*has idea for goal* We can become the Strongest team by chopping off Trainers heads and stealing their level 100 Houndooms and Murkrows... >_>; And so on and so forth. Can we also get baby Pokémon and send their heads via the Pokedex to other Trainers? >>; I'm serious here y'know. I suggest going into anyone's Journey who has a Dratini or other Rare Pokémon. |

Okay, so whilst one of you was tripping the sugar-junky Spheal (Note, not Seal), the other was attacking a The great form of Tropius was less than comfortable in the snow, and it showed that with unappreciative growls and a wincing, as the biting snow suddenly whipped into her shape. Still, you'd given orders, and were good friends, so she obeyed, swinging forth through the rough air, and planting a foot sqaurely in the path of that little nutjob. He had been going so fast he hadn't seen the Grass type's trunk of a leg appear, and smacked into it with force, being sent recoiling back, and entirely thrown off of its course. Phil's rose bud of a Pokémon, however, wasn't quite as successful, when she used her Absorb attack. In amongst the snow, the cold, the tenseness of the situation, and the fact that she was still young, the little Pokémon's attack had missed, somewhat, and only half of it was actually used on the Water type. Krabby didn't like even that, though, and immediately recoiled from the leg, revealing the bloodied wound that it'd created, and implying that medical attention was very much sought... The other half of the Absorb? Well, uh, yeah... That kinda hit Wind's leg... The combination of losing energy in your leg, and the gaping wound in your shin? Heh, yeah... That's you falling to the floor, in some agony... Wind hit the ground with a gentle thud, thanks to the sandy/snowy coating, but it still hurt. Fortunately, the way she'd landed meant no sand was to get into the gash, but I'd consider getting to a place of healing... Krabby was totally out of here, claws clicking as it scurried for it's life, though Spheal continued to sit there, somewhat dazed. Neither of your Pokémon really appreciated being out in this bitter cold, so add that to your injury, and the fact that Spheal will soon wander off, and I'd place a not-so-hazardous bet that haste is desirable... |

“Well done, Fer-“ began Wind before the rest of her words died in her throat, the draining pain causing her leg to buckle. With a cry, muffled by both surprise and snow, the Titan toppled over, falling down onto her back, upon which she gave another little cry and bolted upright. It wasn’t the pain so much – the young woman had had far more cause for complaint in her travels – but the cold; she hadn’t minded it much earlier, but she had been upright then. Now, bare flesh shivering in the bright white snow, Wind was freezing. Shuddering, Wind tried to make herself look more dignified, as she tried and failed to stand up, deciding instead to remain seated on the frosty sand, legs pulled up against her stomach for warmth. Glaring daggers at her supposed savior, she thought bitterly, I knew this would happen! I should have trusted my instincts! She knew it wasn’t the helpful trainer’s fault, but she still couldn’t suppress an angry outburst, displaying emotion so strong that she knew she’d regret later. “You…You…Maladroit…Fool!” And, simple as that, the anger began to drain out of Wind as quickly as her body heat was in this dismal weather, her red eyes softening visibly. Hoping she would not take yet another impromptu dive, the Titan rose to her feet, trying again to congratulate her companion. “Truly well done, my friend” Returning the obviously-unhappy Pokémon to her pokeball – which Wind assumed would be warmer…Where did Pokémon go when they were in pokeballs anyway? – the young woman gritted her teeth against the fresh wound – it appeared worse than she had foolishly assumed. She would need help now, and this gentlemen…Just didn’t have her trust anymore. But for some reason, the Titan found her nature resisting her will to leave, since it seemed the man was still having troubles with the little seal thing…And the Titan could never turn her back on anyone. “I…Suppose you have a problem with…The seal?” |

