(((Aha… Torby owns you now… Stagnant journey, much? Time for Torby Time, yes?))) So here you all were, standing around outside without a care in the world… Why, I cannot possibly pathom. Really, what was your purpose for still being outside anyways? I mean honestly, either get the hell inside, or freeze out here. There’s such a misconception amongst trainers that you can only have an adventure outdoors. Well, news flash, my lovely and extremely foolish friends- there’s as much to do indoors as there is out here. And, as a bonus, your ears don’t freeze off and you can keep the feeling in your hands! Like, wow! Anyways, let’s see if Torby can breath some life into an otherwise The Spheal cocked its head to the side at Phil’s words. Well, more like it tilted over on its side… and consequently rolled over, rolling further up shore among the sand and snow. Let’s not forget that those little things were practically all cranium- a giant face with flippers. True abominations of nature… It apparently didn’t comprehend a word Phil said, or, if it did, chose not to listen. Honestly, I don’t blame it… I mean, sure, you feed it a nice little red and white treat ((which was feeling oddly clogged up in its body right now…)), by why on earth should it listen to you? The tiny little seal Pokémon readjusted itself, rolling back to its original position, and, glancing up at Phil gave as much of a smile as one can when it has flaps over its mouth. Aww, but how precious! Until, of course, it opened its mouth, and a small breeze of icy cold hit Phil in the face. Not enough to cause damage, really, and hell, young as this little kid was, it was probably not even that intentional… You were just fine, I assure you, even if that icy breath was anything but icy fresh… A stagnant smell of what must be an odd mix of fish and digestive juices hit you like a truck. Hey, they were wild animals, you know… And well, Spheal and their general evolutionary line stink… And not just in smell. They generally suck as well. Speaking of evolutionary lines, the Spheal giggled, and began barking loudly in its idiotic glee. Stupid little bastard must’ve found it funny! The nerve! Well, maybe calling it a bastard wasn’t the right word… A massive roar caught your attention, and Spheal rolled to the side, and looked into the distance behind you. Of course, you all turned around, curious as you all were, and because I can make you do that… And I pity the image you were subjected to. Time for a little biology lesson about these walrus like Pokémon, kids! Spring is the time that all little Spheals are born… And well, taking that into account, one could estimate the time they were conceived. Deep winter, especially February, is actually the prime time for breeding amongst these Pokémon. Walrein and Sealeo alike travel far distances to optimal places of gather, like the shores of Ayer beach. A far off region, with generally little human development, and extremely stupid people seemed like the perfect place to raise some Spheal babies… Of course, you kinda have to make some Spheal babies first. And that is what the three of you witness as you turned around. Good lord! A Sealeo was just a few feet in the distance, where the shore meant the sand, presumably a female. Hell, not presumably because, well… she was entangled pretty awkwardly with a Walrein. And, judging by the noises and movements I should not go into detail about, they were in the process of… expanding the Walrein race for lack of a better term. Of course, upon hearing the call of your little buddy Spheal here, they stopped and, uh… disengaged, and glared daggers at you. Oh great… apparently this was their kid. And not only were you a presumed threat to their offspring, but you actually interrupted the most sacred of nature’s acts?! Oh hell no… you were gonna suffer. This was pretty evident by the way they both rode in the water cresting against the sand, barreling over to you like some massive blue tanks. And they were probably not too happy at all, either, judging by the way Walrein’s tusk glowed a bright blue, and tiny ice flakes sprinkled down from them as big papa made his way over. Spheal gave an ecstatic clap, and rolled around Phil’s legs, knocking the boy over into the sand. Sealeo gave a huge maternal roar, and veered back as her mate tumbled past her… Umm… either get the hell out or what? Hand over the daughter! ((Torby Plot! Call on Torby again!)) ( Stagnant? We were very happily conversing until you came along! “Shoos Torby out of journey with broom*) The young woman could do nothing but blink in confusion at this latest turn in a series of bewildering events – the canine creature relaxed his aggressive stance for a second time. By now, Wind didn’t know what to think, half-wondering if the blue Pokémon were simply playing a game with her, silently laughing at her antics. Irritated by this lack of certainty – the wind preferred to blow in a direct, straight-forward path – she too let her arms fall harmlessly to her side