Hello. Gotta get used to this, never done a Pokémon forum before. This battle's gonna have specific rules for the set-up to make as much creativity as possible. Here are the rules. -If it isn't found in the Red and Blue Pokémon games, they aren't welcome. -No Legends (Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Mewtwo, Mew) -Only one starter evolution (Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venasaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard) -All Pokémon are level 65 -No made-up Pokémon. Though this would normally be under the "Only Red/Blue" rule, I'm just double checking :-) -Have fun! Sorry for the specifics, but I just want to adjust pretty easy. I need someone to battle me and someone to referee please. Here's my team ![]() :Female :Female ![]() :Female:electabuzz ![]() I'm using my created character. I don't have a profile yet, but my creation sheet is in the creation section if you want to look. :-) Have Fun! ^.^ |

Cody stepped out onto the arena. The crowd was anxiously looking on. Cody looked calm and collective as he faced his opponent. He was facing the legendary Koga. The master of poison, his venom was feared across the land. But Cody's venom had not been witnessed yet. Cody was about to show why he considered himself the best there is. And with the way he fought, he might not be wrong. The crowd booed as Cody reached towards his belt. He did not wish to big-talk his opponent, because it only makes people look foolish. But the crowd was obviously on Koga's side, considering his social status which couldn't be blamed. Cody didn't care though. He knew this was his time to shine. Cody finally selected a Pokeball, and decided to open this battle up in a big way. And what bigger then his biggest Pokémon? Cody didn't say anything out loud, but rather merely grabbed the ball off his waist, and threw it in front of him. Out popped a serpent. This large blue serpent was over twenty feet long, and over a quarter of a ton in weight. This beast was the unstoppable Gyarados. For a Gyrados, she seemed more calm then most, and did not make a lot of noise as she stood in front of her trainer. Cody merely smiled, hiding his eyes behind his hair. Now for Koga to tremble... |

In his usual calm composure, Koga stood alone on the field awaiting his challenger. Though a thousand challengers had fallen before him, he knew not to underestimate any new challenger. The wind blew slowly through his violet cape, making the ninja appear as a great statue of a battle long past. The first challenger in several months to reach the third elite four member approached and revealed his first Pokémon, floating in a great mystic water, it was the great and usually very unruly Gyarados. "Hmm...must have some skill in training to harness that kind of beast. Yet, how like a young a trainer to rely on a brute force Pokémon." "This should be over quickly." Koga muttered. "Its just another young trainer that out-muscled Bruno." Flicking his wrist, out came two pokeballs, the first, his beloved venomoth, merely floated down and landed on the great trainers head. The second, instinctually knew he was in battle and started off with his usual starting strategy. The Pokémon appeared only as an orange blur and then as many copies of the same Pokémon, a raichu. "You see," said Koga, "You can attack as much as you like, if you don't know where your opponent is, you will always miss and just exhaust your Pokémon without delivering any effect to mine. This is my first lesson to offer you." Then he addressed his Pokémon, "Rai, don't exert yourself too much, your foe is large and unwieldy, exploit her in a moment of weakness, a simple thundershock should do her in. |

Cody looked at the Raichu Koga had sent out. Though Gyarados was keeping her cool, Cody knew she was in fear. An electric attack could do her in quick. But Gyarados still managed to Intimidate Raichu, making Raichu pretty reluctant to get close anyway. But he knew it wouldn't help much. Finally, Cody spoke. He spoke in a rather deep voice, but it matched his physical persona nonetheless. "Gyrados, do you hear that? He is shouting his strategy right out loud. He is pretty arrogant, but this is the Elite Four after all. He has every right to be cocky. Now this Pokémon is strong, don't be fooled by it's small size. But if you keep your cool, you will have no trouble defeating him. Strategy is all we need. And strategy we will have. I believe, since we are the challengers, we will open this up for you Koga. Gyrados, we need speed to get past this rodent. One hit, and you could be done. So be ready to move." Cody thought to himself, then sparked an idea. "Gyrados, use Dragon Dance if he tries to speed up. But if he doesn't, use Rain Dance! No matter the turn out, use Hydro Pump afterwards! We will take this rodent out!" Gyrados seemed eager as the match started. Note: Gyrados uses Intimidate on entering battle, so Raichu's attack is lowered, but I don't think it will be too necessary anyway |

