First off, we have some QUESTS. You, lucky little bastard that you are, get to design four (4) quests for four different characters. Keep them interesting and innovative as much as possible, and don't forget to do all the sections of a quest: overall quest, hardships, rewards, and/or whatever else you can think up. Keep in mind that when I say "design a quest," I mean "design a good quest with the outline being about a paragraph long."

Ash Ketchum~

It was just another ordinary day for Ash Ketchum. The sun was out, Pokémon were mingling, and an odd man wearing all black was sitting on a rock, staring up at the sky. Seriously... who wears all black on such a perfect day like this? But before you got the chance to ask, a gentle wind blew up from behind you, blowing your hat off, and landing right in front of the man. With a gasp of excitement, the man stared at the hat like it was chocolate, or something awesome like that. Not even glancing at you, he swooped down, grasped the hat, and fled the scene.

Well, that certainly was weird. I mean, who steals such an ugly awesome hat like that anyways? He must be tired of all black and want to change up his style. Or he's insane...

Options:

1) Ash chases down the strange man, and is lead to Ecruteak city. The man is an artist and was inspired by the hat after a long drought of ideas. He challenges Ash to a battle when confronted over possession of the hat.

Artist's Pokémon
:smeargle :Female lvl. 12
:murkrow :male lvl. 13

Ash's Pokémon
:pikachu :male (I think?) lvl. 14
:machop :male lvl. 11

If Ash wins, he gets the hat, but feels sorry for the artist, so he buys the artist a new hat.

If Ash loses, the artist knocks him out and has Smeargle draw "omglolpwned" pictures on his face.

2) Ash decides that his hat isn't worth the trouble, and Mewtwo strikes him down for being lazy continues his journey as normal. He buys a new hat, but it just doesn't feel the same T_T.

Ronald McDonald~

It was time. The year of the hamburger was approaching ever so near. Ronald wasn't prepared for it yet, and all his peers ridiculed him. The Burger King, Wendy, even the weird Dairy Queen lips. There was no way Ronald would be able to compete in the competition this year. He might as well say goodbye to his mansion in Australia, his yacht, and his private golf course. There was no way to avoid the disaster growing ever so nearer... unless... Getting rid of the competition through unsavory means was always an option. As Ronald thought it over, a smile spread on his face.

He picked up the phone, dialed in the number, and waited for a ring. After three rings, he hung up, picked up the phone again, and retried. This time, he heard it pick up after exactly five rings. "I see you haven't forgotten the sequence for our business deals." Ronald said. "What do you want this time," the raspy voice asked. "Remember the job you had about the rabbit, and how you arranged it so he never got any Trix? Well, this will be tougher still..." "How much is the pay?" "300 happy meals, as always." With that, Ronald hung up, and waited. His assassin never failed.

Options:

1) The assassin successfully eliminates all three targets, allowing Ronald to crush the competition in the year of the hamburger. He keeps all his luxuries, and gains even more money.

2) The assassin only rids one or two. Ronald loses to the last remaining, and goes broke. McDonalds shuts down, and everyone cries.

3) No one is eliminated, and they call the police. Ronald is arrested and lives out the rest of his days in Guantanamo.

Batman~

It was 11:13 in the morning when you finally got out of bed. The sun would have shone in your eyes if you had any windows at all in the bat cave. After a yawn and a stretch, you walked over to the kitchen. A fresh pot of coffee was already brewed, and you poured yourself a heaping mug full. As you sat down at the table, you noticed something awfully strange. What could be different? Oh, wait, got it... WHERE'S THE NEWSPAPER?!?!?!

Your eyes lit up with anger as you noticed the newspaper was missing. You drank up the last bit of coffee, took off your pajamas and bat slippers, and quickly dressed into your superhero costume. After gearing up, you left your cave, still fuming over the lack of newspaper. A superhero needs to know the news just like everyone else. When you got outside into the city, you saw a newspaper stand with one last Gotham Times remaining. But there was some dumb girl trying to grab it. Actually, she was pretty fine... BUT YOU WANTED THAT NEWSPAPER!!!

She saw you watching her angrily, and knew what you wanted. "You're not getting this newspaper you know... Not without a fight first." Hmmm... wrestling a pretty fine lady didn't seem all bad. But two spheres appeared in her hand, and out came some weird creatures. That's not something you expect everyday.

