The bus ride from Tohea to Hurst was a little bumpy, and you could have sworn it was less crowded when you got on the bus. During the trip to the industrious city the bus slowed down to pick up a few extra people along the way, those who missed the pervious bus and didn't want to wait for the next one. Now you felt almost squished between a fat lady and a fat man, possibly husband and wife by the way they kept chatting your ear off. But the ride was pretty much uneventful, as it at last arrived in the middle of Hurst and let the passengers off. As soon as you step off the bus, you notice that it's almost like a completely different world as Tohea. A permanent layer of soot was imbeded into the street, and a thick cloud that covered the sky above. Yet everything between was almost clean as a whistle. Everyone pushed past you as you stopped to admire the view, the fat couple knocking you forward and almost onto the ground. They continued past, and you notice a wallet fell from the fat man's back pocket after bumping into you. |

Finally, he had arrived. Manuel smiled as the bus came to a stop, not only because he would now start his journey, but because he was practically dying in the bus between a fat couple. As he started to get off the bus, with simply his belt and bag, he was hurriedly pushed off by the fat man's... uhm... fat, and nearly fell onto the ground, if it wern't for his oh-so-nice sense of balance, he was sure he would've fallen. "Ari, let's go." Manuel called as he grabbed his pokeball and threw it outwards once he was safely away from passengers getting off the bus. "Iggly?" A small, pink Pokémon popped out from the pokeball as it looked at Manuel with wide eyes, a cute smile, and an adorable ability to make Manuel smile. "Iggly, buuuff" She said, as she jumped into the air and cutely snuggled into her trainer's chest. "Aww, so cute." He said as he wrapped his arms around his new partner, and watched her turn around so that her face was out of his chest. "So, where do we go first?" He asked his partner, who simply pointed down at the floor where a wallet seemed to be lying peacefully. "Oh, I wonder who's that is." He said as he walked over, and picked up the wallet, opening it to find that it was the fat man's from before, "Oh great, I guess we should return it." He said as he looked around for the man, keeping the wallet closed, and making sure to keep it hidden incase someone came along and wanted to steal it from him. |

The large man was only a few feet away from the bus stop, his wheezing form wobbling farther away at a slow pace. He didn't look like he could go anywhere in a hurry, being as large as he was. Thankfully, returning the wallet should be rather easy, unless he accused you of stealing the wallet to begin with. You could always keep the money inside and the man would be none the wiser! However, before you even had a chance to take a step forward... "'Torb." A Voltorb had rolled across the sidewalk in front of you, its voice sounding sickly and frail before it crossed the street and continued to roll away, disappearing behind a building. Others noticed the round Pokémon, people whispering if that was the same badly poisoned Voltorb that escaped from a Pokémon Center. Strangely, no one went to check on the round Pokémon, unsure if the Voltorb would attack. The crowd from the bus soon dispersed, however, leaving you as one of the lone individuals at the station. |

Manuel walked about, then noticed as the man from before was standing only a few paces ahead of him, exhausted of course. "Hey! S-" He called out, but was cut off by a loud, sort of buzzing noise as a voltorb rolled out ahead of him. "What's that?" He asked himself, grabbing his pokedex in his free arm while Ari was still nestled in his other arm. He pointed the pokedex at the Pokémon, and waited for the information. "Iggly..." Ari said as she looked up at her trainer, who was looking down at voltorb. "Iggly..." She tucked her body into Manuel's chest, afraid of the little thing. Manuel, after hearing the voltorb, and feeling his igglybuff pushing against him, decided to take in a bit more information, something the pokedex couldn't provice. "That Pokémon is Sick," He said, having heard the kind of sickly sound that came from the Pokémon. He then heard some other information from surrounding trainers, and decided to chase after the Pokémon. As he ran after the Pokémon, he wondered why it had escaped the center, and still wanting to know how he could help it, he tried to figure something out. "Why can't someone just appear and help me?" He said to himself, kidding of course, but at the same time... not. ((come on In Total Spaz ^^)) |