as she allowed her slanted eyes to take in the Pokémon’s expression once more, probing for any mistakes she may have made in judging its intention. “Hrm?” she grunted, voice frosty with impatience, when Philip stepped up besides her. She had unconsciously heard him speak a few moments earlier but had disregarded his words. Now, however, as he made to tell her something, she did not bother to even turn in his direction – or even move – as she listened. Wind took this exaggeratedly aloof stance partly to keep her eyes on the Pokémon before her – she didn’t want it to try anything suspicious while her attention was diverted – but mainly, though she would never admit it, to enhance her appearance as just that – cold and distant. The façade was lost, however, as Wind was surprised to hear that Philip intended to move interfere with her confrontation with the black and blue Pokémon. “You what?” she demanded, turning sharply to glare at the young man, red eyes burning into his. The Titan sucked in a large breath of her namesake as she prepared to demand Philip drop the theatrics, but the breath ended up wasted as it was forcibly expelled in a gasp, while Wind’s eyes widened comically. Behind the young man, Wind saw two Pokémon – or so she immediately assumed – locked in a…distracting display, to say the least. As she gaped at the sight, unsure how she should react, the small seal Pokémon took things into its own hands (flippers) as it began to bark loudly. Given an extra second or two to react, Wind believed she could have silenced the little spherical seal – gut instinct warned her away from the two things that she was already dangerously close to – but it was, of course, too late – the future had connected at this point, and there was no going back. The novice trainer curiously took a step toward the blue creatures, but then snatched the foot back, as if she had made a fatal mistake. And now, even the warrior girl’s iron nerves began to crack as the blue Pokémon, in synchronization with her last movement, “disengaged” and immediately fixed their sights on the blue ball Pokémon at her feet, and then Philip and her. Warily, Wind took another step back, and then cringed reflexively when the pair of seal-like Pokémon suddenly began to rush at her. What frightened Wind the most was the larger one – the male – with the bizarre white stuff spread over its face, as its horn began to glow blue. At that moment, the baby Pokémon decided to ruin things again, when it suddenly knocked Philip off balance and sent him sprawling – but not before he connected with Wind and sent her flying into the frosty sand as well. Seeing as being horizontal was the last position she wanted to be in at the moment, Wind hastily scrambled to get to her feet, momentarily abandoning her grace for haste. The Titan, recognizing the first pangs of panic within her, forced herself to relax her breath, so that it was natural. Over the years, she’d found that this small effort helped steady her nerves, as it did now. Not knowing how to handle Pokémon, she stuck a shivering hand out to Phil, lost patience with waiting for him to take her hand, and hauled him up by the back of his shirt. In this, she had silently elected the overdramatic trainer temporary leader, as she assumed him to be more knowledgeable in Pokémon affairs. She backed up another step, ready to follow if he ran, ready to confront the seals if he stayed. IN the calm before the storm, the Titan flicked her eyes at the canine Pokémon now. Is he with these seals? Why is this beach so teeming with life in the dead of winter? Why...Are they all blue? Such strange creatures, these Pokémon are... But after a second glance, it appeared that the bipedal Pokémon was just as surprised as she was, at the sudden appearance of these fear-inspiring Pokémon. Shakily, she offered a hand to the long-eared creature – not that he needed to take it obviously, but as a sign of camaraderie. Should all hell break loose, they would be allies – for a little at least. Now that she term ally had crossed her mind, Wind found herself itching to release Fern from her mystical sanctuary, to take comfort in the large green plant Pokémon's towering stature. But she would not - to subject Fern to this possible danger would have been cowardice. And so, it seemed the young woman was to face this new challenge without her faithful friend. And the Titan would meet whatever the winds of fate had decided to send in her direction now, ready and waiting. |