Options:

1) Batman decides to take up the battle. He has no idea what the strange creatures are though.

Lady's Pokémon
:rattata :Female lvl. 9
:skitty :Female lvl. 9

If Batman wins, he gets his newspaper and skips joyfully through the city.

If Batman loses, the lady gets the newspaper. But then she realizes who it is, and they go on a date that evening.

2) Batman grumbles and leaves, deciding a newspaper isn't worth that much. No newspaper or date.

Saladin~

The Christians just wouldn't leave him alone, would they? Jerusalem was his city, was his achievement, but they persisted. With great siege engines and many warriors, the defenders were hard pressed. He had just recaptured the city, but his enemy was back already. He glanced out over the battlements at the destruction and death. Was this city really worth it? Of course it was. He shook his head at the foolishness of that statement.

But then he glanced over to his right. One of his soldiers was hard pressed by a group of knights. They had a Lairon and Rapidash out, slowly pushing back the soldier's Sandslash. With a great yelp, the Sandslash fell, and the knights were on the soldier instantly, swords gleaming in the sun as they slashed the man into a bloody mess. Saladin gave a great roar, and pulled out his own Pokémon. With a great flash of light, a Flygon, a Cacturne, and a Camerupt appeared by his side. He would not suffer another of his soldiers to die this day.

Knight's Pokémon
:lairon lvl. 35
:rapidash lvl. 41

Sasladin's Pokémon
:flygon lvl. 53
:camerupt lvl. 51
:cacturne lvl. 55

Options:

1) Saladin challenges the fighters and defeats them. He learns that these were some of the generals, and the Christians withdraw for today.

2) Reinforcements arrive for the knights. Saladin loses the battle, but his soldiers save him from death. Jerusalem is still in the hands of Saladin.

3) Reinforcements arrive for the knights. Saladin loses the battle, and the knights capture him. He is held hostage, and Jerusalem is lost.

{I'm not sure if every character I'm creating journeys for has to have Pokémon. So, I hope these are all right.}

-Ash Ketchum

Young Ash Ketchum has arrived in the newest region of Tohea, to continue his training as a Pokémon Master. This would obviously entail becoming the next Maroon League Champion. Unfortunately for Ash, Pikachu just isn’t going to be enough to become the champ. Ash has heard that there are lots of great Pokémon in Nym Forest, and is on his way to capturing some of Tohea’s finest Pokémon to help him on his way.

As Ash and Pikachu wander though Nym Forest, they come into a clearing. Ash can’t believe his eyes, as there are six low leveled Pokémon in the clearing. Each of them appear to be working together. As he blunders into the clearing, excited about this find, all the Pokémon stop and turn to look at him. He calls on Pikachu to battle the Pokémon so he can capture them.

As Pikachu gets into his fight stance, the bushes to Ash’s left begin to rustle. Many more Pokémon run through the clearing in a stampede. Ash is obviously confused, until three men come into the clearing with him. Each man is carrying a net and has Pokémon caught in cages. They have a few Pokémon under their control, but they use shock collars rather than keep the Pokémon in pokeballs like normal trainers.

Wild Pokémon:
:oddish lvl 3 :bellsprout lvl 3 :caterpie lvl 3 x2 :weedle lvl 3 x2 :heracross lvl 6

Poke Poachers:
:growlithe lvl 10 :paras lvl 10 :machop lvl 10

Ash:
:pikachu lvl 15

Options:
A) Ash takes advantage of the chaos to capture some Pokémon for himself.
B ) Ash protects the wild Pokémon, and attacks the poachers.
C) Ash gets out of Nym Forest and ignores the attack.

Results:
A) Ash could capture any of the Pokémon, but they will not obey commands until he gains their trust.
B ) Ash protects the wild Pokémon. If he can successfully defeat the poachers Pokémon (with the help of the wild Pokémon) the Heracross joins Ash.
C) Ash might be able to save a Pokémon with a shock collar on it. If he releases it into the wild, it will travel with him.
D) If Ash is a coward, he gets no rewards at all.

Rewards:
Capturing some Pokémon
Defeating the poachers could lead to clues about who they are and provide a hook into another storyline.