Larken could be seen from quite a distance, huffing and puffing, panting as he finally spotted the bus station. He smiled a wide grin as he saw that he was nearing it. One trainer stood there. He looked a bit odd... After all, most males didn't get an Igglybuff as a starter. Larken sped off ahead of Manuel and Ari, heading straight for the Voltorb. He had to get there before the trainer he had seen did, who had since started running. Larken made it a sudden life goal to retrieve that Voltorb first... He had to. Maybe they'd even let it keep him - after all, a Voltorb was a very useful Pokémon, and a great distraction for younger Pokémon. He was catching up, he knew he was, probably because the Voltorb was sick and barely running. The poor thing was half-dead by now, that was for sure, and Larken had to get there. The envy-vested trainer jumped over the Voltorb and skidding to a stop, spinning around to face the round Pokémon. He kept his eyes locked on the figure, reaching in his back for a Pokeball absentmindedly. He put on a kind smile and approached the Voltorb cautiously, afraid it would electrify in its pain, or just because it was afraid of him. Then he realized it might not even have enough energy to do either. Larken hurled the red and white Pokeball at the red and white Pokémon before him, hoping beyond hope he would catch it. If he did, he would already have gained himself some reputation in Hurst... And to think, he had just become a trainer recently, and had just entered Hurst about half an hour ago. Fame he thought to himself, smiling in real life and crossing his fingers for luck. |

The large man seemed to ignore Manuel trying to get his attention, even if Manuel was only briefly speaking until distracted. The Voltorb continued to roll away, heading deeper into an alley, seemingly going no where in particular. The little bits of gravel were beginning to bite into its exterior as it began to slow down, its HP becoming rather low with the poison still in effect. Very slowly its eyes were opening and closing in an attempt to keep itself moving. Larken jumped over the Voltorb with his speed, running past Manuel who also went to follow the round Pokémon. The Voltorb stopped as Larken slowly began to approach it. "'Torb," it meekly spoke, a sign it didn't like Larken coming any closer. As the red and white Pokeball flung itself toward the Voltorb--the Pokeman far too weak to stop it from hitting him-- the ball opened up, only for it to lay flat on the ground, still open, as the Voltorb stared at Larken. "'Torb." You can't catch an already caught Pokémon. "You there!" The large man from the bus station huffed, kneeling over as sweat began to pour down his forehead. His deep voice was muffled with his gasps of breath as he turned toward Manuel. "Give me back my wall--" The man stopped in mid-sentence, seeing the Voltorb. "Volter?" "'Torb!" "You found my Voltorb!" The Voltorb rolled across the pavement near the large man as it was gathered in the man's thick arms. "Pesky thing. I told you I'd be back when I could." The man pulled out an antidote from his long coat, forcing the Voltorb to consume the liquid inside as the poison was staunched. The Pokémon still needed to get to the Pokémon Center, but he was cured long enough to keep the poison from spreading any further. "Now then," the man spoke, regaining his composure and staring at Manuel. "Give me back the wallet that you stole. And you sir," turning toward Larken, "should be ashamed in trying to catch my Pokémon." |

Manuel looked confused, first by the trainer who had attempted to catch the Pokémon, then by the man claiming that the Voltorb was his, and finally, by the fat man calling him a thief. His look changed from one of confusion, to one of surprise, to confusion again, then to anger as he was accused of thievery. Looking at the fat man, his eyes went cold while he tossed the wallet at his belly fat, "Call me a thief again, and you'll have hell to pay." His voice was cold, something very rare for him as he was normally a pecimest(the calm one, I never remember which one it is >.>) . "Iggly?" Ari jumped out of Manuel's arms and landed infront of him looking out at the fat trainer, then back towards the other trainer. "Iggly, Igglybuff..." She spoke to Manuel, as if trying to tell him something, then she turned back to the fat trainer and looked at him offensively. "IGGLYBUFF! IGGLY!" She threatened, telling him to release a healthy Pokémon for a battle, but then again, hadn't he just arrived like Manuel, was it possible that he already had another Pokémon? Manuel looked at his igglybuff, who wasn't one to fight, and was surprised to see her stand up for her trainer. "Ari, calm down." He said, speaking in his normal tone of a caring parental figure before looking at the man once again. "See, my Igglybuff has problems when people anger me, and she will go off easily. So, Unless you plan on apologizing, I challenge you to a battle." He said, completely ignoring the trainer from before. |