I waited impatiently to see how well my plan to convince Spheal to obey me worked, smiling the entire time. My smile turned into a look of fear Spheal gave me her answer in the form of her icy cold breath. Her answer was obviously “no.” The cold weather was a lot to deal with but the Spheal didn’t have to show me her affection like that. Still, it isn’t her fault for not knowing what a human feels like. She’s only a child after all. The entire situation wasn’t a complete failure, though. The mysterious hound amazed me with his behavior yet again; in a good way of course. Instead of acting hostile and aggressive after hearing my bluffing orders like I expected him to, he got out of his stance. Much to my surprise, he decided to give me a “WTF is he thinking?” look instead of running after the Spheal for an attack. While I expected the latter, the former didn’t really surprise me after seeing his earlier behavior. One thing was for sure: this was no ordinary mutt. Seeing that plan fail completely, I began thinking of another one; hoping I would be successful next time. While deep in thought, I noticed that the Spheal was giggling and barking loudly. ”Great... First, she enjoys seeing me as a complete failure and now, she wants more... She’s calling some friends over to watch, isn’t she?” I thought as her energetic jumping distracted me and broke my thought patterns. I still wanted to capture the Spheal but after a while, failures and complications in attempts to do so get really frustrating. Before I could begin to contemplate more plans that may or may not end in an embarrassing failure, my attention was drawn to a bigger and more sordid image. With my own two eyes, I saw a Seleo and a Walrein going at it with each other out where anyone and everyone could see them. It was the nastiest sight I ever saw. Unfortunately, watching this was like watching a train wreck. I saw it and I wanted to look away but I couldn’t. Thankfully, this eye-torture would soon end but there was no doubt that this would leave a scar on my virgin eyes. The two big blue seals turned their attention away from each other and towards me and the tiny blue seal with dirty looks on their faces. Apparently, this was their little girl and I was some kind of threat to her. I couldn’t see why they were so mad at me when the little Spheal seemed so content with me. Logically, however, one would normally be able to tell that they were the type of Pokémon that hates the human race. As one would be able to immediately predict, the daddy Walrein began charging up for one of his big attacks. Considering that papa was at an extremely high level, anyone watching would be able to tell that my death was just around the corner. Once you piss off a hateful walrus, it’s hard to turn back. On the other hand, I’ve gotten out of many similar situations before. If I’ve learned anything over the past year, it’s that even seemingly impossible situations are possible to get out of. During the time I spent on that strange island, I had never been in this exact situation but I have been in similar ones. In every situation, I had to plan carefully and sometimes had to take risks to make sure that I survived. Luckily, none of them have failed to this day, or else I wouldn’t be alive enough to find the civilization I had made myself a part of today. Most of my plans involved running from whatever was trying to kill me but that was not always the option and when it was, it was usually the cheap way out. In this situation, running was one option; and a very tempting one at that. Fleeing would provide a quick escape from a painful death. My life and the life of my precious Budew would be saved from our cruel fate. In a logical, self-preserving view, running is the best option but on a moral standpoint, it would be the worst and most cowardly thing I could ever do. If I ran from danger now, I would be abandoning an innocent damsel and a random canine and possibly thrust them into the cruel, unfortunate fate known as a painful death. That makes the coward’s option a lot less tempting, especially since Wind is counting on me. There wasn’t much for me to discuss internally; I’m staying with the two of them, even if I get killed as well. I wasn’t planning to get killed, however. Unfortunately, something like that is easier said and/or thought than done. Surviving would be impossible without a proper plan, which I was about to start thinking up. The main obstacle I’m facing right now that makes it hard to plan is the lack of materials to work with. This was a beach, not a forest or a city. Sand dunes don’t make effective hiding places or shields. Another obstruction in the path was the fear factor. I’m being threatened by two enormous, overprotective parent Pokémon stacked on top of feeling the need to protect a lady and a dog. Who wouldn’t be scared of something like that? The resources that I have available at the moment are enough to help motivate me, however. While Walrein can intimidate me with his high and mighty appearance and mood, the fact remained that I was still the one holding the child. Any intelligent parent would know not to attack someone holding their child hostage if it meant taking the risk of harming their own kid. That didn’t seem to stop Big Daddy here, though. Hostage tactics might seem inhumane but this is a matter of life or death. When that’s the case, anything goes. Right now, Walrein is probably getting ready to attack me with a powerful Ice attack. Knowing that Walrein already used