(Cody you don't need to do Intimidate and stuff like that, the ref is meant to do it for you, all you have to really do is explain your moves and perhaps comment on how you feel and how you think the battle will go. Also Bcadren I take it you're Raichu was using Agility and Double Team but unless you mention it specifically I won't take it into account, but I think you just want to shock the Gyarados anyway.) The crowd cheered as the trainers faced each other, each with a determination on their face. One wanted to win to continue on through the League and the other for something more important, his pride. As the trainers barked their commands to their Pokémon, each amazing in their own rights, the crowd fell into a deadly hush. Raichu stood boldly in front of Koga, small jolts of electricity sparking from its' cheeks every second. Although slightly daunted by the monstrous Pokémon in front of it, it still portrayed an air of superiority. Gyarados glared down at the smalll Pokémon, its' sheer size and power enough to make most Pokémon quail. The effect was made even worse when it started to twist and dance in the air and black clouds started to blot the sky. Drizzle started to fall from the sky, not a full torrent yet but it would be in a few minutes. Gyarados stopped its' strange dance in the air and turned back to the Raichu. Raichu still stood boldly looking up at the large Pokémonbefore it. A hush fell over the stadium as the two Pokémon stared at each other across the arena. Slowly Gyarados opened its' mouth and took a deep breath, Raichu still holding its' ground. The rain around Gyarados seemed to alter its course and get drawn into its' mouth, the Pokémon getting ever so slightly larger as it took in water. Raichu, now sensing what was happening started concentrating on itself. Larger sparks of electricity started erupting from its' cheeks and the Pokémon started to glow. The crowd started to chant and clap their hands, slowly increasing their speed, until both Pokémon's eyes flashed back to each other. Gyarados drew itself up to its' full length and glared down on the mouse like Pokémon, who was now concentrating on Gyarados but holding the tiny amount of its' power back. Suddenly Gyarados opened its' mouth and water rocketed out at top speed, heading straight for Raichu. The small mouse Pokémon released its' jolt of electricity, sending a bolt of pure power towards the large Pokémon. The two blasts sped towards each other, the crowd knew what was going to happen, the trainers seemed to realise too. Collision. The attacks collided in mid-air but neither seemed to stop. The Hydro Pump continued on its' path, though now coursing with electricity, and the Thundershock, well need I explain. The attacks slammed into the both Pokémon, Gyarados twisting and turning but not in the graceful way it had earlier and Raichu blasted back across the stadium. Raichu recovered first, the water blast not seeming to be as effective as its' little jolt of electricity. Well, it had collided with water, conducting it and increasing its' power, and the rain made it easier to aim. Gyarados finally stopped twitching and glared back down at the mouse. Both Pokémon waited silently for their next commands....... Cody Lv 65 75/155 85%Koga ![]() 99/155 96%Cody to go (as Bcadren gave his commands first) |

Cody looked on in remorse. His mighty Gyarados was pretty hurt. One more attack would do her in. But Gyarados had lost her cool. She was pissed off now, after having her body and pride hurt by this tiny little rodent. Cody decided she wouldn't be much help later on anyway, so as much as it hurt him to think this, she would have to be a sacrifice to try and hurt this Raichu as much as possible. But she also just might be able to put the rodent away on her own. "Gyarados, calm down, remember what I taught you. This pipsqueak is nothing compared to the blue serpent! This time, that little mouse is gone! Make it wish it had never hatched!" Gyarados roared at that, and the sound was deafening. All but Cody covered their ears. Cody was used to her roar. Now, he no longer had time for strategy. Though he had calmed her a little, Gyarados wanted blood. So he decided to let her get some... rage out. Cody was yelling now to trigger the anger in Gyarados. "All right , we are not going to lose this one! How can you lose to this little Mickey Mouse knockoff! It's nothing but a rat! A filthy rodent! Don't you dare lose to this thing! It's pathetic!" Now Gyarados had it. Gyarados was in a fighting mood now, exactly as Cody trained her to do. Her eyes glowed as Cody gave her the orders. "Now Gyarados, show that rodent the anger of a Gyarados! Give it another Hydro Pump! If it dodges that one, then start Thrashing and try and hit it! If you hit it with the Hydro Pump, let your rage out and hit it with a Dragon Rage! Now go, and crush that rodent!" Gyarados released a battle cry! Once again, the crowd showed distaste for the cry and complained in boos and yelling. But Cody ignored them, and watched as his beast rampaged. |