-Ronald McDonald

Ronald McDonald is ready to open his first restaurant in Kadaraa! In preparation for Kadaraa’s first McDonald’s, Ronald is working his butt off to get ready. He’s spoken to the Mayor and the city planner, where he’s learned the building he wants will cost him quite a bit of money. Additionally he’s got no staff or food to serve.

Options:
1) Ronald can enter a Pokémon tournament to win the prize money he needs.
2) Ronald can battle various trainers for money.
3) Ronald can make a deal with local Black Rose “money lenders” for an undisclosed “favor.”

Other tasks to accomplish:
1) Hire new employees
2) Place add at the Temp Agency for employees
3) Gather ingredients for food.
A) Ronald can battle wild :tauros :miltank and :pidgey Once defeated he turns them into food. (The dark secret of McDonalds.)
B ) Hire someone else to capture Pokémon to use as food.

Rewards:
1) Ronald wins the Pokémon tournament, and/ or other trainers; and uses the prize money to pay for his restaurant.
2) Ronald makes a deal with the Black Rose. They will pay for the restaurant, but use it as a front to launder money and smuggle illegal goods.
3) Hiring new employees gets his restaurant opened faster.
4) Catching Pokémon to use as food lowers the cost of running the business.

-Bruce Wayne

A young boy named Bruce Wayne witnessed his parents murder in the streets of Kadaraa. Ever since that night, Bruce had been filled with anger, and the need for vengeance. Luckily, his family was rich, so he has plenty of money at his disposal. He finds that fighting crime by supporting the police just doesn’t help. Thus, he begins fighting crime under the guise of Zubatman!

Options:
A) Train his :zubat to fight crime
B ) Train his :spinarak to fight crime

NPC Foes and Trainers:
A) Catwoman- A female trainer who uses her :meowth :persian and :glameow to rob stores and banks of any cat related artifacts.
B ) The Penguin- A short and chubby man, the Penguin uses his army of :piplup to steal artwork all over Tohea.

Rewards:
Zubatman doesn’t seek rewards. However, training his Pokémon will help him fight crime. He can teach his Zubat to use moves like Supersonic to confuse his foes, Thief to recover stolen items from robbers, and Fly to carry him back to his secret base. Zubatman’s Spinarak can use String Shot, Constrict, and Spider Web to capture foes.

-Team Rocket

Poor Jesse and James. Little did they know that following the twerps onto the boat would land them in Tohea. Now they have no support from Team Rocket. They have no money and only :meowth as their friend. Then Jesse has a brilliant idea. “Let’s rob the Pokécenter James! Think of all those little kids and their injured Pokémon! We’ll steal them all, and sell them on the black market!”

Together, Jesse, James and Meowth come up with a plan.

The Plan:
A) James is going to dress up as Nurse Joy and infiltrate the Pokécenter. Once in, he’s going to incapacitate the real Nurse Joy so he can steal the pokeballs that people hand over to him.
B ) Meowth has build a Robo-Chancey-Suit to wear in the Pokécenter. It’s built in vacuum will suck up the pokeballs for safe keeping.
C) Jesse will be keeping watch at the door. Disguised as a janitor, she will tell people that the Pokécenter is closed for repairs while James and Meowth rob the place blind.

Challenges:
A) The real Nurse Joy and Chancey aren’t going down without a fight. Watch out James and Meowth!
B ) Regulars at the Pokécenter might know that something is wrong and investigate.
C) The Black Rose have planned a heist to steal the Pokécenter’s Healing Machines at the same time Team Rocket are making their assault. Fights break out as the two teams of thieves run into each other.

Rewards:
A) If successful, Team Rocket can score lots of Pokémon and maybe some money too!
B ) After a good fight, the Black Rose invite Jesse and James to join the gang.
C) Team Rocket actually beat the Black Rose?! Looks like they’ve made a powerful enemy.
D) It’s Team Rocket, with their luck the Black Rose and the Police will have them “Blasting off again!” It’s not really a reward, but that's what is expected.

Pretty standard.

Next up, damage. Tohea's damage starts fairly simple; for a basic attack, divide the move's base power (serebii.net is EXTREMELY useful) by four; say, Tackle (pre-D/P) had 40 base power, so it'd do roughly 10 base damage here. Note the excessive use of "base" and "generally;" we recognize there are about 9 quintillion different things that could be happening to influence the attack. Since you're going to be staff, you'd damn well better be able to use them, too - hence, a (non comprehensive) list. Note that all multipliers... well, multiply. A weather bonus on top of STAB and SE would end up as a whopping 6x total damage, devastating the opponent.

-STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus. 1.5x damage if pure-type, 1.25 if dual)
-SE (Super Effective, 2x damage)
-UE (Ultra Effective, 4x damage. Only applicable on dual-type targets)
-NVE (Not Very Effective, 0.5x damage)
-Weather (if the weather corresponds to the move's type, 1.5x damage)
-Agility (Agility's effect on physical attacks is generally minor, but potentially devastating if used effectively)
-Level difference (completely up to the ref, though I personally tend to add 1-3 damage per level, based on the attack's base power)
-Species characteristics (Aggron is almost impossible to physically damage due to unpossibly hard exterior; Hoppip is held together by fluff and suck)
-Various other stuff, depending on the situation. A downwards Tackle, assisted by gravity's effect, would do more damage than a horizontal one.

Keeping all that fun stuffs in mind, have at you with some damage scenarios. All you have to do is figure out roughly how much damage the defending Pokémon (and the attacking Pokémon, if applicable) will take.

:bellsprout level 5 uses Vine Whip on :geodude level 8

Base damage: 35/4=8.75
Stab: 8.75*1.25=10.93
UE: 10.93*4=43.75
Level difference: 43.75-4=39.75
Geodude characteristics: Umm... it's a rock, so physical moves aren't that effective. Maybe -2

Final damage: 38

Quote:

:porygon level 25 uses Psybeam on :growlithe level 18

Base damage: 65/4=16.25
Level difference: 16.25+9=25.25

Base damage: 75/4=18.75
Stab: 18.75*1.5=28.125
SE: 28.125*2=56.25
Level difference: 56.25-37=19.25
Magmar characteristics: Made of flame, so that might boost the power a bit, maybe by 1 or 2
Glalie characteristics: Ice armor, maybe a minus of 1

Final damage: 20

Raticate passes through Haunter, maybe damaging itself with the landing.

Final damage: Raticate takes 1

NE: 8.75/2=4.375
Level difference: 4.375+5=9.375
Geodude characteristics: It's hard, so tackling it won't be too effective. -2 damage. Also, a head on tackle would scrape up the Larvitar.

Final damage: 7, 1 damage to Larvitar

Base damage: 35/4=8.75
NE: 8.75/2=4.375

I like Zubatman too :D

:bellsprout level 5 uses Vine Whip on :geodude level 8
It’s base power is 35 for 9 points of damage. Vine Whip is a UE attack for 4x damage. Bellsprout is 3 levels lower than Geodude, so -6 points of damage. 9x4= 36-9= 27 points of damage to :geodude.

:porygon level 25 uses Psybeam on :growlithe level 18
It’s base power is 65 for 16 points. Psybeam is an average attack against Growlithe, no multiplier. Porygon is 7 levels higher than Growlithe, giving it an extra 14 points of damage. 30 points of damage to :growlithe with a 1 in 10 chance of causing Confusion. (I probably wouldn‘t do that on the first hit, but after consecutive attacks I would.)

:magmar level 35 uses Fire Punch on :glalie level 72
Fire Punch’s base power is 75 for 19 points of damage and may induce BURN (1 in 10 chance, same as above.) Fire Punch gets a STAB bonus of 1.5 for Magmar and Fire Punch both being Fire Types. Fire Punch is also a SE attack, giving it a x2 bonus. Magmar is 37 levels lower than Glalie, reducing it’s attack damage by 74.
19x3.5= 67 -74= -7
0 points of damage to :glalie

:raticate level 50 uses Tackle on :haunter level 40
Tackle’s base power is 35 for 9 points of damage. According to Serebil.net normal attacks get a x0 modifier. However, since that’s not an option for Tohea, the attack gets NVE x0.5. Raticate has a 10 level advantage, for an additional +20 points. I would also use the species advantage to reduce the damage. It’s hard to hurt a ghost with normal moves. So, I’d reduce the level damage by half.
9x0.5= 5+10= 15 points of damage to :haunter

:larvitar level 12 uses Tackle on :geodude level 8
Tackle has a base power of 35 for 9 points of damage. Normal moves get a NVE modifier for Normal Attacks, a 0.5 multiplier. Larvatar gets 8 points of bonus damage from being a higher level.
9x0.5= 5 points + 8= 13 points of damage to :geodude