That's not how this was supposed to turn out! Cold or no cold, how does Rosa miss and hit that kind lady’s leg??” I thought in anger as I watched Rosa half-succeed at what I told her to do. I succeeded in forcing the evil Krabby off of her leg but that success came at a price. Instead of making the situation better by getting rid of the damned crab, I made it worse by figuratively pouring salt onto her already terrible injury. As much as I would like to pin all of the blame for the failure on Rosa, in the end, it’s my fault anyways. After all, Rosa was my Pokémon, I was the one who ordered her to attack, and I overestimated her ability to operate in the bitter cold weather. I’m the one who should take the blame for this accident so I’m the one who should help her out. Before I could speak up, however, I heard her speak up first. The words that she spoke came as some kind of insult. “You…You…Maladroit…Fool!” she shouted after falling to the ground. She was obviously more displeased than I was; but then again, she has a right to be. Right afterwards, she said something to contradict her last statement, though. “Truly well done, my friend” Now that she said two contradicting statements, I couldn’t tell if she hated me or if she was grateful for my help. I could tell that she wasn’t as angry when she thanked me as she was when she insulted me so maybe both comments were sincere in their own way. In any case, it was my responsibility to offer help, whether she liked me or not. Then again, there was also the Spheal lying on the ground as well. She seemed to be dizzy at the moment but once she recovers, she’ll probably be high-tailing it out of my sight. If I stall waste time talking to this lady, then I may lose the perfect chance to gain an invaluable ally. This is the Winter season and an Ice type like Spheal would help me more than any grass type would. Besides, it’s a cute, tough, and lively little beach ball creature. Why wouldn’t I want to catch her? This left me with a tough choice. I could either help the kind young lady or I could benefit myself by taking a chance to capture the lively young Spheal. Choosing one might mean losing the other. I had to pick one, though, or else I might lose the chance to capture the beach ball, the lady’s respect, and my own pride at the same time. ”Gah! Either I help this woman who couldn’t even get a crab off of her leg by herself or I catch this fat blue beach ball. Which is more important?” I thought. I knew it was important to weigh my options before making a big decision like this so I thought carefully. ”Let’s see... Maybe it’s more important to help this lady right now. I’ll have more chances to find and capture a Spheal in the future.” First, I returned Rosa to her Pokeball so that she could get out of the mess Iput her in. I could tell she was feeling pretty bad about hurting the stranger but there was nothing she could do about it now. For the time being, she’ll rest in her Pokeball and try to forget about her mistake. Now that Spheal has stopped rolling, I had a path to walk through. Through the awful sand/snow mix, I walked over to the stranger and offered my help. ”Sorry for the inconvenience, Ma’am. Are you sure you should be standing with a terrible injury like that? It looks really bad. If you fall again, you might not be as lucky. If any sand sneaks its way into your leg, it will hurt even more and take even longer to heal...” As I was speaking, I came to realize that we haven’t introduced ourselves. It may not affect us that much but perhaps knowing each other’s names may help in the long run. After all, being addressed as “Miss,” “Ma’am,” and “Madam” can get old and annoying after so long. ”By the way, my name is Phil; Phil Mecham. May I have the honor of knowing your name, madam?” |

With a single sigh, Wind forced herself to be calm – over the years, she’d learned to control herself; fury was wasted on the innocents – and abandoned her wound to the chilling wind, hoping that the same biting air that racked her with so many shivers would numb the pain and stem the flow of blood, or at least slow it. It was probably an easy injury to treat, Wind guessed, but she couldn’t tell. From her earliest memories, she had been utterly and completely inept in dealing with first aid, for reasons she could never discover. While the Titan had otherwise excelled in her all-encompassing training, the healing arts had always been beyond her – she could never remember what did what, or how to apply this or that. The young woman couldn’t cook to save her life either, but such matters were trivial at the moment. Finally, in her own time, Wind turned her attention back to the man who had assisted her with her crab problem. Now that she forcibly distanced herself from the situation – it was much easier when you weren’t covered with snow – she finally admitted to herself that what the little bud Pokémon had done wasn’t the trainer’s fault; had he been the one aiming, things would have been different but...if’s, but’s, would’ve, could’ve – they were all useless, no? There was no use in such sullen speculation, unless one could specifically learn a lesson. Having learnt nothing more than have crab for dinner Wind dismissed the thought, realizing she had drifted off again, the winds of her mind so easily drifting away. Blinking, all the distracted Titan caught in the end was the man’s name – Phil Mecham. Overcome by curiosity, she had to voice her thoughts, voice as soft and passive as a gentle breeze. “Phil?” – the young trainer pronounced it more like “feel” – “As in Philip?” Letting the rest of the question die away, unasked, Wind contemplated the oddities of the people she’d encountered – namely, their tendencies to shorten or change their names. Why? Wind saw no point in it, besides to confuse people. But what was more, to Wind and her people, names were cherished, a large part of someone’s character. As such, Wind had felt thoroughly depressed after the loss of her given name, mourning it as she would a sibling. But despair had broken away when, alone in the sea with nothing but a raft and the ever comforting breeze, the woman had learned something about herself – her true name. The wind promised her a swift delivery to warmth and safety, instead of leaving her to die alone in the vast ocean. Realizing she was merely an extension of the mighty winds, Wind had embraced her new – her true – identity. “I am…Wind.” she answered softly. Shifting uncomfortably despite what she liked to think of herself as – the wind felt no pain – the injured warrior eyed the seal. It seemed that the other trainer – Philip – was about to let the thing go. Hailing from such a simple land, she simply spoke what was on her mind. “You should always finish what you begin, you know? You should capture it. My injuries are not particularly severe…” Beginning to fidget again – the pain was much more acute when compressed and concealed beneath the winds of indifference – Wind tugged at one of her black leggings, trying to at least cover the wound. |

