The battle was going there way still and with the Poliwag out of the battle it looked set to be an easy finish. Robert listened to his brother give out possibly his final orders of the battle and hence, he thought it was time that he did too. He knew now was the time to finish this off and combo with Matt's Vulcan to end this.

"Quickly Seedot! Make the first move and use Quick Attack on Tyrogue and try to push yourself into his face with your forehead! Then pull back allowing Vulcan to do some damage and then finish this off by using the fastest and accurate Quick Attack you can do into the chest of Tyrogue and knock him into the hard sand of the waves!"

Seedot eyes narrowed and quickly gave his energy (which in fact he had heaps of it left) to finish this battle. Seems that Seedot got the message clear as Seedot then quickly put the commands into place.

[Hmm] Robert thought in his head. [I hope this trainer will play by normal Pokémon battle rules and hand over money in loss. That would be very irritating if he didn't] with thinking this, Robert then snapped out of his thoughts and focused more on the battle...

The Seedot quickly sprung forward, forcing the Tyrogue to be pushed off its round form. Stumbling from the Quick Attack, the Tyrogue bumped into the Numel as the large, camel like Pokémon tackled it from behind, igniting a fiery ember once more as the Tyrogue screamed in pain. Another Quick Attack was issued, the poor Tyrogue ricocheting back and forth between each Pokémon. "Hey!" The surfer finally let out a scream. "What do you think your doing?! Have some heart you li'l terds! He's down! Stop tryin' to kill him!" The Tyrogue did look insanely battered once the ember from the Numel struck him again. The second Quick Attack only caused others witnessing the battle to click their tongues in disappointment.

The Tyrogue fell to the hard sand, disappearing in a red light as the surfer recalled his Pokémon. He glared at the two trainers, mumbling underneath his breath as he held onto the Pokeball tightly. "I hope you all drown, li'l terds!" He spun around, blonde hair twirling as he refused to look at the brothers without giving either of the two kids money. Why should he give up money when they refused to give him any? Now they weren't going to know there were possibly a hoard of Lapras near the barrier reef.

"You two!" A woman wearing a blue uniform came rushing toward the beach, point an accusing finger at both of you. "Don't you move! We've gain word of Pokémon cruelty!" The police officer pointed to the badge on her chest, glaring with suspicion. "Now which one of you owns that Seedot, huh?" Staring at the Seedot, the police officer already noticed how full of energy it was. It certainly looked like it was ready to keep on trying to kill Pokémon.

"It's that kid right there, officer!" The surfer pointed toward Rob once he turned back around. "You should arrest those li'l terds, ya know? Poor Tyrogue!"

"Alright, young men. What do you have to say for yourselves?"

With the battle over, Seedot looked pretty exhausted. The battle was over and it was a case of a pure battering and easy win for the Prideaux brothers.

"Well done Seedot, return!"

A red ray of light sprayed out onto the pokeball and pulling the Pokémon into the pokeball. Seedot looked very happy and cheerfully before going in.

Robert then saw a Police Officer. He shrugged, but he acknowledged that their actions were slightly uncalled for, but the surfer did ask for everything that came to him.

"Hello there officer. Sorry about the battle there but this guy merely asked for a Pokémon battle and his partner left the scene without playing by the fair standards of Pokémon Rules and handing over money. In any double battle you continue with two versus one."

Robert looked at the surfer, he seemed outraged from losing in such a terrible manner. Robert looked towards him in disappointment.

"Hey dude, I am sorry for your Tyrouge, I wouldn't mind escorting you and your friend to the nearest Pokémon centre if you like. I am sure that’s more then reasonable. But with every Pokémon battle, you must reward the victors. That's simple honour of battle."

Robert looked to Matthew, Robert and Matthew thought they have done nothing wrong. They were fully qualified Pokémon trainers who knew what they were doing. What they done merely was what happens in most Pokémon battles, Robert knew that the Surfer guy asked for it because he did challenge them. Robert Sighed.

"Matt, I think we kinda got in the zone a bit too much. Then again this guy did allow his Pokémon to battle till the end; he wasn't requesting defeat or anything. What should we do?"

Whilst he awaited an answer. Robert looked to the officer and spoke in a kind trustful and honest manner.