up most of his energy playing the mating game with the Seleo so I don’t expect the attack to be a physical attack like Ice Fang since long-range special attacks would be more useful and more convenient for them. I’d expect something like Aurora Beam or Powder Snow but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Walrein use Blizzard. If Walrein decides to use a big special attack, then it would be whoever is in front that is hit the hardest. If they attack right this second, then I would probably be the one who gets hit with the full force of the attack. If I could make sure that Spheal is in front of me when the attack is fired, however, then it would be Spheal who takes most, if not all, of the damage. It’s cruel but if I’m forced to decide between that and death, then I would rather be viewed as cruel. It’s not like Spheal would be killed by an Ice attack as easily as I would. There were only two problems with that plan: making sure that Spheal is in front and making sure that she stays in a position where she takes the damage. Picking her up is out of the question since Spheals usually weigh over eighty pounds. Ducking down and hiding behind Spheal is an option but it would still be possible for them to attack and kill me and/or one of my comrades by aiming their attacks at an angle. Still, with so few options, I would have to take a risk. Figuring that I had no other choice, I decided that I would go with the latter option and tie a little bit of dialogue in with it in case there was any chance of convincing the parents to stop call off their attacks. I didn’t expect any favors from Spheal’s parents since they’re already blinded by their anger but it’s worth a shot. Before I was able to speak the first time, Wind impatiently pulled me off of the ground and back to my feet, nearly choking me to death in the process. I decided not to say a word about that but instead, I started speaking to the parents of the bat blue beach ball. ”H-Hi there. Y-You must be this child’s parents!” I said, stuttering due to the combined effects of the cold weather and the fear the two large seals drove into me. Before I spoke again, I crawled over to the tiny blue Spheal, held her close with my right hand, and started petting her with my left hand. I shifted my body into a position where I would be behind Spheal in such a way that only my arms and head would be exposed. ”I-I was just playing and having a little bit of fun with her! P-P-Please don’t take any offense! See how happy she is?” I said while still petting the baby seal. I hoped that she would cooperate with me and start barking happily again. Knowing how this Spheal acts, though, she’ll probably be rolling around again or jumping up and down again. If she does, I would just grab her and hold her tight again. If this plan doesn’t work and the parents attack anyways, then I would just duck my head down behind Spheal with the rest of my body while I continued to use my hands to hold the Spheal in place. I looked over to Wind and the blue hound and made a gesture suggesting that they take similar actions. Then, I looked back over to the parents of the tiny blue Pokémon and hoped for the best. Hopefully, this scene won’t end in the gruesome death of an innocent young male. |

I watched in amusement as the Spheal blew its cold breath into the male’s face. I knew that he did not enjoy the experience for besides being cold, it was undoubtedly smelly. The smell of raw digested fish should have blown some sense into his mind. During this, I noticed that the female was undoubtedly annoyed at the male. She was a warrior: the dealings between her and I were our own business, not his. The Spheal then gave out a bark that I assumed was laughter. Until I heard the roar and saw the female’s head turn towards something. My attention turned in the same direction further up the beach. I was not prepared for what I saw, a Walrein and a Sealeo in the middle of making more of their kind. My face immediately grimaced in disgust. This was something that happened in private or concealed places in my clan. It was a disgusting shock to me. The only other thought was the hope that they would not notice us. That hope was lost to the abyss when the two large creatures disengaged and began toward our group. The looks the two were giving the group were more than displeased, they were obviously angered beyond words. I could do nothing but watch in almost frozen terror. These two creatures were far beyond my abilities to hurt, mush less do battle with. Even when tired, they could very well maim, if not kill, any one of us in a single attack. One thought went through my head while it escaped my mouth. “Oh. Shit.” So stunned by fear I barely noticed as the Spheal knocked both humans over. The female scrambled to her feet and hauled the male up by his false fur. One thing broke me from my paralysis. The female extended her hand to me. I was confused for only a second as to what this meant. She was offering to be an ally. Having made the choice I had earlier, this decision was easy. I reached out and grasped her hand. As I did this I saw the male move. He went closer to the Spheal and spoke, while petting it. Was this human trying to console or threaten the two parents? No, it was a distraction. He had grabbed the Spheal to keep it still, and between him and the parents. He had a strategy that might just work, if his luck turned for the better. Meanwhile I prepared to dodge and pull the female to the ground if necessary to keep her from harm. |