”Yes. Philip is my real name. I prefer going by the name Phil though.” I told her as she asked if my real name was Philip. Philip was indeed the name my parents had given me but for my entire life, everyone has referred to me as Phil so that was the name I decided to stick with. I couldn’t think of any reason to go by a two-syllable name when it would be so much easier to use one syllable for my name. ”I am... Wind.” she said in response to my last question. ”Wind...? Where did she get a name like that? Where does one come from to get a name like that?” I pondered. Wind was a very unusual name for anyone to have but I quickly realized that I was in no condition to question her origins or reasons for having a name like that. I moved my thoughts on to other matters. It seemed that Wind didn’t need my help in standing up, even though she had a terrible wound on her leg. I was still concerned about her safety but I wouldn’t question her judgment After all, she was the one injured, not me. If she says she’s ok, then she’s probably ok. I had one other thing I could concern myself with so I moved on to that other matter. Now was my second chance to try to talk the Spheal into joining my cause. Last time I tried to talk her into coming with me; she did nothing but taunt me by rolling in circles around my feet. This time would be different. Instead of being up and about, she was sitting on the snow-covered beach dazed from slamming into a giant’s foot. She wouldn’t be able to do anything about me walking up to her. I calmly and carefully walked towards the dazed little creature and began speaking to it. ”Hello there, little fella! Don’t worry. I don’t want to hurt you.” I began. ”In fact, I would like to propose something. Would you like to go beyond this small beach and explore the entire island? I can arrange that.” Before continuing, I pulled out a Pokeball to help explain what I’m proposing. ” A lively little thing like you shouldn’t be restricted to the beach. If you come with me, I can take you all around the island. Wanna come?” I finished my offer with a smile. I knew for sure that Spheal couldn’t speak a language that I could understand so body language and attitude would have to work in place of words. With that in mind, I eagerly waited for the Spheal’s response... |

I should have been nicer... She was only trying to help. But better safe than sorry. I did, however, feel pretty good at avoiding that group of humans. I am a decent runner so it’s no surprise I got away. I should be safe so long as I could keep up this pace for a while. After all, it’s not like there are any other humans on the beach, right? Unfortunately for me, I was wrong. As soon as I looked forwards to view where I was going, I saw two new humans. One was obviously a trainer. He had a Pokeball out and seemed to be talking to a Spheal. The other was favoring her leg which was obviously wounded. They both were facing away from me but it wouldn’t be long before I would be upon them. The only course of action I could see that would get me past them unharmed would be to run between them and hope I got past before they noticed me. The chances of this plan working were slim however so I shall be prepared to fight if need be. There were only two words I could think of and it expressed my feelings about this new development rather well. Unfortunately, I wasn’t prepared to halt my tongue and it slipped out. “Well @%#$!!” |