"Officer, I apologise for what’s happened here, I guess we did over do it a bit, but the trainer didn't exactly look like he wanted to stop. You might not know our father, head of the Cerulean Police Department. But we played fairly and this guy simply asked for a Pokémon battle and he wasn't backing off in any stage."

Robert's face jerked, it seemed that Tohea City was being a bit strict over a simple Pokémon battle...

Matt watched the rest of the battle in horror, it wasn't supposed to happen like that. Didn't Rob realise that his attacks would have finished the Tyrogue off, he didn't have to pummel it into oblivion. Matt's heart raced and only hoped that the Tyrogue was all right, he didn't like it when Pokémon were that seriously injured.

He knelt down beside his Numel and held it's head in his hands and whispered a little congratulations to his Pokémon. Matt patted Vulcan then stood up as the police officer came over. He listened intently as the police officer demanded to know what had happened and then Rob trying to explain what had happened. Though Matt trusted Rob with everything he had, what he said made him cringe.

Yeah, the surfer had challenged them for a battle and he had wanted to fight to the end, but not his end. It wasn't his fault that his Tyrogue had got battered. Matt contemplated everything that was happening before opening his mouth, jumping in feet first was not something he liked doing.

"I'd like to apologise for everything that happened," Matt started in a cool, collected tone before addressing the surfer, "I don't like seeing Pokémon hurt like your Tyrogue was, my brother over reacted he should have realised my Numel's attacks were probably enough to end the battle without that much damage. To show I'm sorry I'd like to offer to pay for any treatment your Tyrogue might need."

Matt paused here, wondering how the surfer would react to this. He turned to the police officr and thought again. The officer seemed to be only interested in Rob and his Seedot though she had asked both of them to explain themselves. Matt collected his thoughts again before speaking to the officer.

"Officer, I don't want to cause any trouble. I'm the last person who wants to see Pokémon hurt, I only agreed to this battle as there seemed to be no other alternative. When this guy's sister withdrew her Pokémon from the battle he continued as did we, my brother failed to realise that the Tyrogue was weak enough for my Numel alone to finish it off." Matt paused before continuing, "I am truly sorry and as I said before I will quite happily pay for any treatment the Tyrogue may need."

Matt hoped that the officer understood his sorrow at what had occured. His heart went out to hurt and injured Pokémon and his heart was set on making sure the Tyrogue was alright, he just hoped everyone else understood.....

"Did you gamble a wager?" The police officer spoke, raising a finger for the brothers to silence themselves. "You have to agree to a set amount of money in a Pokémon battle in order to receive money in the first place. Judging from what you just said, young man, that didn't happen." The police woman curtly nodded toward Rob. "Now it is up to this surfer if he wants to give you money for this battle, wager or not."

"No way!" The surfer responded.

"Then there you have it. Will you allow them to escort you to the nearest Pokémon Center?"

"Ha! They'll just try to beat me up like the li'l terds that they are!"

The woman looked curiously at both brothers once Rob mentioned Cerulean City. Really, she only knew Tohea. She heard of other regions, but then again... "Then you should have known the rules for Pokémon abuse, young man!" Very certainly Rob should have, unless he was lying. The woman had that thought cross her mind, but decided not to point out accusations like the surfer was.

The surfer eyed Matt, taking in the brother's words and finally shoved the Tyrogue's ball into the pockets within his swimming trunks. "I don't need any of your money. You've done enough harm. Just wait until I spread this around the city." Frowning again, the surfer crossed his arms across his bare chest as the police officer placed her gloved hands on her hips.

"What's your last name, boys? I'm marking this up as a warning. Continue your way through the city, but be warned." She pointed at the brothers again. "I'm going to be watching every move you make within Tohea City." A threat? Maybe. But she quickly jotted down whatever information the brothers gave to her in a note pad and awaited them to move on. The surfer simply turned around and left.

With that out of the way, maybe its better to travel to the Pokémon Center as well and heal your Pokémon. Or you could walk to find more Pokémon to battle, if your Pokémon can survive the possible encounters!

Matt gave a mental shrug, he didn't really care what the surfer spread around it didn't bother him. The policewoman's warning didn't hold much for him either, it didn't stop him doing anything just yet so he'd just have to be careful. Matt watched as the crowd gradually disappeared and he turned to his brother.

"Oh well, lets just go find a Pokémon Center, it can't be that hard to find," Matt told Rob with a hint of control in his voice, "and lets try not to get into more trouble, next time lets one of us withdraw our Pokémon."

