Having finished his meal, Manuel got up from the table and looked at his Pokémon who had also finished eating. He smiled and brushed the clothing off as he stuffed it back into his bag, then turned to see if Adam was done eating.

Before he caught sight of his companion, he noticed a blur on the table and stared in awe as a Pokémon appeared. Looking at the little bird on the table, Manuel lifted up his Poketech and gained some information on the Pokémon.

"Natu, aye?" He said to himself as he looked at the little psychic bird. He looked at Adam and spoke aloud, "Adam, do you think it's wild?" But then he thought, What if it's not?

He looked towards Abra, who was obviously picking up on his thoughts and trying to get the information from Natu. Thank Arceus for allowing me to find Abra. He said, Abra smiling after he picked up on that as he continued to try and get information.

"Natu!" she squeaked in the direction of Adam, who cocked his head for a moment. Oddly enough, she didn't seem to want anything to do with you or Abra. Hopping towards him, she pecked at him affectionately.

Suddenly, Adam's face lit up. "Could you be...?" Turning to you excitedly, he said all at once. "I think this Natu is from Pokémon Egg that my dad's Xatu had some time ago! Since it's half-psychic, dad said that I could have her when she was old enough!" At this point, you also noticed that the bird had a small note addressed to Adam in neat writing.

Carefully removing the attached letter, Adam read it happily. "I'm from the Hoenn region," he said proudly, "So I haven't seen my family for about a month. Apparently, the Natu's name is Isis." That made sense, the name of an Egyptian goddess for such a beautiful bird.

Grabbing a Pokeball that had been in the envelope, Adam adruptly recalled the Natu. "She'll come in use later," he said happily. So...Adam's team thus far was:

:ralts :male Lv. 7 (gained a level)
:magikarp :female Lv. 10
:natu :female Lv. 5
(for reference)

Distracted by the situation, you didn't notice as you stepped on something' tail...and it bit at your ankle in response. The thing was wearing a collar, but before you could get a close look, the thing ran off. Personally, I'd chase after it if it had bitten me! That, or it could be lost...

"Pachirisu..."

:pachirisu :female Lv. 8

Of course, his partner would recieve a Psychic Pokémon who could not only TELEPORT, but fly. With a smile, Manuel looked at Adam and smirked, "Nice, looks like your ahead of me in Pokémon." He said as he then looked at Abra and grabbed Ari's pokeball off his belt. "Ari, I'm going to spend some time with Dini now, I can't carry you both at once, so I'll let you rest in your pokeball. Return." He called as the beam shot from his pokeball unto his Igglybuff, calling it back for a nice rest.

He then felt something squish under his foot and looked down to see a Pachirisu's tail under his foot. "I'm sorry!" He said as he lifted up his foot and let the little squirrel go, only to recieve a bite to the ankle before the Pachirisu ran away. Not paying too much attention, he hardly even noticed it and just ignored the squirrel as it ran away.

After placing Ari's pokeball on the back of his belt, he looked at Dini and smiled. "Dini, you up for a high-power teleport?" He questioned as he reached into his bag and pulled out a map he had of the region.
I suppose so... but I already said, I need to see a map or something... Dini replied telepathically as Manuel layed out the map on the table for everyone to see.

"See, we are right here." He said before pointing to the city of hurst, then moving his finger along the routes as he pointed towards the city of Tohea. "This is where we want to be. Do you think you can teleport us all there? After Adam put his Pokémon in their pokeballs of course." He said, seeing as the more physical forms that Abra needed to take, the harder it'd be to get all the way there.

I can try... Dini replied as he started focusing his psychic energy. Manuel stood behind him as he put the map back into his backpack, after Dini got a good look at it. "Adam?" He said, wondering if he was going to go or not. Now that Adam had a Natu, he found no reason as to why they couldn't just go now, seeing as if Abra failed to get them to Tohea, they could have Natu take them the rest of the way there.

Adam merely nodded at your comment, and then recalled his Pokémon. Even though Natu could teleport, that didn't mean that it knew the actual move. For all you knew, something else may have teleported the Natu to your location.

Simultaneously, both of you reached out towards Dini as he began to glow with a soft blue light. A funny tingly feeling entered your fingers as the light expanded over the bodies of both you and Adam. The city noises around you were slowly dying as though the volume of a TV was being turned down; soon, the same sounds went mute.

Now, the scenery of the vending stand and the buildings of Hurst started blinking, flickering. Soon, another image joined the flickering image of Hurst, although this one was of a grassy prairie surrounding either side of a well-traveled dirt path. Few humans could be seen, but the supply of wild Pokémon was abundant.