:geodude level 7 uses Tackle on :geodude level 6
Tackle has a base power of 35 for 9 points of damage. Normal moves get a NVE modifier for Normal Attacks, a 0.5 multiplier. The attacking Geodude get a bonus 2 points for the higher level.7 points of damage to defending :geodude

:shellder level 14 uses Icicle Spear on :charmander level
Icicle Spear has a base power of 10 points, for 5 damage. The move is NVE with a x0.5 modifier. *SPECIAL NOTE- There was no level mentioned for Charmander. I’ll assume it’s the same level as Shellder for this problem.*
5x0.5= 3 points of damage to :charmander

Really, Geodude are made out of solid rock. Any physical impact that isn't steel/fighting is going to do minimal damage; you could have subtracted a bit more off the damages there. Also, with Glalie, it has extremely hard ice armor - according to the Pokedex, it won't even melt via fire. You could have lowered the damage there a bit as well. Last but not least, with NVE attacks, I tend to take level difference into account a bit less. Shellder vs Charmander, the final damage could have been just a little bit lower.

Eh, the rest is good, and you do have a fairly accurate grasp of the basics. It'll get a little easier over time as you practice, anyways, so we'll just shuffle you on through.

Now, battling. Tohea's battle system can be difficult for those without a fair amount of practice, but that's what mod training is here for! For starters, being the ref is a bit different than being reffed in a battle; it depends on the individual ref, but you'll have to decide how the battle went in your head, stacking up the player's strategy against that of an average five year old. In theory it shouldn't be too hard, but there does seem to be a fair amount of "LOL TACKLE ATTACK." So much for faith in humanity.

Uh, right, enough depressing speeches. So, to see if you know the basics of reffing battles, We'll give you a few scenarios, and see how you do. Note that there are no "right" and "wrong" ways for each scenario to play out, though major level differences, unless mitigated by flawless strategy, are generally lethal. Player or not, a level 5 Pokémon will usually lose to a level 12 based on the major experience difference. Smaller differences, such as a one or two level disparity, is far more dependent on strategy, though the higher level will still have a minor advantage.

The first one of these pairs is the person for whom you're reffing. Follow the attacks ordered or planned below each one, and choosing for yourself how the other reacts/battles, where no order/expectation is applicable. Now, keeping in mind the last section of training, let's see how this goes!

:poochyena level 5 versus wild, rabid :mankey level 6

Poochyena is ordered by its trainer to use an Agility + Agility + Tackle combination

:oddish level 12 versus trainer's :geodude level 16, in Sunny weather

Oddish has been ordered to use Solarbeam x2, whilst Geodude should Mud Sport to hide, then Rollout

:charmander level 5 versus wild :abra level 5

Wild Pokémon RPer, using Scratch twice

{Alright, thanks for the tips.}

So, you want to battle a pissed off pig-monkey with your puppy? If it were me, I would get the hell out of that Mankey's way. But it's all good if you feel the need to attack it, probably enraging it further.

You ordered your Poochyena to first start off with a double agility. The Poochyena calmed itself, and before the Mankey even knew what was going on, the dog was darting around like a Jolteon on ecstasy. I don't even know if the Mankey can even see the Poochyena now. It kept trying to follow the canine, but eventually just grew dizzy and swayed around. Not a great way for it to start the battle.

As the Mankey was swaying, the Poochyena got its speed under control and reared back for its tackle. It ran about four feet back, gave a bark, and charged full speed at the Mankey. The Mankey, still dizzied, heard a yip and turned its gaze towards your faithful companion. CRACK!!! The Poochyena slammed into the Mankey, easily sending it sailing about 15 feet back. The Mankey hit the hard earth with a thud, and the Poochyena gave a bark of triumph.

But the Mankey wasn't done. It was fully under control of itself now, and it was enraged. You could visibly see its eyes turning red with fury. The Poochyena, not wanting to let the Mankey get back to its feet attempted one last pass at it. But the Mankey was ready, and as the Poochyena charged, it side stepped and dealt a tremendous low kick. The kick not only caused massive damage alone, but it tripped up the Poochyena. And at the speed it was going, it slid a long way. At least, until it ran into a tree, easily stopping it in its tracks.

That can't be good for the body. A low kick+speed stumble+tree=pain like no other. Your Poochyena wasn't getting back up any time soon.