[So Torb is Godly awesome and left, so now I get the pleasure of killing ya'll] Apparently, it would seem the age old myth that the biggest men have the smallest members was entirely wrong. At least, if the way that Sealeo had been squealing was anything to go by, and you couldn't deny that the Walrein was a big guy. That said, I don't think any of you really care so much about the pleasuring he had been giving his lil momma... Wait, wut? Yeah, apparently that would've been the stupid thing to do; Running from a Pokémon who had chosen to use a close range attack? Pfft, idiocy. So instead using Spheal as a human shield, Phil had chosen to waste time in trying to talk around a pair of very pissed, maternally threatened mammoth Pokémon... Well I know there are points to be had for effort, but seriously... What the hell? Having gotten closer, now, Walrein saw you hiding behind his beloved child, and he stopped. There was no way he would attack the little thing, just to hurt you, and so he told his baby to step aside. If you thought the little one's breath had been bad, this was so much worse, and he was further away! The stench enveloped the whole area in a noxious smelling fragrance, which almost caused vomiting. Your words of protest were lost on him, as could be predicted, the futile claims achieving nothing for your position. Wind had had the right idea, in preparing to flee, so maybe as the little Spheal looked at her daddy, that could be what you considered next. Evenutally, she made a move, rolling out of your grasp, her blubbery and round skin too void of friction to allow you any chance to retain a hold. The little beach ball-esque Pokémon starting rolling towards her father, closing the ten yard gap between the you and him quickly, though remaining a shield from any ranged assaults. So yes, you were still good for running, and yeah, it comes highly advised. Baby Spheal wouldn't be interested in you anymore, anyway; Not now she found her father, to play with. Maybe there would be better luck elsewhere..? |

{Yay! I’m alive!! WOOT!!! …Now it’s time to GTFO…} Instead of using a ranged attack like I expected, the big bad Walrein had gone in to use a close-range attack to do the job of wiping my blood into the beach sand. Using Spheal as a shield was a terrible idea in this case and I had made one of the most costly mistakes possible. In the middle of his charging towards me, however, the beast stopped in whatever tracks he left out of his fear of harming his little girl. In one way, using Spheal as my meat shield was a terrible idea but in another, that probably saved my life. After stopping, Big Daddy Walrein spoke to Spheal in the usual Pokémon tongue: saying his own name repeatedly. In the process of speaking to his child, the mammoth released a terrible scent that smelled something like a school of dead, rotten, and digested fish as his breath reached all the way over to my nose. The wonderful smell made me slightly sick to my stomach and nearly caused me to puke all over the baby Spheal. It was a good thing I haven’t had anything to eat for a while. After hearing the Daddy Walrein speak, Spheal managed to break out of my grip and roll away. I was surprised to see the Spheal get out of my grip since I was trying my hardest to keep hold of her but that didn’t matter. Now that she got away, she was out of Walrein’s way, leaving my body completely exposed once more. Spheal rolled over to her old man, losing all interest in playing with me and now looking at her father as a playmate. ”Looks like there’s no chance of me capturing this bat little beach ball anymore…” I thought as I watched all hope of capturing the water type Pokémon fall out of the window of a tall building and take a random pedestrian out with it. Now that my hopes of catching a new Pokémon was dashed, I saw that the only options I had left now were admitting defeat and running away or staying here and accepting death. Either choice would lead to me wasting a valuable Pokeball that could be used as something other than a snack. Since the choice involving my survival sounded a lot more appealing than the one involving dangerous animals and my innards spread across the beach, I decided that that option would be the one I would go with. Luckily, Spheal left some room for me to make my grand escape when she rolled towards the Walrein. Probably without intending to, she made herself a barrier against all ranged attacks that Walrein could possibly kill me