"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla
Tohea is in archive mode, but the legend lives on. |

"That'll be exactly three hundred dollars, my friend." Bellowed the storekeeper. He smiled slightly upon taking your money. After hitting a repetitive combination of three or five buttons the cash register propped open. The man placed the money in and proceeded to walk into the back room. About a good five minutes later he came out with the purchases in hand. He then placed them on the counter, pulled out a paper bag, placed the items within, and printed out a receipt. "Here ya' go, kid. We don't do returns, refunds, or warranties. Got it?" He said in a deepened voice. You found yourself nodding and outside the door. With your items by your side you were now fit for a Pokémon Journey. So, where to now? You could always head for the beach, routes, or Lori's Inn. Your move... {{Ask for 300 dollars to be deducted, and two Pokeballs, Potions, and one Exer to be added to your profile via the Profile Changes Thread.}} |

"Alrighty, then!" said Joshua. It's time to do some training with Yierina. She needs to level up. My first goal is to get her to learn the ice-type attack Powder Snow, and according to my Pokédex, she learns it at level 11, after learning Sweet Kiss at level 8. We have quite a ways to go. Let's get started! And so as he walked off, he realized something; he forgot to bring his watch along to Tohea! Drat. Now I need to find someplace to check the time. This really puts a damper on my training with Yierina, but I wouldn't want to be out training past dark, especially if I end up in some kind of wooded area where it's pitch black at night. Didn't I hear something about an Inn on the boat ride over here? Yeah. That's probably my best bet. Change of plans. He walked the town to find a large building called Lori's Inn. This must've been it. He walked in and approached the cashier. Isn't this starting to feel familiar? He asked the cashier "Can you please direct me to the nearest shop that would carry a watch?" when he caught himself losing track of what he really wanted to know; the time. So, before the cashier had a chance to answer him, he quickly added in "Oh, and the time, please?" He began tapping his foot as he awaited a reply. He was in about as much of a rush that such a relaxed person could be in; that being nothing much more than determined to get something done. |

Change of plans? Eh? Well, it was necessary to get exactly what you wanted. Unexpected twists and turn in ones Journey was common, and this was just the first of many. You managed to find yourself entering the infamous Lori's Inn; known well for its hospitality, food, and great service. Quickly and hurriedly, you accosted the front-counter managed, and elderly woman of about sixty years of age. You asked her; "Can you please direct me to the nearest shop that would carry a watch?", and awaited a quick and hefty answer... The lady simply smiled and looked in her cabinet. She pulled out a small stop watch that displayed the current time in digital counters. "Well, can sell you this one here for a good $15? That sound good enough? And the time, as of right now, is 5:00PM. It'll get dark in about two hours." Lori answered with a soft, warm, and comforting voice. Her offer of a valid, working stop watch was still on the table... Excuse the pun =P Well, what do you say? Your move... |

"Oh, great! I'll take i---" As Josh reached into his pocket for the $15 to pay for the watch, he realized that he had just spent all of his money at the Market! How stupid of him. So now how was he supposed to get the money to pay for the watch?! He had an idea. He had two hours before dark, so he would go out and find the first trainer that he could to battle with Yierina. If he won, the trainer that he beats would have to give him money. $15 was a reasonably low price, so he assumed that he'd get more than that for winning the battle. "Er...can you just hold that for an hour or two? I promise I'll be back here before dark with the money," he told the woman. Before she had a chance to reply, he smiled at her and made his way out the door. He went around asking every person that he saw if they'd like to have a friendly little Pokémon battle. He didn't want to sound demanding, but he didn't want to sound too passive either, because then he'd just seem like an annoyance. He continued asking around the town without cease. |

All this mess for a watch? You were kind of obsessed, if you want my opinion, and obsession is never good. Anyway, your choice how you spend your money. The man agreed to wait for you to gather the cash needed, it wasn’t like he was in an hurry after all, but your quest revealed more difficult the you had thought at first. There were trainers in town, but not many of the wanted to fight a battle that gave nothing if they won and put they money in line of they lost. After all, why waste their Pokémon’s energy for nothing? Maybe, if they had known beforehand your ‘champion’ some of them would have accepted, since a Smoochum is not regarded as a dangerous opponent, but it’s not wise to reveal your cards before starting, especially if there are money at stake. In the end, when all hopes started to fade, you met a young girl that made a face at your words, like she waiting for that. She wasn’t very interested in cash, but she did ask for something in exchange if she won: two curative items. She did not specify which ones, but you hadn’t much of a choice in your inventory, did you? “Well, what you say? If you won, I’ll give all my money, 80$” Accept, or keep searching? |