"So, it would appear the challenger does know a bit about diversionary tactics. Rain it is..." Koga chuckled to himself. "But what he doesn't realize...ufufufu..." "MOTH!!" cried the Venomoth on his head. "I don't think I'll be needing you old buddy." he spoke softly to the moth Pokémon, who now spread out her wings to keep the rain off her trainer. "Let go for a moment," Koga told Venomoth, who floated above his head for just long enough for Koga to reach out and a and tie his hair back with one hand. The electric rodent was loving the rain and took off into a agility around the field. It seemed almost as if nothing had gone wrong, brushing off a blow of water as nothing. "Raichu! I think you know how to finish this." Koga cried as the rodent ran towards the rear of Gyarados at bullet speed. "Spark into the gyarados, it should converge and collapse at impact, possible paralysis, the rain, double weakness...so many things to work against one Pokémon. This should be over quickly." "Don't worry, challenger, Raichu won't kill you beast. Fwahahaha!" Koga laughed. "Calm yourself." came the voice on the back of his head. "Don't waste your psychic energy," he thought back. |

The crowds cheers welled up into a noise that could only be described as, well, noise. No-one seemed to care that the rain had turned into a torrential down pour, the arena starting to fill up with water with the drains barely able to keep up with intake of water. Raichu darted around the arena, its speed boosted by an Agility, circling the large sea snake. Gyarados seemed to follow it, its head moving wildly to try and keep an eye on the quick little mouse. As the giant sea snake rose to its full height again and started taking in water, the crowds cries rose into a frenzied rage as they new what was coming. Having taken in enough water, the Gyarados returned its gaze to the still moving Raichu. Seeming to calculate where it would be Gyarados opened its mouth and let out a torrent of water. Raichu quickly changed direction and darted behind the large sea snake, well it wasn't that hard to dodge a stream of water if you were moving that quickly. Seeing its Hydro Pump miss, the large snake started wildly thrashing about. A last attempt to hurt the mouse Pokémon. Raichu started glowing, covering itself in electricity it looked bravely at the large snake more than 8 times its size. Finally deciding on its path to the thrashing snake the Pokémon charged. Darting across the thin layer of water Racihu surrounded itself in electricity, sending small jolts through the water, until it neared the thrashing Gyarados. What happened next was unexpected. As the small mouse neared the large snake, its tail whipped around slamming into the small Pokémon. Raichu flew across the arena and smashed into the wall, falling in a heap on the ground. The Gyarados though fared off worse, hitting a Pokémon surrounded in electricity was sure to hurt. Still thrashing about, this time in pain, the large snake collapsed in a heap on the ground. Its fight was over, the small mouse bested the large snake but only just. Having a Pokémon smash you, when it was 8 times your size had to hurt. Raichu picked itself up though, slowly and in pain, but still conscious. The crowd went wild, Koga was winning. What Pokémon would the challenger bring out next though.............. Cody was despaired. Gyarados was so close to KOing that rodent. Cody was actually quite proud of his Gyarados as he withdrew her. For a Pokémon who was supposed to do four times the normal amount of damage, with rain to help, his Gyarados had almost beat it. Cody felt confident as Cody chose his next Pokémon. He was thinking a couple steps ahead now. He had no idea what Pokémon Koga possessed, but he knew what Pokémon he had himself, and his strategy was in place. Gyarados was his kamikaze, now it was time for the infantry. Cody grabbed another Pokeball off his belt. He threw it, with no words spoken. The ball exploded, and out came a humanoid Pokémon with overly large fists. The Hitmonchan warmed up by punching at extremely fast speeds, prepping to knock out this rodent. |

"Raichu is pretty beat up." Koga thought. "That is what you get for being so hard on the attack" Venomoth replied. "He still has high energy and you've yet to use any of your signature strategy. Go on, he has much fight left." "Alright, Yes." Koga said aloud, much to the bemusement of the crowd, "Why did it seem he was talking to himself?" "Raichu, you're fine, you may be injured, but use all of your energy to your advantage. Paralyze the boxer with Thunder Wave, use our little signature move [Toxic] then take off into double team to keep that brute from finding you and finishing you off. "Rai!" replied the mouse Pokémon, dazedly getting himself up and charging for the simple wave attack. |

Now Cody had to think. His Hitmonchan's fists were as fast as that Raichu's, but his agility would give him trouble. But that Raichu was so hurt, he came up with a strategy that would work. Once again, speed and time was of the essence. His Gyarados did excellent work as a martyr, but Hitmonchan would have to start beefing on the defense. And the best defense is a fantastic offense! "All right Hitmonchan! You have to hit him before he gets his Thunder Wave! Use Mach Punch, quickly! If he dodges that, use Bullet Punch! You have to make sure you hit him before that Thunder Wave! There is no way that rodent will take another of my elite Pokémon! Make sure you teach him that no matter how fast you move, he is no faster then your mighty fists!" Hitmonchan cried "Chan! Chan!" in agreements as Hitmonchan rushed to strike the Raichu. |
