I watched the female’s movements and deduced that she was confused. Did she not know that I had just challenged her? She had seemed to contemplate something just as I had a moment ago. She then kneeled and spoke… a question? For a moment I wondered just what the female in front of me had just done. Then I realized, she was offering assistance. She thought I needed help. It seems I must make my intentions clear.

Just as I decided and began entering a fighting stance I glanced at the other human. He had just thrown his capture sphere at the Spheal. What happened next astonished me. The Spheal ate the sphere.

”It-it-it swallowed it!”

I didn’t notice myself fall out of stance, but in my confusion I did. I just couldn’t believe it. That blue and white ball had just unknowingly escaped capture by swallowing the very capture device. This was unheard of, and completely baffling. I just couldn’t understand just how in the world it had just done that.

Shaking my head to rid my thoughts of the scene that had just happened I focused my attention back on the female and got into the fighting stance I had originally meant to assume. Perhaps now the human would understand. I just wish I could have stopped myself from spouting such a stupid sounding phrase.

“Come, let me test your worth.”

At the least it wouldn’t understand what exactly I had said.

The creature…It seemed to be trying to communicate something, Wind realized as he assumed a stance and then stumbled. Instinctively, the purple-haired girl whipped her head around to see what had startled the little warrior. All the bewildered Titan saw was the little blue seal Pokémon swallowing something – this fact was made obvious by the lump that had shown in his throat for a moment – which further confused her. Her immediate explanation was that Philip had fed the rotund Pokémon to win its favor – so Wind failed to see why everyone was so startled.

The young woman snapped her head back when, in a low voice, the black and blue Pokémon began speaking. It was low and throaty, but altogether not unpleasant. Still on a knee, Wind examined the young Pokémon’s face, as if that would bring her insight as to the Pokémon’s words – to her, it was all meaningless babble. But there really was no need for words here; the Pokémon’s arrogant stance and determined expression explained more to than a thousand words ever could; the aggressive little creature wanted a fight.

Her red eyes narrowing with the realization, she drew herself fully upright, standing proud, silent as a calm breeze –words would only be wasted with him – and gave a curt nod that signified her answer. If the little Pokémon really wanted a fight, well…That was what she did best,, though she did not know how much her injured foot would hinder her. Tapping on Philip’s shoulder politely, she quietly announced her predicament.

“Philip…I will, ah, be with you shortly.” she whispered – as usual, the wind seemingly carried the otherwise soft message to Phil – as if that would explain why a small Pokémon stood before her, battle-ready.

That out of the way, Wind faced the black and blue creature again, allowing herself a seep breath of her namesake, bringing fresh wind into her veins, muttering her customary pre-battle prayer to the winds of fate. The last Titan stood ready, tall, and above all…Proud.

I say we make a bad ass town. :) It wouldn't be that hard since we could just use our Pokémon to chop up wood and shiz.

Our own TOWN? o.o;; If you have the money for that, go for it... >__> My main concern right now is to apply for our own forum here pretty soon, now that three or more of us have gathered.

We still have to live through what is going on in our journey, but besides that, yeah. We each have a Pokémon that could benefit making everything a town would need. All I would need to do is level up Totodile until it's Fer. :)

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe that Weaville and Sneasel have claws any different, so Sneasel's good for chopping wood and stuffz. And if we need anywhere where there's grass needing to be cut or anything involving looong claws to cut things, I'm here for it. And I may be able to get a Nidoran Male if anybody wants to trade, but it'll mean I'll have to kill the owner >>;

Only if you shredded their throats. If it was in passable condition when you stole it, no need to dump it in a Pokécenter unless it needs normal healing.

”It… It…. It ate my Pokeball! What the hell??” I thought as I watched the fat blue Spheal eat my Pokeball. I could see how a living creature with a mouth that big could put one in its mouth but swallowing it is a different matter entirely. How could something that small swallow a Pokeball whole? Considering the type of material those red and white spheres are made out of, chewing it would be out of the question for something as young as this. I’m also wondering why she isn’t choking by now.

In this moment of surprise and confusion, Wind spoke to me again saying
“Philip…I will, ah, be with you shortly.” It was then that I finally realized that I hadn’t turned around to talk to her ever since I took out my Pokeball and started talking to Spheal. In fact, I couldn’t tell if she was watching and wondering about the same thing that I was or if she had walked away to take care of any other business she had. Those words, however, told me that she was either distracted with something else or that she had something else that she had to do at the moment and that she would have to leave me for the time being.

I wasn’t sure what she meant by those words so I decided to turn around and take a look at what she meant. I began asking Wind whether she saw what had just happened but my thought pattern was interrupted when I saw a strange blue thing that was definitely not there before. ”Uh... Wind, did…. What the hell??” When I caught sight of the strange blue thing, my attention turned towards that instead. As I glanced upon it more closely, I realized that this was a living creature.