Wind nodded as Philip tried again, admiring his tact and manners. Others – many others – would have simply attacked the little blue seal. Vaguely – Wind had few clear memories after all this time – she recalled herself acting as such, by far too gentle for the rough land she was growing up in. But she’d changed, toughened…Been hardened by pain and loss. There would always be memories of her pre-Titan days, but Wind had moved on – it was still nice – an honor even – to still find pure spirit in these darker days. A mumbled sound caused the reminiscent woman to whip around in the blink of an eye, honed reflexes reacting before her mind could. Of course, the whole move turned out to be less theatric than she had intended, since her stiff leg resisted her grace and caused her to stumble. Muttering, she focused her red eyes on the thing before her, taking a step back in surprise. Indeed, this beach was absolutely swarming with Pokémon! What…Was this thing? With guarded curiosity, the Titan examined this new Pokémon – it was the first humanoid one she’d encountered. He – she was pretty sure it was a he, at least – was something around four feet of brilliant blue and black – most prominently around his eyes as if he were wearing a thief mask - Like a raccoon. This dark mask ringed a most hostile expression, one that instantly made the young trainer wary. But all this – that wasn’t what intrigued Wind the most. It was his stance, clearly that of a warrior’s. Could there be warrior Pokémon? It seemed to be intelligent, at least, and was as wary of her and Philip as she was of him – Philip was too busy with the blue ball of fur to notice the newest Pokémon, it seemed. “Salutations,” she greeted coolly, deciding to let the strange little Pokémon make its intentions clear. Wind’s first thought, coming from a less advanced land, was that she was somehow trespassing on his lands, but that theory was riddled with holes, and she dismissed it almost immediately. |

Two people, two Pokémon… One beach. LAWL. Okay, let me skip the corny opening and continue on to the juicy crap. Everything in between… The weather was calming down, but there was no need to say that it was continuing to become more and more brutal by each passing day. The winds were howling at the skies, fueled by a speed that tops that of forty miles an hour. The colossal clouds that blanketed the vulnerable sky let go of some of its magnificence in the form of bitter snow. Then, upon successfully making contact with the surface of Earth, continued to add on to the already present mounds of snow. Phil, busy with the Spheal, had no way of noticing the new member of the “group” as a stray Riolu found its way towards both him and Wind. The snowed-over, sandy beach served as a rough terrain for the Pokémon to walk on and the overall way Riolu presented himself to the group was rather, awkward. Yet, what the two people did not know was that the Riolu had actually just participated in a life threatening race to get away from a group of several humans. To see them, here and know, could very possibly mean a heart attack, faint, or any other shock related action. But- It didn’t happen. Wind simply greeted the beast to allow it to show what it was truly doing on the beach, or even near them. Meanwhile, Phil was crouched on one knee, soaking that said knee in a mound of snow and sand, whiles trying to convince the silly Spheal into joining his already small team of Pokémon. Upon kneeling down, the round blubber Pokémon stopped its game of rolling around and paid all of his attention to the foreign affair. Big, giant, God-given eyes were looking directly at Phil’s as he struggled to translate his words into an understandable, native tongue. Then, coming to the conclusion that Phil was trying to give him some type of inconspicuous food, the Spheal quickly attempted to leap up and down in an act of joy. Though, Phil could very easily take it the wrong way and capture the unsuspecting Pokémon. Let’s see what happens… |

What is that female doing? If my understanding of tones is correct then the female had just greeted me. Why would it, no she, do such a thing. She is either inexperienced or simply kind. The other human was still preoccupied with the spheal. The male had not noticed me yet. He is probably simply inexperienced. I put him out of my mind. I had not noticed I had slowed down while thinking until I noticed the female tense and relax in an almost unnoticeable way. It was then that I noticed other interesting facts as well. First she showed little pain, far less than I expected, even from a small wound. Second she had adopted a relaxed but ready stance, one that could be used to fight or flee from easily. She must have had some fighting experience sometime in her past. The other human still had not realized that I was there. The spheal had been just as unobservant as the humans had not seen me either. It had seen the capture sphere in the humans hands and was trying (and failing) to hop up and down. It had no doubt mistaken it for some kind of food. I turned my attention back towards the female. I shall wait and see what she does first before I act. It may yet prove to be an acceptable commander for me. We shall see. "What comes will come, and when it comes, meet it with strength." I said quietly, remembering my clans motto. |