Larken's jaw dropped as the Voltorb popped out, and the story slowly unraveled. So the fat guy owned the Voltorb, and had apparently thought that the trainer with the Igglybuff was a thief. Larken smirked at this. He was probably wrong anyways, the stupid fool. He walked up to the man, and lazily chucked a Pokeball from his belt into the air. A beam of light produced a figure, a green one with viny arms twisted up over its normally stout and rotund body. Larken smiled maliciously at the man, and readied his insulting speech. "I don't know who you are you manical old codger, but this Voltorb has been wandering the streets, if you haven't noticed by now. Your carelessness as given "Volter", which by the way is a horrible name, very low health and probably a lower standard of its feelings for you. I had no intention of stealing anything, but of course here comes the puffing fat man, seeing that his Voltorb is weak as crap from his own problems. Oh, and this boy here is STEALING the thing! I'll get a bit sarcastic here if you don't mind: Who cares if that Voltorb was being chased by many citizens, as there was a lost sign posted up. You should know that trainers everywhere will be trying to catch it..." Larken stated plainly, keeping an aggervated face and panting at the end in slight anger. Synthe stayed quite still, but had her eyes, which were showing no emotion, locked to the fat man. She occasionally looked at her new trainer, which she hadn't formally met before. Larken decided introductions would come after this. "And could you give me ONE reason why this guy stole your wallet? He has an IGGLYBUFF for heaven's sake," Larken turned to Manuel, "No offense on your side, though. |

The real story? The man was in a fight with a Drowzee who managed to plant a successful Poison Gas maneuver on Voltorb. After the fight, the man had business to attend to as he dropped his Voltorb at the Pokémon Center to be healed as he went to do his duties. However, the Voltorb left in search of its own trainer by escaping before being healed. For all the large man knew, some kid took his wallet the moment he stepped off the bus, and another kid was trying to steal the Voltorb that was looking for him. None of this was looking well for either of the young trainers. The man held his Voltorb firmly, clumsily catching his wallet the moment Manuel tossed it to him. His brow wrinkled in anger as the words came out that the kid wanted him to apologize? What did he do wrong? Speak his mind? "Why I never!" The large man's statement trailed, clearly flustered and upset. Children trainers these days! How rude! The moment Larken began the name calling, the explanation and everything else, the large man could no longer speak. With his face red, cheeks puffed, and breath heavy, he pulled out another Pokeball, eying both Budew and the Igglybuff. Are you ready for this? Tossing the Pokeball as it opened, a bright, white light engulfed the area as a "You children want a fight, then a fight you will receive! A Gentlemen never makes the first move." An insult and a polite gesture all rolled in one. "Let this battle commence seeing as how I refuse to apologize to naive, adolescent trainers who think they know how the world works!" Lvl. 9

Manuel smirked, "Why am I not surprised that a fat trainer, has a gluttonous Pokémon?" He insulted dully as he looked at Ari. He then turned to the trainer with the Budew and smiled, "Oh my, a Budew. I've always loved the little things, I have a soft-spot for baby Pokémon." He said with a warm smile, much different from the smirk he gave the fat man. "Anyways, I'll take this fat ass if you don't mind, It'll be easier for me and my igglybuff to take him anyways. And, with the combination I plan on using, I dun think you'd want your Budew out here anyways." Ari, having been listening to Manuel's words, instantly knew what combination they would be using, and smiled. "Iggly!" She said with a a grin as she took a small leap into the air with excitement, she had only recently learned this combination, on the boat actually, and was roaring to try it out. Manuel looked back at the fat man and his munchlax and smirked, "Okay, Ari. Start things off with a Charm to lower that things defense, then quickly move in with one of your two songs!" His words were quick, as he knew his Igglybuff knew that she had the option of which song she would sing, either the one that put people to sleep, or the one that knocked Pokémon who heard it out in three turns. Ari nodded, and smiled as she decided to use her sleeping song, though she knew that to use that song she'd have to be upclose to the munchlax, or she'd put her trainer to sleep aswell. "Iggly!" She said, and that was when the battle began for her. |

