There are ALOT of members now, posting in the RRT, before they are even reffed. This makes it very unfair for those who are just reffed to wait even longer. Making a new post in the RRT myself, I found that he had posted another request. Evidence below:

Samakaziki

I just reffed his journey, since he was on page one.

His post in the journey: March 12, 2007 @ 5:46PM
My Ref Post: March 14, 2007 @ 7:22pm

His NEW post in the RRT:
Mar 14 2007, 04:27 PM

There obviously was a time difference, and he did double post. If I knew of it earlier, I would have deleted his first request and left a note in the second one.

So finally I get to my question.
What do we do with members that post before they are even reffed? Do we have the right to go through the RRT at like page 3 or 4, or even 2 and delete posts that are double posting and eventual cheating for a quicker request?

We can't expect all the members to do this, because it is just such a small majority that do it. It takes a while to go through all the posts in the later pages to check if they were cheating and junk like this.

Discuss.

The members that double post seem to have the idea that if they post again they'll get a ref quicker. If someone posts before they're reffed, then their first ref request is likely to still be in the RRT, so I delete it. I've seen Skitty leave notes to people on the third page telling them not to double post. If I see that someone double posts then I just delete their first post and leave a note in the second no matter what page it's on, even if it's on the fourth or fifth page.

In Samakaziki's case, who wasn't caught for his double-posting before his ref, here's what I'd do. If I ref him, and then go back to see that he has yet another request in their that was posted before I reffed him (especially if its a considerable amount of time like his) then I'd delete it and leave a note in his journey telling him not to double-post in the RRT, because it's a blatant cheat.

Yeah, when I see double posts, I just delete the earliest one. With "placeholders," I don't... well, actually, I don't bother with timestamps, unless it's blatantly obvious (days before actual post, or they never even replied).

Anyways, to be completely on-topic, I wouldn't go all totalitarian on them and like, hunt it down, but occasionally I check the four-five pages, and if I see double requests... yeah. And yeah, leave a note in Sami's journey; if he complains about it, good for him, he ignored the )blatantly obvious and easy to find) rules on that sort of thing.

I know what you mean. I clicked on Torrey's journey link a few days ago, but found the last post in there as Rachel's ref (this happened once also with Ash Ketchum). After leaving a note saying that I couldn't ref this, he complained that the note should not be in his journey but instead, his post should have been deleted. I think his excuse was that he double-posted in there or something.

...my point is that we might consider going into more extreme measures to stop members from double-posting. This is not the first time Torrey had been caught for it, yet he insists on repeatedly posting... Maybe we should delete both requests and leave a note in the journey?

Well, the process goes like this. If you see in the RRT (and it is okay to double check occasionally) you delete the earlier post and leave a note in the newest post stating why it was deleted and reprimanding them. If you come across a post that you can't ref because a ref is the last post, delete it and don't mention it. They can post again after they've replied.

Do not however, go and check suspicious time stamps. I know that Rune and I are aware of how fast the RRT goes, and we post keeping that in mind. As soon as we're reffed, we ask for another one because we know that we will be ready for a ref when it gets up there. This isn't cheating the system, it's just playing smart. There are some members who do the same thing, and as long as they've replied to their journey by the time their ref's up, it's totally fine and even a commendable idea.

But if it's not, well, it's their loss.
