"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

But for its lack of a port, there really wasn't anything new and exciting about Kadaraa in comparison to Slateport. If anything, it was smaller. How...disappointing. With the sun setting, you didn't even have much time to explore, unless you were going out with intentions of experimenting with the night life. That would likely be expensive, and you were bound to run into nearly any kind of strange pervert, which would be rather a bad way to start off your journey. Perhaps it would be best to seek shelter for the evening. Pokémon Centers were great centers of information, and you might learn something interesting. It was worth a shot, and certainly better than standing in an alley like you currently found yourself. The winds of change have blown you to a new world with new opportunities; would a new you follow? |

Lyra looked rather forlorn, in a ‘kicked puppy’ sort of way as she stood in the freezing cold, dress wafting about her bare knees. Long, lilac locks blew in the harsh wind- wind that felt like knives upon her frozen cheeks. She shivered in spite of herself, and reached inside her pocket, rubbing the smooth, cool surface of the pokéball there. Her first pokémon, Nidoran slept peacefully inside. Lyra’s heart filled with excitement at the sound of that phrase… ‘her first Pokémon’. Everything had happened so fast as she left Slateport that even now, as she stood in the bitter cold of Kadaraa it still seemed surreal. Why on earth was Kadaraa so cold? Lyra’s delicate brow crinkled unattractively in annoyance. Slateport had never been this cold…Lyra reminisced for a moment as she remembered the bright, warm sun, beaming down upon the glittering cerulean seas. She shook the thought out of her head in frustration. She was here now, and she was about to begin the most wondrous journey of her life- she had no time to sit down with a cup of tea by a fire (although the fire sounded nice) and reminisce like an old lady. Narrowing her violet eyes in determination, she set off down the cramped alley, before stopping abruptly. She’d forgotten to decide where she was going. Lyra thought about it for a moment. Although exploring sounded tempting, she’d rather not risk it in a new city she knew nothing about. The Pokémon Center sounded like a good place to start- and besides, Lyra was interested as to whether the plague of sweet, helpful Nurse Joy sisters had spread over here too. She marched resolutely down the street towards the Pokémon Centre, muttering under her breath about the horridness of winter as she went. |

((Your buttons are mixed up, your profile one goes to your journey and your journey one goes to your profile ^_~)) Ah but which way WAS the Pokémon Center? For Kadaraa was rather big city, filled with buildings so tall, that you would have to crane your neck to see the tops, and they certaintly covered any chance you might have had in catching a glimpse of the Center from where you stood. Was the street you were on even the right one? It didn't seem so, for soon it became quite apparent that you had stumbled upon some sort of shopping arcade. That really wasn't all that surprising. Kadaraa had more shops than houses after all, and there were probably dozens of such aracades about. "Miss! Excuse me, Miss!" You didn't really akwnoledge the voice behind you until a hand clamped down on your shoulder. You spun around to find a small stick of a man with a black mustache exactly the length of his upper lip, dressed in the latest fasion, behind you. His hands were roaming over your body, tweeking and fiddling with your clothing. "Yes yes you are exactly what we need! Thank the heavens I found you! Now come with me young lady and we'll set you right up!" Taking your hand, he began to drag you down the street with him. |

“Hey, wait a MINUTE HERE!” Lyra’s voice screeched upwards a few octaves. She jerked her hand back roughly from the small man’s grip with surprising strength, and shot him a poisonous glare. She took in the man’s appearance, from his immaculate mustache right down to his latest season shoes, her mind jumping wildly to the worst conclusion. She’d been told that Kadaraa had quite a few dodgy areas with strange perverted men, but nobody had said anything about snatching women off the streets in broad daylight (or on second thoughts, maybe not so broad). Lyra’s violet eyes narrowed in anger and suspicion at the man. “Just what do you think you’re doing?! How dare you lay your filthy paws on me and attempt to just drag me off?! If you think you can mess with me just because I’m a girl, you tell your peanut-sized brain to think again,” Lyra fumed, poking the small man in the forehead as she emphasized her point. “Keep your hands to yourself next time, or lose them. Now go back to the sunken hole of waste that you came from and stay out of my sight.” With a queenly, aloof air of grace, she dismissed him with a turn of the nose and started to walk down the street again, although still hopelessly lost. The thought of asking the strange man for directions to the Pokémon Centre was unthinkable in Lyra’s opinion, although the passer bys on the street began to look more and more likely. |

The man, quite alarmingly taken aback that such a big voice could come from such a tiny girl. As you began to walk away he seriously considered just letting you go. Perhaps you weren't perfect for what he had in mind afterall... But no. He needed someone NOW. Otherwise his boss would have his butt for breakfast. And there was no one else who would, at the very least, look the part. "Miss! Miss please!" The man scrambled to catch up with you, falling to his knees infront of you and raising his hands, pleading. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to behave so rudely! You must forgive me, I was so struck by your beauty that I simply lost all my manners. But that is no excuse. Please allow me to introduce myself." He bowed at the waist, almost bumping his head into your stomache before he caught himself. "I am Nicodemus Argenta Jimjajoolyjooly, known simply as Jim. And I am in desperate need of your help. I work for a Pokémon modeling company, and we've just been signed on to do a very important line up involving designer pokeballs. But our human model has confessed to being....being..." Tears sprung into his eyes, "Allergic to Pokémon! And thus she can not work. We MUST shoot the pictures and film today. Please, please won't you work for us? Just for a few hours? You will be justly compensated I assure you." |