Larken snickered as the dark blue obese Pokémon emerged from the even-fatter man's Pokeball. It was kind of funny to see this little comparison going on, fitting so neatly and equal - the man must've chosen the Munchlax himself. Larken almost felt sorry for his weight for a second but then started laughing by the attitude that came with it, which was so rude for two young trainers trying to help the old fool. He smiled a too-sweet smile at the man, backing away to get a good stance from to command Synthe to attack from. Then, the trainer next to him told him to let him fight. That wasn't alright. Judging from the scene Synthe had overlooked from her point on the ground, she was also giggling about the man's Pokémon. The stupid thing probably couldn't attack at all. The little Budew waddled over to Larken and poked him in the leg. She looked up at him with narrowed eyes and small smirk... demonic for such a cute flowery Pokémon like a Budew. Larken smiled down at her with an acknowledging expression and looked back up at Manuel and the Munchlax. He apologetically spoke to the trainer. "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to fight this one as well. I will not give up my first battle, however it would be fine if we both fought. If it's up to chubby's standards that is..." Larken looked up at the man with a fake sad face, and then he looked back down at Synthe. "Send out your next Pokémon if you have one buddy, otherwise you'll be fighting Synthe and the Igglybuff. They're both stronger than they look." Larken had always admired Igglybuff when he was younger, enjoying spending time scanning the information on the puffball and approving of its useful moves. Budew also knew so moves on the other hand, and one that Synthe knew that was special. "Alright Synthe, let's start off with Sweet Scent to get everyone feeling pretty and dizzy!" Larken commanded the Budew, though in a kind way as trainer's did to their Pokémon. Synthe stared around in wonder, and attempted her first move, a simple Sweet Scent. |

((Lol, Loon randomly chose this attack for me.)) The man's nose twitched at the lack of respect, trying to keep himself as calm as possible. His face once again flushed with anger as he clenched his fingers into fists. What was it with children not respecting their elders? Did he look like someone who could be used for a punching bag? Given an abrupt hmph, the children obviously didn't know who they were speaking to. With that, they would get severely punished. Not by him, oh no, but by the fact he was Hurst's City most wealthiest man, if they ticked him off, by any means would they not be able to buy anything in this city. Figuratively. He really couldn't control what people could do. "I, good sirs, don't need another Pokémon to stop you both." The man simply looked at the Budew and Igglybuff and looked at his Munchlax. No doubt his Pokémon was much more powerful than the other two combined (in his own thoughts, at least). Being its cute little self, the Igglybuff quickly maneuvered to charm the Munchlax as it watched the little pink fluff. Rapidly enjoying itself, the Munchlax swayed back and forth in its own cuteness, using both its fingers to go with its rhythm. Perhaps knowing End Song could end the battle a bit prematurely, the Igglypuff quickly unleashed a soft, melodious tune that quickly caused not only the Munchlax to grow tired, but everyone else. Combined with the Sweet Scent of the Budew's, everyone--trainer and Pokémon alike--was either suffering from the sudden need to sleep, or trippy illusions, or even both. The Munchlax swayed again back and forth, seeing illusions once again. With its constant swaying, and before finally going to sleep... it unleashed it's most devastating attack. Metronome! A final gasp of breath unleashed a chilled air that swarmed the alley, coating the ground and walls in sparkles of ice as the blizzard attack briefly crossed those in front of the Munchlax. Due to it falling asleep, however, the Blizzard only had half its power, and thankfully, no one was frozen. [I noticed that I've been calling my character Larken. My character on Althea' is Larken, but here it's Velum. xD] Synthe felt the cool chill of the biting Blizzard, even though it wasn't as powerful as it could possibly be. She shivered in the cold, bit hard because of grass being weak against ice attacks. Velum cursed under his breath as Synthe ran towards him to be warm, but he himself was shivering as well. But as it had come, the burst of cold breeze and ice on the ground disappeared just as the Munchlax fell asleep thanks to Manuel's Igglybuff. Velum stared in hatred at the man and his Pokémon. How dare he excuse two young trainers who thieving. It was wrong because he didn't know the full story and had no right to blame such younglings. With a quick and destructive thought about the man, Velum bent down next to Synthe, who still shivered, and told her a command. "Alright, time to get on the offensive Synthe. Let's start this off with a Leaf Storm on the Munchlax. Try to fight your sleepiness, because I'm tired too. It was a good move, but that trainer's too new to know that it effects us all, even if it's close up." Velum made sure to whisper his speech so Manuel couldn't hear him. When he was done speaking and Synthe had boldly strutted back near the Munchlax, the shaggy blonde walked up to Manuel casually. "Hey, I'm Velum Caris." He nodded and held out his hand for the trainer to shake it. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see his young Budew mustering up energy from around her, as well as leaves to perform her Egg Move, Leaf Storm. Since that was a special move she had gained, it could possibly be harder to use the attack. Velum was confident about her usage though - he was sure she would back down if it was too much, and that was fine with him. |