with. Since Spheal had given me the chance to escape, it wasn’t like I was going to let that chance slip out of my grip either. It was time to start running… ”Wind, it looks like staying here any longer would be suicide! Let’s get out of here and head towards this town’s inn! You can take the mutt with us if you want to.” I said as I turned around to make eye contact with Wind. I wanted to make my intentions clear first before I ran back to the town so that Wind had time to get ready for a fast getaway instead of leaving her behind without a warning. ”If your leg bothers you while we run, then tell me and I’ll help you! I wouldn’t want your injury to get any worse.” I said after I had turned around completely. After that, I started running but not at my full speed. I wanted to make sure that Wind didn’t need my help before I was too far away to give her my help but also get a start in this mini-marathon before I get frozen to death by out mutual friend, the Daddy Walrein. If she could run without my help, then I would run as fast as I could until we reached the sign in the town pointing to Lori’s B&B. If she needed my help, then I would stop and help her walk towards the inn. And with that, my time at the beach was over… |

Fool! beseeched Wind silently as the surprised woman watched the young trainer seek shelter behind the little blue ball of a seal Pokémon. A relatively narrow-minded woman, Wind had seen only two futures before them - that they would flee from the father Pokémon, or stand firm and make a stand against it. She had not expected Philip to opt to hide behind the child - not only was it immoral, but to Wind it held no tactical benefits besides a few seconds’ sanctuary, and ultimately garnered the worst of both worlds. Despite her desire to hold back - it was the wise thing to do - the Titan involuntarily lurched forwards - the human thing to do - as she instinctively decided to yank Philip back from the dangers that would be upon him before he knew it. Having released the warrior Pokémon’s hand - Wind doubted he needed any outside assistance in making the right choice and fleeing - the rookie trainer made to close the short distance between them, but immediately halted, wincing, when pain flared up her injured leg, punishing her for neglecting it. At a quick glance, the bleeding seemed to have ceased, but the pain remained - it felt as if it were twisted. Biting her lip, the pained woman made to try again, now that she was braced for the hurt, but was spared from doing so when Philip evidently came to his senses and decided to run, briefing er while he rushed past her at a moderate speed. It was funny how a human’s mind worked. In that one second, with death banging at her door, Wind’s first thought was He’s not a mutt! Immediately focusing after that, the Titan whirled around to follow Philip, and began running…And lost her balance and went sprawling again, a sharp pain in her ankle screaming at her the moment she put her weight on it. The blanked of snow cushioned her fall - the pain was not great. She was getting used to the frosty air - the cold wasn’t significant. But the shame, the embarrassment - Wind pounded the ground in frustration as she bit back an angry shriek, humiliated and unable to tolerate her physical weakness. Acting solely on survival instinct - it had gotten her through the last few years and Wind had full trust in it - the woman scrambled to her feet again, suppressing a shiver as she stood up. Tall again. Strong again. A Titan again. Almost aggressively, the enigmatic girl grabbed at the black and blue Pokémon’s hand, adamant on ensuring his safety as well. In maintaining a grip on him, Wind almost sealed her death if the Walrein could overtake the canine Pokémon’s short legs - should he be yanked back, she’d no doubt follow. With no time for caution, Wind began to run, pulling the Pokémon behind her. Her ankle screamed, and there would be hell to pay later, but after Wind stopped shaking like a leaf and gritted her teeth to the agony, she found herself able to run. Needing to prove to herself she was still a Titan, and not a damsel in distress who couldn’t even manage a brisk run, the woman began to sprint, dog Pokémon in tow, and started to overtake Philip. Wind’s only thought was to offer a quick plea to the winds of fate, to somehow impede the angry seal Pokémon so that they could not give chase. This Titan still had so much more to do. |

