Adoption Service

Have you got a heart for those poor Pokémon whos trainers have abused them so much that they have had to run away? They feel unloved and feel no more of the wild but something in between. Riverwood Adoption Service (RAS) looks over tohea for those poor Pokémon and give them a temporary home before kind trainers come to us and choose one to keep. At a certain price.

Discuss. My suggestion for a job and service.

We only have Pokémon level 5-10. We have standards if you want to take a Pokémon from here. Heres our rules.

- You must have at least 10+ Fame Points.
- You have done nothing cruel in your journey of tohea.
- You must impress us with a description why you want a Pokémon from here.

Thanks to sap for the comment. That has helped a lot. :yes

No. That is all I can sya.

Can you just imagine it, little new members running around with level 20 Gyrados. It would be a wya for everyone to gain uber strong Pokémon. It completely kills the entire purpose of searching for Pokémon.

The only way I can see it working is if you have to prove yourself as a good citizen to adopt Pokémon. Something like 15-20+ fame Points would be enough to prove yourself. Otherwise people could manipulate it far too easily.

True, it would unfairly give new players a undeserved edge on people who have been here for months, or even years, and had to EARN their Pokémon.

Much appriciated sap for the comment, I've just edited it a bit. Now your views?
True munchkins. It wouldn't be nice for those who have dedicated to being a member so long. But with the new fame added, im sure even you will agree with this. Also for your bad teams maybe there could be a black market of bad Pokémon. Im sure you would think thats good for you to melady.

Intresting idea.....but a few points of my own.

1. A price? For adoption? Odd.
2. Fame points. You know how hard it is to do anything that affects them?
3. Doing nothig bad in your journey. Technically speaking, unless you tag with someone, how do you know of any bad things IC?
4. How are you going to obtain abused Pokémon? 'Cause if you go after a member who abuses one of their Pokémon, do you think you could take it?

As I said, intresting idea. But instead of fame, you might want to go by how old the account it. e.g If the account is a week old, they can adopt up to lv5 or something.
Anyway, thats my views on this idea.

I actually really like this concept, but I think there are a few flaws. The first and foremost is that Tavie mentioned, and that is where are you getting these Pokémon? It'd take a long time and a lot of RPing to get a worthwhile number of Pokémon for this. I also like the idea of using fame points to 'prove' one's good intentions, but fame popints really are hard to come by. Perhaps there could be some sort of monitoring of the adopted Pokémon and their adoptee to make sure they're being treated right... I don't really know exactly how this would work, but ut's an idea

@Tavie: About the price, yes adoption does normally cost money, even in real life when you're adopting kids, so that part makes sense.

I was hoping like any old job agency that keeps popping up this will pop up. Not exactly something I would do in the rpg. Just a suggestion to do. Random Pokémon you can say but nothing majorly great.

Well there are really only two ways this would work.

1. If Neil went out and found Pokémon in his journey and put them up for adoption.

2. If he got Pokémon from people who are leaving or left the site and put them up for adoption.

With 2 however, Neil wouldn't be able to do, it would have to be staff run. And at the moment staff is busy enough without searching through profiles for "abandoned" Pokémon haha.

It's not fair that bad guys can't adopt. =/ I mean come on.. Some of these guys are just split-personality.. Like... Croe, for instance. She zones in and out fron a neutral-bad to a just plain psycho-bad.

Well it wouldn't be that hard to search. Simply go by last post date. The longer they have been away for...the easier it is to archive the threads, and take the Pokémon away. Or the staff could tackle the several pages in each of the three major cities..it would clean up alot of pages in all three cities...god forbid we all know that all 8 pages of Riverwood and all 5 pages of Kadaraa arent full of active trainers.

I could see it becoming a reality, just maybe not so much with +10 fame points. It takes alot to get noticed and to get fame points. Negative points are easy to get, but Positive points are very difficult.

Well, TR has it's own program similiar to this planned, so if you're evil, that solves that. That said, the idea is good, but as the people here said, it would need a LOT of work to actually get right, and right now, since a decent amount of it would be staff-run, not going to happen.