The flickering image of the grassland slowly started to replace the image of Hurst before the city disappeared altogether. All at once, sound returned to your ears and the bodies of Dini, Adam, and yourself stopped glowing. A pleasant smell of warm grass hit your nostrils, and the sounds of Pokémon cries occasionally cut through the air. The wind rustled the tall grass all around you, causing it to bow in its wake.

Wait, this couldn't be Tohea City...

Reading your thoughts, Adam pulled out a map of his own. After browsing it for a moment, he said softly, "Dini's Teleport sorta worked...We're smack in the middle of Route 1, between Tohea City and Hurst. Maybe he only does have to go back to locations that he remembers...He couldn't visualize Tohea."

Well, wasn't this just the breaks? At least you were halfway there....

Looking about, Manuel only saw grass... "Okay... that almost worked... I think?" He said as he looked down at Adam, who was checking his map. "So, we're about half way there..." He said as he got Dini's pokeball and returned his alley, knowing that he must've been tired from the teleporting.

"I don't think it'd be too smart to have Dini teleport us back... so I guess either we hike back to Hurst, or onwards to Tohea." He said, pointing in a random direction as he walked on towards, hopefully, Tohea. "I wonder if I can find myself a Vulpix around here... they are plain-inhabiting fox Pokémon... so I can't see why they WOULDN'T be in a place like this..." He said, as he just walked slowly down the route.

"Ari, let's go!" He said, as on a random instinct he grabbed his Igglybuff's pokeball and released his Pokémon out ahead of him. "Ari, we are going towards Tohea..." He said, not adding that he wasn't completely sure, but smiling as he looked at her.

"Iggly.."

Ofcourse, this was the perfect environment to catch yourself a Vulpix, but if you were on a hurry to Tohea, you may not have the time to look closely for one. If i were you, id spend some time looking for one.

Your Igglybuff began trodding along infront of you, before it stopped in its tracks. The top of its head twitched slightly as it looked from side to side, and then pounced back into your arms. "Whats up with her?" Adam asked taking a step by your side. Before either of you could say a word further, the ground began to rumble quite furociously. A few dozen Pidgey and Starly began to fly out of tree's and away into the sky, escaping from something.

On the horizon, down the route. A cloud of smoke seemed to get bigger and bigger as it was coming towards you. The ground started to tremble even more as your Igglybuff hid its face into your chest.

A few seconds later the image was visible, a Tauros! Both you and Adam were able to see it. "We need to get out of here!" Adam said as he quickly looked to the tree's on the side of the route. He quickly darted over there, only to stop and fall flat on his back. "Spin..!" A fairly large spider hissed as it opened its fangs wide.

This Tauros didn't look like it was going to be stopped, and that Spinarak didn't look like it was going to let you in either. If i were you, id use some force power. On the other hand, you did have your own personal teleport.

Manuel looked at the Tauros as it darted towards them and he then looked at Adam, who was currently about to be bitten by a Spinarak. "Ari! Dini! Let's go!" He commanded as he threw his two pokeballs into the air, one more so towards Adam, the other more so towards Tauros.

Soon enough, Ari appeared beside Adam looking confused as ever, but then saw Spinarak and gave her dark iggly-smirk. Dini appeared before Tauros, looking a bit... confused to say the least.

"ARI! I need you to use that Roll Out attack you just learned, so Defense Curl, then Agility!" He commanded as he knew that a sing attack oulwnd't work on the spider, or atleast, he was pretty sure it wouldn't work. Turning over to Dini, Manuel then gulped loudly. "Dini! I want you to teleport a few feet ahead of Tauros, then use Ice Punch on the ground so that it is slippery, then hurry back with another Teleport!" Manuel ordered, hoping that the attack would work.

I don't want either of these Pokémon... but if I can trade them... Manuel thought to himself as he hoped his combinations would work.

The Tauros lowered its head, preparing to strike a ferocious Headbutt at Ari. Adam had called out his Natu, and it was angrily squaring off with the Spinarak. All of you hovered on the edge of a battle when...

"Ay! What's goin' on here?! Butch, have you and Pasiphae been annoyin' bystanders agin?" a slang-filled female voice cut across everything, making everyone stop short. Turning around, you and Adam spotted a girl of seventeen with long, red hair that was done up in a ponytail. She wore a sky blue shirt under denim coveralls, soiled brown rubber boots, and a straw hat to protect her face from the sun.

"I'm terribly sorry about that, misters," she said, bowing to you both as she recalled the Spinarak. "The Spinarak is my 'guard bug', Pasiphae. I find her web traps useful. The Tauros is my Pokémon and head male, Butch. Both of 'em must've seen you as a threat."