Looking at the creature more closely this time, I noticed that it was a canine creature that stood on two legs. I had never seen or heard of anything like this creature standing before the two of us. Despite that, I could still figure out a few things about it on my own just by looking at the creature. First of all, the creature’s stance suggested that it was a fighting type Pokémon. At first, his pose suggested that he might have been an aggressive creature but judging by the fact that he hasn’t attacked me or Wind yet ruled that idea out really fast. He looked calm and quiet but careful and ready to defend himself at the same time.

It was an interesting creature to say the least. I turned around again to ask Wind where the canine creature came from and how long it had been standing there when I realized that she had, instead of sending out her Tropius for the battle, gotten into a fighting stance herself. For some reason, she wanted to battle and capture the creature herself but she didn’t want to put her Tropius into the cold weather again. On one hand, I couldn’t blame her for wanting to keep her Pokémon safe but on the other hand, I was worried about her well being again. No matter how much she says that she isn’t hurt very badly, one attack to her leg could cause her to fall down and make the injury much worse.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t think of anything to help the situation at first. Rosa is only a small bud Pokémon right now and I already saw that she has a hard time handling this cold weather. I don’t feel confident enough in my own body build to battle this creature in her stead either. Other than those, I didn’t see any other options, except for one: the Spheal.

Even though I wasn’t too happy about Spheal eating my Pokeball, she seemed pretty satisfied. Taking a look at both Wind and this new creature, the two seemed like they had their sights set on each other so there might be a slight chance that I could trick the Riolu into thinking that the Spheal is not really a wild Spheal. Given the current situation and a few seconds for me to think, I came up with a plan that might solve many problems at once.

One problem was that the Spheal swallowed my Pokeball. I could choose to beat it until it coughed up the Pokeball but I didn’t wish to give Spheal an impression of me being a cruel trainer. Since this canine is probably a fighting type, I might be able to convince him to do the job instead. It’s a mean and dishonest way to get a job done but if it’s the best option, it was the one I would go with.

Another problem in the current situation was that Wind wants to fight the blue dog on her own. I wasn’t sure what she was thinking or what her ideals were but in my opinion, that isn’t a smart move. If I convince Spheal to fight it instead, that would lift a great burden from both of us. She would probably disagree with my ideals but if it gets her out of danger, then it would at least let me worry less about her safety.

The last problem that we were facing right now was time. While there was no rush for us to get to shelter, it would undoubtedly be in both of our best interests to get this done and get out of this cold weather as soon as we can. I wasn’t sure whether Wind could feel pain and extreme temperatures or not but I did know that I didn’t want to stay out in the cold any longer than I had to. If this plan is successful, then it might save some time for all of us.

I was confident enough that my plan would work that I began smiling with what might be seen as a somewhat cocky grin. Since I didn’t feel like wasting time by telling her the plan and asking what she thought about it that I decided to go with the plan without her consent. I was eager to see how well this plan would work so I just started going through with it as soon as I could. Luckily, I only had to say three words to get the party started.

”Alright Spheal. Now that you’re done with your snack, I need you to do something. Use a Tackle attack on that blue canine over there!!” I said in a clear, confident voice. After saying those words, I turned to Wind and started whispering in her ear. ”Don’t worry about this. I’ve got it covered. You can still capture the blue dog if you want but please let me handle this situation.”

With that, I turned my attention towards the canine and Spheal and waited for the outcome of this.

I watched as she finally understood. I knew she did when her eyes narrowed and she stood. She got to her feet and assumed a proud stance. She then nodded and hesitantly, to my eyes at least, spoke to the male. She then turned back to me, but she did not reach for her holding sphere. She instead muttered something I assumed was like my clan’s credo.

She would fight me herself?

I had not expected this. I was hoping to test her worth as a commander. I had expected her to be like the stories, for her to send another without thinking to fight in her place. I had initiated a test of strength and had been answered with an unexpected answer. She was ready to fight for herself, even wounded as she was.

I fell out of my battle stance once more. She would be confused, but I could not fight an injured opponent. She had unknowingly passed my test. Albeit, not the test I had meant to use but that did not change that fact in my mind. Now how to properly convey that fact to her would be difficult.

The male had not gone unnoticed during this inner debate of mine, not this time. It had finally seen me after the female had spoken to it. It seemed to consider something but then smiled a confidant grin I would not have recognized had I not grown up with Machop and Machamp as peers. It then ordered the Spheal to attack me, and then whispered something in the female’s ear.

I decided to once again stand in a loose but ready stance. If the Spheal did decide to attack I would be ready to dodge. I still could not stop myself from giving the male and the Spheal a questioning look and muttering under my breath.

“What’s next?”

Due to circumstances beyond my control, Heather is now dead, and since my new character wouldn't fit into this guild, it's pretty much officially dead. Unless anyone wants to take the reins, in which case, you're free to.