Matt unclipped the vacant ball from his belt and returned Numel to his home. Matt then turned and started up the beach, expecting Rob to follow, finding a Pokémon center was a major first and then whatever fate had in store. Matt didn't care much for anything, all he needed was friends by his side and love in his heart, then he was happy.

Gazing around the town he noticed the peace that hung over the city. From what he had read these islands were supposed to be constantly arguing but Tohea was a beacon of peace. He liked it, peace, it was something people could find themselves in and discover who they are. Matt loved it.

Wandering through the town was amazing for Matt, the thrills of new people and new places was amazing. That was what drove Matt to leave home in the first place, the thrill of discovery. They finally reached a large building, outside of which hung a sign declaring its innards. A Pokémon center, finally. Matt waited for Rob to go in, Matt's Pokémon wasn't damaged at all but he still liked to give it a check up....

Robert sighed mentally, he felt cheesed off oevr the surfer guy. Then again, he wasn't going to get places if there wasn't a Pokémon center in Tohea City so that went to one of Robert's of what to do. Seedot was pratically okay but you can never be too sure.

"Robert Prideaux and my brother Matthew Prideaux. Again, Sorry" Robert with Matthew left the scene and had to get away from the drama, they had to get to a Pokémon center, even if the surfer guy was there they would just ignore him.

"Yeah Matt sorry bout that, we better go find the Pokémon Center now."

They continued to look around the city, a wonderful place of discovery and still the sun shined strong tohea, whatever they did they have to do it quick to get back into the Pokémon action!

Finally a Pokémon Center, Robert went inside followed by Matthew as he unclicked his seedot's from his pokebelt ready to hand in at arrival.

The Pokémon Center loomed up in front of you, a grand building. Trainers loitered around it and even some were battling. Well, it was a pretty smart idea considering that they would end up here anyways. A Growlithe and Houndour were fighting a little too enthusiastically for their trainers and both boys were trying to drag them apart. A couple of other trainers had rushed in to help as well.

The Pokécenter was hopping as assistants dashed about, collecting Pokémon and running them back. One approached you as you entered in the door. Handing over your PokeBalls, she took your information, making sure to check with your PokeDex, and promised you it would be about ten minutes before they would be ready.

As the two of you waited, you glanced around the room. Surfer guy wasn't here or maybe he had already left. The people there though looked incredibly bored and even one had fallen asleep reading the outdated magazines. However, a few trainers looked at you and whispered amongst themselves. They didn't seem too happy either. Word must've gotten around quickly in this town.

An overworked voice called your names out then. They checked both of your PokeDexes, making sure you weren't stealing someone else's Pokémon. Retrieving your PokeBalls, you were about to set out when you overheard someone talking.

"Yeah, I heard there were a bunch of Ghost-types there," one kid was saying.

"I went in there and the next thing I knew, I was outside on the sidewalk." The kid shuddered at the memory. "It was really creepy."

"You mean the House on the Hill?" Just the way the third kid said it made it seem incredibly important. "I heard a mad scientist lived there."

"Nah, just a bunch of Ghost-types. Kind of creepy really. If I had stronger Pokémon, I'd go back and try to catch one," he said.

Well, it didn't sound too far away from what they were saying. Although, just the thought of being controlled to the point where you had no recollection of walking outside was somewhat creepy. It would be a nice training exercise though.

Robert gazed around as he walked amazingly at the Pokémon centre and those around it. The Pokémon battle they witnessed before they entered it reminded Rob of his mistake and made him think to himself.

Right, I better start taking consideration of people's Pokémon and feelings next time. He thought. He then smiled looking bright with the sun still in the sky, they both entered the Pokémon centre and were immediately served.

Whilst they recovered from their walking they stood idly looking for something to do but already felt like center of attention. Rob felt slightly embarrassed and tried to not look suspicious but friendly. They had to do something for their reputation.

Suddenly, Robert's ear picked up a conversation before they left for the outside, not of them, but of something else. Listening carefully seemed like maybe Rob had an idea after all. Walking away from Matt whilst he watched he went over to the two trainers and introduced himself.

"Hi, I am Robert Prideaux, I couldn't help hearing your conversation about the 'House of the Hill' I was thinking, would you need a hand? Me and my twin brother Matt are pretty experience trainers ourselves, a bit of battling in our home region of Kanto our two Pokémon are pretty capable."