In a rage

The sun was shining, and your Oddish was loving it. Its leaves waved in the gentle breeze as it absorbed the sunlight. The opponent's Geodude was staring at you with a "battle tiem nao pleeze!!" look. Good thing it had no idea what you were doing. Your Oddish was content to sit there all day long, but finally, the Geodude initiated the attack.

It reached down into the soft earth and grabbed two heaping handfuls of dirt. It flung them into the air, and as it was falling, it picked up more. Over and over, it tossed earth into the air until the entire battlefield was one big mass of dirt and mud. When it was done, it burrowed its way underground. There was your Oddish, all alone on the battlefield, while the Geodude was not to be seen. But then, an explosion of mud appeared from your left as the Geodude rolled itself at your plant Pokémon.

When it saw the Geodude, Oddish finally pinpointed its target. Easily avoiding the Geodude with its speed boost, it gathered solar energy. "Ha, you really think my Geodude will be easily defeated by your solarbeam? That attack takes forever to charge. This battle is over!" The other trainer said. But then he noticed the Oddish was done charging, taking far less time than a regular solarbeam.

A huge eruption of power exploded from your Oddish, striking the Geodude before it was even half way buried in the mud. Instantly KOed, the Geodude's trainer gasped. "How?..." Was all he managed to say before rushing to his fainted Pokémon. The battle was yours.

So, you wanna fight a psychic Pokémon that can read your moves before you can even execute them? Sure, you're bigger than it, but it can freakin' lift a mountain with its mind. Well, maybe not a mountain, but it can lift a rock or something.

At least it had its eyes closed. You judged the distance between yourself and the Abra. As you were examining the battlefield, you slowly started circling, looking for a position where you could easily attack the mouse-thing. After about two passes, you found the perfect spot. A clear shot right at the Abra.

So you charged, not wasting a second. Rushing in towards the seemingly defenseless Pokémon, you lifted up your claws. Down you slashed, once, twi-- wait, where'd it go? A small pop was heard behind you, and you felt something slam you in the back of your skull. After stumbling to the ground, you heard a voice in your head. "Was that all you have to offer? That scratch hardly hurt. I was hoping this would be a fun battle, but you disappointed me."

When you looked back over your shoulder, you saw the Abra. Floating in mid-air. Its tail was swaying back and forth to the rythm of your heartbeat. This thing was inside your head. Just perfect. It slams you with its tail, then it insults you in your own mind. Well, this was all your fault. You were the one who went picking a fight with the thing. At least you could see you hit it once, judging from the scratch marks on its forearm.

So, what's your next move?

Finally, it's time to put together everything you've (hopefully) learned into one final section; separated from the rest of this stuff partially as a final trial and partially because I couldn't decide where else to put it, general refs! Please note that by "general" I mean "any kind of ref you bloody well want," not some kind of codeword for Alien vs. Predator ripoffs... though, in fairness, I suppose you could do that if you wanted. Just give me three refs to show you actually have any idea what you're getting into, and don't do more than 1 battle ref in the three.

They can be quest refs, travel refs, finding a wild Pokémon refs, or even death refs if you want. Seriously, as long as you do them well, I don't give two shits what they're about.

The sign on the building was faded, but you could just make out the word "Stadium!" A crowd was also gathered around outside, so it must be a good place to test out your new Pokémon. So, you pushed your way through the dense mob of people to reach the entrance. "Excuse me, I need to know your name before you enter," a buff guard at the door said. You told him your name and he lifted up metal the bar for you.

As soon as you made your way inside you were greeted by the familiar sense of a stadium. Smells of food wafted through the air, and people pushed their way through towards the gates to see the match. Now where to go? A mass of people was leaving one of the gates, so you might as well start there. You waited until the throng of people left, and waltzed in to see what was happening. As soon as you stepped through however, six or seven lights were shone on you. The temporary blindness made you stumble down the stairs towards the center. A huge voice was heard as a pair of hands grabbed you, and you were suddenly stopped.

"IT SEEMS WE HAVE A NEW CHALLENGER!"