Manuel turned to the trainer beside him, and frowned as he spoke, "Sorry for screwing that up, though," He said looking back up with a smile, "it's much better that my Igglybuff decided to use Sing, rather then her egg move." He said with a smirk as he shook the guys hand, "Manuel Okami." Manuel then turned to the battle and smirked to see that the Munchlax had fallen asleep, so he decided it was a nice time to start going on the offense. "Ari, quickly, before the Munchlax wakes up, I want you to jump into the air, right above Munchlax. Then, use Defense Curl to back away from the effects of Sweet Scent, and quickly, in the round state, use Body Slam on Munchlax!" Manuel commanded, not wanting to sound to demanding or anything, but he knew that Ari had the potention to pull of a new attack. He then looked about to notice that everyone was pretty sleepy, and he frowned, he and Ari had practiced enough that the sleepiness took very little effect on him, but sooner or later, he would fall asleep, but better later, then sooner. "Iggly... BUFF!" Ari said as she stood beside her trainer, waiting for her partner to fire her attack, so that she could perform her attacks. |

Velum's Budew quickly hopped farther away from its trainer, summoning a great deal of energy within herself to create the Leaf Storm. Like a mysterious, invisible hand, leaves that fell from the sporadic trees gathered from the street, quickly being brought into the alley as the Budew began to strain itself. As the leaves gathered, each one whirled around the still sleeping Munchlax, sleeping soundly as the large trainer wobbled to stay awake. "Munchy, wake up!" The Munchlax didn't hear him as the leaves suddenly lanced into its flash. The Munchlax's eyes shot open, pain receding into its body as the leaves continued to slice. "MUUUUUUUUUUUUNCH!" It jumped to its feet, beginning to run back and forth through the alley as the leaves finally died down. Velum's Budew felt the strain of the attack as she grew weary, using a tremendous amount of energy to summon the leaves. However, just before the Munchlax woke up, the Igglybuff jumped and landed on the Munchlax's head with a hefty Body Slam, and was nearly effected by the Leaf Storm as well if it wasn't for its Defense Curl. "Slam your head into the wall!" The rolly-polly man ordered. The Munchlax lowered its head, with the Igglypuff still attached, and slammed its head into a concrete wall. Suddenly dizzy, the Munchlax collapsed as it let out a, "Muuuunch... laaaax..." Seeing the stars above its head, using its fingers to try and touch the shapes, the large man grumbled underneath his breath as the Voltorb let out a "'Torb" in confidence. "Muuunchlax!" The Munchlax seemed too involved with the stars as he laid down, flinched from the headbutt into the wall. Perhaps not the best of orders from the larger man...