He then paused for a minute (OOC: I am allowing Matthew to talk here if he doesn't then read on.), he then continued.

"So what about this, me and Matt go help you two out, I reckon four of us against a few ghost Pokémon won't be that daunting, we're both 19 and maybe we might be able to catch a few, you could then maybe show off your new Pokémon to your mates and I'd bet they'd be jealous."

Robert then offered his hand out open palm ready for a low five. This could be a good way to help their reputation at Tohea City and maybe catch a few new Pokémon!

Matt looked round the Pokémon center and could hear the whispers about him and Rob. He could feel their eyes watching his every move, but who gives a damn about a bad reputation. Matt certainly didn't, he knew that he was sorry but if others didn't see it what did it matter. He waited patiently for their Pokémon to be handed back.

He heard the kids talking about the haunted mansion and his heart lept, ghost Pokémon were rare and a house full of them was amazing. Matt had a theory that ghost Pokémon were just misunderstood, not really wanting to cause mischief. He thought that because people shunned them and were frightened of them they turned to trickery for a means of revenge.

Matt listened as Rob talked to them, he was starting to get annoying really, I mean their Pokémon were still only Level 5, maybe 6 after the battle. They weren't that experienced, and anyways they really didn't have that much battling experience. Matt didn't bother speaking to the kids when Rob paused he just let the silence wander, he didn't have anything to say so why bother thinking of something.

He let Rob carry on and just went down his own trains of thought, generally on the existence of things and the meaning of life. His main thought being that what a horrible inconvenience life was and maybe we'd be better off without it. He quickly snapped back from this train of thought and came back to reality (if thats what it really is) and waited for the kids reply, secretly hoping that they'd leave Rob hanging....

For a moment, all three kids merely stared at you both and blinked. Most of them weren't any older than fifteen or sixteen, by the looks of it. Perhaps these boys thought that both of you were insane to even want to go to this "House on the Hill". Robert had obviously fried the circuits of their brains for a few seconds.

"That...would be...AWESOME!" one of the kids finally breathed, the one who had entered the house earlier. "I mean...As long as nothing that's too weird happens. What do you say Louis?" he asked his companion next to him, the one that you had heard speak first.

"I'm in!" Louis replied, clutching a single Pokeball as a vacant smile emerged on his face. "I've been wanting a Gastly for ages...How about you, Matt?" he said to the third.

"I am NOT going anywhere near that place," Matt said, "Not after what happened to Reilly. I mean, who would want to go there when you're capable of being possessed? Anyway, I still say that a mad scientist lives there." With a derisive snort, he walked out the door with one of those "They're going to die" sort of looks on his face. However, the other two (Louis and Reilly) returned Rob's low five.

"We're in!" Reilly said. "If you still promise to come with us, we'll take you there," he said, gesturing towards the door. As he did so, he tapped his Pokeball open, revealing a timid-looking Ralts. Dang, maybe that's why he had so much trouble! "This is Pheta, by the way."

If you two didn't still object to the whole plan, you could just stay here and let these two younger kids down...Or, if you were itching for adventure, you'd give these boys some battling support. Besides, there was a possibility to obtain a few ghosts in the mix!

Robert seemed happy with the whole morale of things, the two boys seemed ready to go but it was a shame for their third companion. But Robert didn't fray, he had a plan. He thought that maybe instead of hurting these ghost Pokémon they could convince them out of their silly behaviour, after all, ghost Pokémon are renowned for having fun by scaring others because they're scared inside, or lonely.

"Right, just wait as me and Matt get our pokeballs and will set off. Whilst we wait guys, tell us a bit about your Pokémon so we can help you on how to coordinate them in battle."

Robert then turned to Matt and smiled, he then stared at his brother for a while, and he noticed he wasn't exactly happy. He had a fake smile that could be told because Robert himself has pulled it many times before; he took Matthew away for a few minutes to talk with him to discuss his feelings. Talking gently and quietly to his brother with his hand on his shoulder he questions his brother’s feelings.

"Hey Matt what’s the problem, you don't seem too pleased?"

