he didn't really care, he'd go on without them if needs be. He signalled to Vulcan to follow him, who dutifully plodded after him. There was still hope of finding a Misdreavus in this house, even if it did take a while. That kid, Louis also needed help as well and Matt wasn't going to let that kid come to harm...