The sound blasted throughout the entire stadium. An announcer was broadcasting what was going on. At least you had some idea of what was happening, what with yoiur vision loss and everything. "This brave young soul has agreed to take on the world's toughest fight. Let's give him a round of applause!" Clapping erupted around you. After the clapping died down, you reached down to your belt where your pokeballs were stored. This shouldn't be too hard. And besides, you can finally test out your new Ivysaur. But it appeared that someone had removed your belt and shirt. At least some of your vision had returned though.

When you could finally see, you noticed two things. You were in some kind of fighting area with an audience and everything. And, all of your pokeballs were on a table off to the side. What kind of Pokémon battle is this if you can't even use your own Pokémon? Well, here was your answer, in the form of a huge man wearing red gloves and shorts. He pointed at you, as if he was calling you out. Then, you looked at your own gloved hands and it dawned on you.

You weren't in a Pokémon battle. You were in a boxing match.

A bell sounded off in the distance, and the man charged at you. Hmm, things aren't looking too good for you right now, I'd say.

-------------------------------------------------------------

A cool breeze woke you up out of your deep slumber. When you looked around, you noticed something was different from when you first fell asleep. Oh wait, that's probably because it's night time now. A howl could be heard in the distance as you stretched and yawned. You stood up, brushed yourself off, and gently woke up your Mareep. With a slight "Baa" of annoyance, the sheep Pokémon finally got up. It's best that you don't spend too much time alone. In a forest. At night. Wait, isn't that a Darkai?

Nope, that's just a murder of Murkrow. And they were flying straight towards you.

With shrill caws, the birds grouped together into one mass. Who knows what they wanted, but they wanted it from you. When they finally reached you, one by one they swooped down to peck at your open flesh. Blood started to drip from your numerous wounds, and you saw your Mareep was in no better condition. Things were looking pretty bleak for you. That is, until another man showed up. He kinda had a golden aura around him too. Like he was an angel sent to save you.

But then the golden aura disappeared, and a bright light shot out and struck the mass of Murkrow. Many fell down after the vicious hit, but they still kept attacking. Four more beams like the first one shot out from behind the man, and more and more Murkrows dropped to the ground. Finally, they all retreated and you were left alone with your savior.

Before you could even thank him though, he hopped on the thing behind him, a Manectric, and sped off into the night. That was certainly a weird occurrence. A flash of metal caught your eye though, right were the man was standing. When you walked over to it, you saw it was a badge. The badge was in the shape of a pokeball, but there was a lightning bolt inside it. However, the weirdest thing was that it was made from solid gold.

So, what should you do now? Return the badge to your rescuer, or keep it for yourself? That man was nice enough to save you, and he was an electric trainer like yourself. But that badge would fetch a hefty price in Kadaara, I'd say...

-------------------------------------------------------------

The sun was shining and the grass glistened with a fresh layer of morning dew. It was a beautiful day out. A Spearow could be heard in the distance as you made your way down the path. And all around you, Pokémon were waking up. Oddishes, Paras, and others. You could even see a Marill crawling out of a shining lake as it yawned. Today was a nice day, to say the least.

But as you got farther up the path, you noticed something out of the ordinary. There were two strange boys up ahead arguing over something. You couldn't quite hear their words, but as you got nearer you could make out bits and pieces. "...T'S MY SPIN..." "NO...MI...TELLING..." Hmmm, maybe you would like to get closer to hear what was going on.

But before you took another step, both boys pulled out red and white spheres. A yes, the glory of a Pokémon battle was about to take place, and you got to witness it. With two red flashes, a Pinsir and a Heracross appeared. Seems these boys have a thing for bug Pokémon. They both shouted out orders, and both Pokémon charged. The Heracross scored a wicked hit with a megahorn attack, but the Pinsir wasn't done. With a vicious slash of its spike thingies, it contacted the Heracross solidly. The Heracross was down after one hit.

"That's what you get for challenging Gripper. Pinsir will always beat your stupid blue beetle. Now, give me the Spinarak" So that's what all this was about? A Spinarak? Well, it seemed important to the boys. So important, that the loser was crying. You could just barely see the green spider on the ground as it watched helplessly over who would keep it.

So, I'm thinking maybe you want to go cheer up the loser? Or maybe you want to steal the Spinarak, kill the two kids, and take their Pokémon as well. That's what I'd do if I was in this situation.

But before you could decide, the boy with the Pinsir looked at you. "Oh great. You want the Spinarak too? Well, it's not gonna happen. Pinsir, get ready, looks like another battle is coming our way."