<Note to Matt, I want to do a bit of a discussion with you before we ask for another ref; I will remove this after you have posted but yknow. I want to get a real sense of knowing your feelings etc.>

Matt shrugged the hand off his shoulder and turned to his brother, having felt a pang of pity for the kid who stormed out. It seemed he had lost a friend, or his friend had been possessed. Matt turned back to his brother and smiled that fake smile again that Rob obviously knew so well. Matt took a deep breath before starting to speak.

"If you can tell when I'm giving a fake smile, how come you couldn't tell when I didn't want you to attack in that battle?" Matt asked in a kind of sarcastic tone but so subtle it couldn't be picked up, "If you hadn't attacked we wouldn't be in this mess and we could have probably found some decent water Pokémon and at least have our reputation still intact."

Matt turned around and walked off to join the two kids waiting for them, he pulled his Pokeball off his belt and released Vulcan.

"This is Vulcan, he should have gone up a level I think after our misfortunate battle but he's a bit slow," Matt shrugged and turned to Rob, "You coming?"

Matt walked out of the Pokécenter and waited for the others to join him, this was going to be tough. The kid had a Ralts which wasn't powerful against ghost types and Rob's Seedot only knew Normal type moves, they were going to have to do some strategy....

(For ref, could you calculate our exp for the battle we took part in.)

Rob scratched his head why he did what he did, he took a pause and shrugged his shoulders, and he knew he was in the wrong. He looked into his brothers eyes when he finished talking.

"I am sorry Matt..." he said softly.

It went unheard by the looks of things; Matthew and Robert were now ready to set off. This could turn out to be a treacherous journey considering looking at one of the Pokémon which was a Ralts, but it seemed fine for battle, after all, not only did Seedot and Numel have teeth to use bite for, so did a Ralts. It had a mouth with a smile that shone teeth, this was a good sign after all ghost Pokémon were weak to dark type attacks but of course, it wasn't a move they specially known and none of the Pokémon had stab so their bites could be average damage and only a little bit more.

Seedot was back in Rob's hands now; he pointed the pokeball with his seed-like friend and showed him to the two kids.
"My Seedot, with harden, he could be our tank in battle and take most of the hits, but if we got around this correctly guys and try to understand the feelings of these ghost Pokémon then we might be able to make friends with them. Wouldn't that be cooler? Friends with the ghosts?"

Whilst walking out, Rob looked at his Poketech, they seemed pretty much the centre of the city and had to get to this house, it wasn't on the poketech, mind you, and most ordinary houses aren't. Whilst outside the Pokémon centre, Robert asked the two trainers for directions and they set off...

(Calculated and Added.)

Reilly and Louis simply watched as you debated with each other, wondering what you were saying but not really wishing to eavesdrop. It would be a poor way to repay both of you if they were spying on you, after all. In the meantime, Reilly played with Pheta and Louis stood off to the side, pretending to be bored.

"I like that idea better," Louis replied to Rob quickly, snapping out of his boredom. "I wonder if a couple of them wouldn't mind coming with us? Reilly lives pretty close to there."

"...Which is why I wanted to approach it," Reilly intervened, walking up a random street. "Just follow me, and I'll show you the way." If the kid's home was near there, then it shouldn't be too much trouble to find the place, correct?

It wasn't really too much trouble, but it was definitely a long walk. Tohea was huge, and it housed many businesses and housing districts. Heck, you could've even sworn that you'd passed a gym once. What made the walk worse was that it was a hot day, and soon most of you were wondering if you weren't going to melt first.

Finally, you stopped at the end of what Reilly said was the street that he lived on. "It's over there," he said, pointing to the far end of the street. Surrounded by the nice housing district that Reilly lived in, the hill was a bit of a sore thumb compared to the rest of the landscape. It was just tall enough that it could be seen from almost any nearby location.

The hill itself was overgrown with weeds, and it was surrounded by a decaying picket fence that looked as though it had been painted white at one point. A three-story Victorian house sat on top, complete with a balcony and even a couple of turrets.

As your little group pressed closer, the house's decay seemed more evident. Loose shingles fluttered off of the house in the wind, the siding could use a major repaint (the house used to be a dull yellow), broken windows were evident, and the once-grand front porch was falling in. The front door hung off of its hinges, and whenever the wind disturbed it, a bone-chilling squeaking sound filled the air.

"It used to belong to the founder of the city and his descendants," Reilly breathed. "I heard that it hasn't been properly inhabited in over one hundred years." Creepy....

So...Still keen on entering "The House on the Hill?"