She then went on to explain that you had trodden near her Miltank farm. There, she bred Miltank with Tauros and raised them for their milk and for fine breeding. "For hand-outs to trainers and to sell to other profiting farms," she had said. Apparently, you and Adam had appeared slightly off of the main path to Tohea and ended up in one of their pastures.

"I can show you around, hope that works better than apologizin'," the girl said. "By the way, mah name's Betsy. I'll also throw in some free Miltank Milk for the road."

So...Interested? Adam looked at you and shrugged, as though he was unsure of what to do. The whole situation seemed to rest on your shoulders.

Manuel sighed once he realized that the Pokémon wern't wild. "Ari, Dini, return." He said as he recalled his Pokémon and put their balls back on his belt. He heard the girl explain about her Pokémon and sighed. Guess I wont be catching myself two new Pokémon today. He thought before smiling to the girl.

"There's no need to apologize anyways, it's our fault for actually appearing here." He said, with a sligh bow to show he was sorry and then stood up straight once more. "My name is Manuel, this is Adam. And we should be on our way, we are headed to Tohea... and I myself was thinking about catching a Growlithe or Vulpix on the way there." He said with a smile as he looked at Adam, who had shrugged at him.

"Anyways, we should be on our way. Do you know which way we should be going? Or where I might be able to find myself a Growlithe or Vulpix?" He wondered, then looked at his Poketech for the time... wondering how long they had until dark.

Betsy looked a little disappointed; she probably got lonely, and didn't seem to mind giving out tours. "Well, here's some Miltank Milk fer the road," she said, handing you a canteen full of the stuff. A sweet smell came from it; perhaps this stuff wouldn't be too bad, eh?

And as fer Vulpix, I have here a little 'un that I nursed back ter health," Betsy continued, releasing a baby fox from a Pokeball that she brandished from her pockets. A little baby Vulpix appeared with a squeak of pure cuteness and nuzzled Betsy's leg. "I think she lost her mama," she added sadly. "Problem is, most of my stock don't like fire types, it scares 'em since there was a forest fire a while back. I don't want to give her off, but you can have her for all the trouble that my Pokémon have caused."

:vulpix :female Lv. 5

Well, wasn't that nice? Betsy the hick girl had a Vulpix on hand for you, ready-made for training. The baby didn't seem anxious to leave her farm paradise, but it was fairly obvious that she knew that most of Betsy's cattle couldn't stand her. A sad story, but then again, you did want a graceful Vulpix, correct?

"Gee, thanks!" Adam said, taking the milk container for you. He assumed you didn't really want it, so why not? "Erm, do you happen to know what time it is, Betsy?" he added stupidly. Like you, he was slightly disappointed with not being able to battle, but your budding psychic trainer companion had a bit more patience than you.

"It's 4:30, son," she said to Adam before turning back to you. "Can I trust yas to raise her proper?" Her English could be better, but Betsy's meaning was quite plain. Would you take good care of this Vulpix?

Unknown to you, a goddess behind the scenes is also asking for compensation for this offer...Use it wisely!

Jaw to the floor after seeing that Betsy had a Vulpix, Manuel's eyes widened as he was left speechless. Though, this hadn't meant that he hadn't seen her when he said they should be on their way, and felt a bit sad now. I doubt many people come by here... maybe we can stay... just a little while. He thought, and then smiled some.

"Only if you are sure," He said, obviously talking about the Vulpix, and taking her. "Though, I think Adam and I could take a little time off to stick around here a while." He said as he tilted his head slightly and continued to smile at her.

Looking down at the Vulpix, Manuel began thinking on the Pokémon that he had always dreamed of training since he was little. They have the flash fire ability... which means that if it is struck with a fire-type move, it's fire-type attacks will become stronger. He thought, then kneeled down before the Vulpix and reached into his bag before pulling out a handful of Pokémon food. "Hungry?" He asked, holding his hand out to the Vulpix so that she could eat some of the food, trust him a little.

Manuel then heard her say that it was 4:30 and stopped trying to figure his poketech out as he sighed. Hm... 4:30... about 2 and half to three hours before it gets dark... He thought, before turning up to Betsy to realize that she was speaking with him. "Well, I will care for Vulpix as best I can, I'm sure she'll fit right in with my other two Pokémon." He said with a smile, before turning to Adam briefly.

"But, I don't want this to be that I just come here, and take your Pokémon. How about I help you out here? Y'know, we could help with your cattle and such." Manuel suggested since he had seen that Betsy was saddened earlier when he denied the tour, and wanting to be fair about Vulpix, it was the first thing to come to mind. "I have Abra, who would be ideal for taking things across the place quickly with teleport, and my Igglybuff could use the physical work, it'll help her when she learns some offensive moves of her own."