As soon as the female released my paw I turned my attention to the male and the Spheal. Even when doing so I still noticed the female wince, presumably at her injury hurting. The Walrien had stopped; he would not risk hurting his child. He then, predictably, told his daughter to move away from the human. Well, he said something along those lines; I couldn’t hear the specifics due to the volume and smell of the roar. It escapes me how any being’s breath could possibly be that bad. Of course after that the Spheal obeyed her father, and rolled away from the human. The human stood for just a brief second as if stunned. The human took off running after that, yelling something I could not understand, except for one word. He called me a mutt. NO canine species can misunderstand that word. I would have yelled something back at him but two things stopped me. One was that he wouldn’t understand and the second was the female falling. She had started to run but had stumbled. She was back on her feet before I could do anything, though. Surprisingly, she grabbed my paw before setting off at a sprint. I, of course, kept pace as she ran but her intention was understood. She had put her own life on the line for me, for should I lag she would die as well. She was obviously in pain, though it did not keep her from sprinting after the male human. As we ran following the male I could only hope he knew a safe area where we could all rest. My new commander needed a healer’s attention; her wound would need to be looked at. If nothing else she needed rest. I sped up a bit to run beside her rather than behind. It should help and should she stumble I would be in position to help her up. As we ran I sent a prayer to the heavens. ”If we should run into any trouble let it be far from here, and of a type that I can easily handle.” |

As the three of them ran, a loud, low scream followed them. The Spheal’s father was assuring himself they weren’t going to turn back so soon. Probably, that cry made the trio fasten the pace quite a bit, surely, it made any nearby Pokémon and/or person choose to stay where (s)he was for a while. The time to have the family go back to the arctic, more or less. That gave at least to the small group of two trainers and a Riolu the chance to get away from the beach unscathed, not to mention to not meet anyone that could make fun of them. Not that they wouldn’t have the right to punch the guy in the face in that case, as their line of action had been admirable in such a situation. Fleeing is always the best choice, when you risk ending six feet under if you keep your ground. At last, they were able to reach Lori’s Inn, a place that didn’t deserve the success it had, by the way. The place was silent, like no one wanted to get out (no jackets around?) or no one wanted to go in apart the two trainers and the Riolu. I'm cheering for the latter. With the now happier family of water Pokémon behind and their destination right in front of them, the group could stop to regain their breath, if they wished, or do not stop and go inside, again, if they wished. |

The torture of fleeing blind was horrible, almost more so than the danger itself; her red eyes could not take in the enemy, and that was all that really mattered at such times - and so Wind considered such uncertainty little better than blindness, seeing as she lacked that cinematic blind-fighting ability everyone seemed to be running around with…Well, actually, she was quite acutely aware of the little gusts of wind against her skin, but this is getting quite long and off-topic for a thought after a dash and Wind is telling me to shut up with the out of character randomness and get on with it. Fortunately, she was spared such imaginations of just how close behind her the great seal father was by the ever-constant agony in her ankle. Of course it felt like much longer, but Wind guessed that it was actually quite a short amount of time that she’d raced. Now, when the Titan at least reached the relative sanctuary of Lori’s Inn - somehow, she doubted the inn would really hold up too well against a furious seal like that, but human nature, which she could not change, had to preserve its sanity by believing in the safety of the building - she was utterly exhausted. She’d always prided herself on being much more physically fit than most, and this was possibly proven by her mad dash across the beach on an injured leg, but she was almost mortified to find herself so fatigued, due to her leg. But now that adrenaline had served its course and survival instinct temporarily receded, the young woman had no more strength to hold her up - even the Wind could only endure such cutting winds and intense pain for so long - and for all her willpower, the Titan crumbled and, letting go of the blue canine she’d dragged with her, she sank to her knees. It brought immediate relief, now that weight had been removed from her injury, but the gash to her pride hurt far, far more than the physical pains. Her eyes almost watered at this weakness, but she still could not help planting her hands into the ground for a second as she caught her breath. Immediately afterwards, she began to resist her physical limitations again, and tried to stand up - it was not as if they could loiter outside the inn all day, seeing as they had come all this way. “Let’s go” she muttered brusquely, as if nothing had transpired. Then, drawing anything not related to Wind or the Titan back into a locked chamber deep within her, she pushed open the door to Lori’s Inn. (Sorry for shortness! A bit rushed.) |