Unable to interpret the small blue Pokémon’s little gestures, besides the fact that he was obviously examining her as she had done, Wind coolly held her ground as she allowed the Pokémon to – hopefully – determine that she posed no threat. As a passing thought, as she let her arms fall idly to her side, the Titan wondered how Pokémon minds worked. It was obvious they were highly intelligent – especially this one, since it wasn’t clamping a claw around her foot – but what drove them on? Humans for the most part were– suddenly, the distracted warrior blinked her way out of her philosophical reverie, as she realized that she had spaced off again. She focused her eyes now on the little humanoid Pokémon – she cocked her head, ever so slightly, in interest when she heard the Pokémon muttering something to himself. For a few, awkward seconds, Wind did nothing but sway ever-so-gently with the staggeringly cold breeze; as one who knew herself to be nothing more than a more physical extension of the almighty wind, she had picked up many of its characteristics. But when the black and blue Pokémon seemed reluctant to make the first move – subconsciously, Wind applauded this; in a battle, at least, what mattered was not the first move, but the third – the young woman searched her instincts, feeling for the right thing to do. There certainly was no shortage of options: Wind could easily alert Phil to the emergence of this strange new creature, or she could use her red gadget thing, whatever it was, or simply continue her one-sided conversation with him. But as many choices as there were, there were almost as many holes: she did not want to distract him – partly out of politeness, but mostly because she was still reluctant to disturb a male, hailing from a land trapped in medieval customs. For the same basic reason, she did not want to make a fool out of herself in taking until sunset to figure out her red gadget, so she decided to simply converse with the blue creature. Slowly, she dropped to a knee, this gesture serving the dual-purpose of taking pressure of her bad ankle and lowering herself to be closer to the creature’s height. “Is…” she began slowly, assuming the being could understand her, “there something I can help you with?” |

Still thinking of the Spheal in front of me, I had no knowledge of what was going on behind me. I began hearing Wind speak but I could tell that she wasn’t talking to me. Instead, her words were directed at what I thought was a normal person. There was no response, however, and that gave me a hint that she was either talking to herself or that the one on the other side of the conversation wasn’t a human. I still had no knowledge of the Riolu that had appeared and frankly, I didn’t care about it. What I did care about was the Spheal and that was all I cared about right now. Seeing my offer to capture it, the blue ball began trying to jump for joy; the key word being try. The plump young water-type wasn’t having much success with the jumping but she seemed to get the point across well. Since it’s a wild Pokémon I’m dealing with, I expected her to be timid about being captured and reluctant to be enslaved by a human like me. Instead, she made a gesture telling me that she wanted to be captured. At first, it seemed like highly unusual Pokémon behavior but there are always exceptions to every norm. This Spheal might be one of those exceptions and this exceptional behavior can work to my advantage in the future. ”I’ll be glad to have you with me!” I said as I got ready to open the Pokeball to let Spheal inside. I was unaware of Spheal’s true reason for excitement so naturally, I took it the wrong way. That might turn out to be a bad move when I actually open the ball but how was I supposed to know her true intentions? With a smile, I finally tossed the Pokeball over to Spheal and waited anxiously for the ball to stop rolling so that I could put a second occupied Pokeball on my belt next to Rosa’s Pokeball. |

The blue-and-black fighter held its ground cautiously as did the woman linear to it. Were you guys ever going to move? Seriously, my feet are falling asleep waiting for you people to move. Or maybe that's my fault... Meanwhile, Phil got all the action as the stupid Spheal hopped around happily and he revved up the red-white sphere. Ball soaring through the air, it almost hit Spheal and converted the body into energy. Almost. However, one minor problem occurred, and it wasn't something you truly expected. Spheal jumped up and ate your Pokeball. ATE IT! You could take this in one of two ways. One is that you can beat the Spheal up until it throws it up. At least you will get your Pokeball back. Your second choice was to try again, and hope that it will give up the sphere at some point. Either way could work, right? Right? {Sorry, you guys only gave me one action part xD} |