Manuel soon felt a chill down his spine as he shivered slightly. Uugggghh.... It feels like someone is watching me. He thought before looking up into the sky, then back down to Adam and Betsy. "So, what dya say? Even exchange?"

The Vulpix sniffed at the food in your hand with interest. She seemed a little reluctant, but her stomach won over. Trying the food, she found it to her liking and happily squeaked in pleasure. Perhaps she wanted some more? Indeed, she seemed to like you already.

When you agreed to stay, both Betsy and Adam smiled. Your traveling companion felt safer spending the night in someone's house, and for Betsy...she wouldn't be lonely. Perhaps this was all for the best...and you wouldn't be threatened by any wild Pokémon by staying outside.

"Sure, come on!" Betsy said, so excited that she nearly dragged you and Adam with her. "If you 'uns are rearin' to help, I could sure use some. I live with my grandfather, but he's gettin' old and has a poor memory. I just need some help gettin' the Miltank and Tauros in for the night. Coming, Pasiphae?" The Spinarak chirped in reply and crawled up onto her shoulder.

For about an hour, Betsy gave you a quick tour of the farm. Right next to a nice-looking wooden farmhouse was a red-painted barn, with a ton of fencing surrounding it. Some Miltank and Tauros were grazing about a mile away; this was the herd that you had to bring in, no doubt. There was also a barn where milking machines were kept, and a small tool shed was behind the house, right by a vast garden. A young Skitty prowled around, stationed to keep rodent-like Pokémon away from some grain houses and a silo that were near the barn. All in all, it was a budding farm.

"So...How are we going to do this?" Adam inquired Betsy, as both of you tramped out with her towards the herd. (Try not to step in...anything).

"Pasiphae usually makes thinner 'fencing' with String Shot to make the cattle feel more pressed in so that they'll move towards the barns. Then, I usually drive them in with some shouting. We used to have an Arcanine to help me, but he died recently..." her voice trailed away a moment before resuming. "Problem is, I may need some help drivin' them in towards the barn since it's matin' season. Most of them get a little boisterous and wild durin' it."

:tauros & :miltank (Multiple)

So...Going to help her out? If you had a plan, now would be the time to use it.

After having discovered that Vulpix liked the food, Manuel smiled and looked at Betsy. "I guess I will be taking Vulpix with me then." He said with a smile as he got back onto his feet and started the tour with Betsy, Vulpix by his side.

Soon enough, the tour came to an end and Manuel and Adam had to get to work now. "Okay, I think I have just the plan." Manuel smirked as he grabbed the two pokeballs off his belt and threw them outwards, releasing his Igglybuff and Abra. "Ari, Dini, we are gonna help Betsy here. So, you two will need to follow my orders PRECISELY, okay?" He questioned, to recieve nods from the two Pokémon.

"Vulpix, if you could, do you think you could help us too?" He asked, and then looked outwards hoping that Vulpix would agree to help him. "Okay, Ari, I want you to leap into the air and use Defense Curl to max power, then hurry and use agility to roll vertically towards the Tauros and Miltank. I want you to spin around them as quickly as you can until you get them all into one spot." Manuel started his orders simply, before looking over to Vulpix once more.

"Vulpix, if you can, I want you to use Ember into the air, then jump through it. This should activate your ability, Flash Fire. Then, I want you to pay close attention to what happens out on the field, if you see that the Tauros or Miltank are trying to harm my Igglybuff, I want you to hurry and use Agility to run up ahead of them, and release a threatening ember, but don't hit any of them." His orders to the fox Pokémon were simple aswell, as he smiled and turned his head towards his other Fox-like Pokémon partner, Dini.

"Dini, you have a pretty easy job. Remember how Betsy gave us a tour of the area? I want you to focus on the barn area she showed us, and I want you to use Teleport on the Tauros and Miltank to get them into that Barn. Since the Pokémon will be pretty closely grouped together, there shouldn't be too much of a problem getting them mostly over there. Though, if you notice that Vulpix and Ari are in trouble, I want you to use teleport to appear before them, and attack using Ice Punch. Though, I still want your primary focus to be on teleporting the Miltank and Tauros." He finished up his plot as he smirked and put a hand on his little fox-human's head.

Ari smiled towards Manuel at her orders and nodded as she leapt into the air, hurriedly curling into a ball and gathering up as much defensive power as she could to become rock hard. When she had enough, she started spinning in mid air, then took off on the ground towards the Tauros and Miltank, collecting dirt and rocks into her balloon-like skin in order to be able to attack if things got out of hand.

Dini on the other hand, collected energy from all over his body as he focused on the Pokémon, waiting for them to be in the perfect position for him to teleport them to the barn. "Abra..." He called lightly as he focused on the barn aswell, remembering that it was red, and thus allowing him to visual a perfect image of the building.

Manuel looked at Vulpix, then at Betsy and smiled. "Adam, why not have Ralts do some training here too? Maybe have him transfer some of his psychic power to Dini, even help put some stragglers into the group with confusion. Those would be great ways to train his confusion attack." He smirked, then remembered that Adam also had the Psychic-Bird Pokémon, Natu on his team. "You could also try and have Natu use his ability, Synchronize, to get on the same wave length as Dini, then maybe he'd be able to focus his own psychic energy into using teleport too, that way the success rate of putting all the Pokémon into the barn will increase." He smirked, having thought things threw in an instant.

As your Igglybuff got closer to the herd of Tauros and Miltank Vulpix made a flaming circle in the air and jumped through it, his flame body activating. He landed and moved in closer, keeping a close eye on your Igglybuff, making sure that she didn’t get hurt by one of the Pokémon that she was herding, quite effectively I might add, into a small group.

As the group got ever smaller stragglers became more of a problem. Most of them were easily handled by a close call from Igglybuff, but a few decided they were going to take things into their own hands, or hooves in this case.

They stampeded directly at your Igglybuff, but missed by quite a bit as your Abra teleported her to a safe distance, not quite what you ordered but it worked well enough that it did its job. Vulpix decided to go after the stragglers and started running towards them. The small fox Pokémon opened its mouth and let out 3 embers in a rox, each one forming a line until it all created a semi barrier of flames in front of the Taurus and a Miltank.

The Pokémon quickly stopped and turned around, heading away from the insane fire Pokémon and his darned barriers. Hey, they were smart, they didn’t want to end up as ground beef. Before the fire got out of control your Igglybuff rolled over the flames at high speeds, putting them out quite effectively.

As the fires were dying and the stragglers were being teleported into the barn by Abra. Unfortunately there was one Tauros that refused to be teleported, and kept running in random directions to make it hard for your Abra to focus on him long enough to teleport him into the barn.

The Tauros decided it was done playing games and made a bee-line towards your Abra, making sure to move from side to side after using agility to increase his speed as well as the difficulty of focusing on him. A few feet away from your Abra the Giant beast reared up and came down with his hooves right on top of your Abra.

After the first agonizing seconds passed you noticed the Abra was no were to be seen, although it was easy to guess what it had done. It had obviously teleported to the barn to escape harm. As you whipped your head in relief a scream sounded from Betsy as the Taurus ran directly at her, intent on causing pain to someone today.

Oh no, Betsy was in trouble, what would you do know? It would take a few seconds before your Abra got back, but by then it might be too late. You better act now or the Tauros would be scrubbing his hooves on the grass to get Betsy off them.

Manuel looked over at Adam, and was a bit angered that he hadn't done anything but quickly got over it when he heard Betsy scream, and on he shouted out commands to his Pokémon. "Ari! Hurry and use agility again! Ram into Tauros!" He ordered as he then looked at Vulpix, "Vulpix, I want you to use Agility once more, and when you get in to range, jump into the air and rotate around quickly while sending embers out towards Tauros!" He continued to order, before looking at Adam.

Ari quickly changed course as she was still in her roll out attack, and began spinning on the ground quickly with Agiltiy before she shot out quickly towards Tauros, making sure to use a second agility while she darted, and then a defense curl to increase the toughness of her skin.

Vulpix on the other hand, darted towards Tauros from the opposite side ni which Ari was going, her fur dazzling with Flash Fire -not Fire Body. "Vulpix!" She called as she darted towards Tauros, speed increasing as she did so, then leapt into the air and started releasing her pellets outwards.

Manuel looked around to see if Abra had returned, and gulped before he started to think, hoping that Abra would be able to pick up telepathically. Dini, if you can here me, we are in HUGE trouble. Betsy is about to be attacked by a Tauros, I need you here. When you get back, I need you to use Ice Punch on Tauros, or on the ground ahead of Tauros so that it'll fall away from Betsy. He thought, hoping that Dini would hear and be able to perform it.

He then turned to Adam, and looked at him a bit angrily. "Adam! I need you to help me here, I know you've never been in a battle, but you are going to have to get over that and help me!" He ordered desperately, not wanting to see Betsy's guts all over the floor. "If anything, have Ralts use Confusion to lift Betsy up out of the way, or even to just blast Tauros away from her." He said, calming down a bit but still very distressed.
