These are nice! I like Lian especially, though Cat's secret made me laugh ^_~ You are free to pump up the levels of their pokemon a little if you wish, 20s to lows 30s is acceptable, but these are very good NPCs! So we can move on to your next task! Create 4 different ref posts, each one introducing one of your NPCs to Heero. So basically that means 2 seperate posts introducing Lian to Heero , and 2 seperate posts introducing Cat to Heero. Write them as you would if you were reffing Heero in His journey, but you can make it into any setting you would like. |

+ Lian 1: Waiting for a bite, you wriggled the fishing rod patiently in your hands. The sounds of the moving waters of Kyd Lake resounded in your ears, the waves lapping at the shore both relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. The sun shone brightly on the calm waters, glittering and sparkling brightly as the lake itself was blown about by the wind. The muddy shore was comfortable enough for the long wait you knew was ahead of you, but even still was beginning to seep into your clothes, squelching if you deigned to move. The silty patch of ground was overgrown with bristly grasses that tickled your back, pricking your skin through your shirt. Glancing up and down the shore, there were a few other scattered fisherfolk, each after the same end - to catch something marvelous. To your right, a young girl and what seemed to be her older brother were in quiet conversation, while not far off to your left sat a grizzled-looking old man staring intently into the depths of the water. Your line started to move gently, the reel advancing into the water slightly. Pulling back on the rod to hook your catch, the line began to move more and more swiftly back into the waters of the lake. Standing up for leverage, you pulled mightily, not about to let THIS catch get away. You line was moving in as you pulled, but also sideways... A cry of delight off to your left, and you noticed the old man had a catch too. Continuing to pull, the buoy of the reel continued moving away from you, closer to... the old man? Suddenly the catch broke the surface - :quilfish Lv. 26...and it was caught on two lines. Yours, and the old mans. +Lian 2: Retrieving your Pokemon from the Pokemon Center, you attached the Pokeballs to your belt happily, nodding in thanks to Nurse Joy. She smiled obligingly at you, turning to the next trainer in line in a silent signal that you should please move out of the way. The Pokemon Center was surprisingly busy, trainers bustling one another and making good use of their elbows in order to advance towards the counter, a pair of Chansey rushing to attend to trainers in line in need of urgent care. The trainers seemed to have occupied every available surface and seat, even the videophone was taken. Oh, the old man was using it. Watching for a moment, you noticed that he was crying. He turned to look out at the Pokemon Center, his expression hurt and confused with strong overtones of sadness and despair. His eyes met yours, almost pleadingly, before he stood and began to approach you. He wiped his eyes as he made his way to you, not far but his elderly steps seemed to take longer than necessary. He looked up at you, his form hunched with age and it was apparent that he didn't look after himself very well. "H...hello. I'm s-sorry, did you w-w-want the s-seat?" Something was definitely wrong, he looked as though he was restraining more tears with obvious effort. + Cat 1: Walking down a bustling street in the centre of Kadaraa, you brushed past the moving crowds of people as you made your way towards the outskirts of the city. No one paid you any attention, hardly affording you a FIRST glance, much less a second. The brisk winter wind bit at your face and exposed hands - it was starting to get rather nippy out. The few falling flakes of frosted snow didn't improve matters much, the ground was just perfect for the incautious step to slip upon, and the slightly muted visibility was less-than-ideal. Passing an alleyway, a strong gust of the frigid wind cut through all pretenses, chilling you to the bone. Tall buildings on either side, the alleyway acted as a funnel to the moving air - channelling it all directly onto you. Wasn't that great? Trying to move swiftly to avoid another such blast of cold air, ducking your head to shield your face, you nearly tripped on a small pink huddle in the snow. :Female Lv. 12The kitten Pokemon shivered slightly, hinting that it was still alive, but it looked very cold. It seemed to have a prim, belled collar around its neck, perhaps it had an owner around somewhere? +Cat 2: As you made your way into the centre of town, the warm summery sun reflected off of the high glassy buildings and gave the city the approximate atmosphere of an microwave. Not a single movement of air, just stale and stagnant heat, incubating you like an stubborn egg that wouldn't hatch. The light shone from the high buildings, reflected endless times as the windows mirrored those across the way. The streets were oddly almost empty - everyone with a shred of sanity was inside enjoying the cool relief of air-conditioning. The streets even seemed too warm, the tar soft under your feet. As tall buildings loomed on either side of your path, you paid little attention to them. Suddenly ahead you noticed a crowd of people gathered around something happening in the street. What was going on? The sounds of worried shouts and frantic cries reached your ears from the middle of the huddle of people, reverbrating off the glass and concrete that surrounded you here. The sound of a child crying stood out from the rest, and as the people shifted and moved in their mob-like formation you made out what looked like a pair of people lying on the ground - the centre of attention of the gathered crowd. The sound of running came up from behind you, until you felt a jarring impact on your shoulder and the sound of someone falling to the ground. An older-looking girl in her twenties collapsed to the hot asphalt in front of you, dropping a large kit of what seemed to be various medical supplies. |

Great stuff here ^_^b and I'm very glad Lilly isn't dead, twould be so sad if she was, I don't know if my heart could take it....^_~ BUT! You've passed that section with flying colors, so its onto our next. Battling! Tohea's battle system is a bit unique so we need to make sure you know how to do it ^_~ Lets see what you know and we'll go from there. I'll just give you the basics, then you ref the battle. level 8 vs level 8Ref it however you want, but as you ref attacks make a note of how much damage you think should be taken off. Then at the end put down the totals like a ref would. The codes are: :(pokemon :(hp :(eng but without the ( |

Houndour growled menacingly as the Scyther appeared, accompanied by a soft hissing sound. The Scyther was clearly looking for a fight, its bladed arms extended almost mockingly at its sides. As you gave Houndour your instructions, he nodded obediently and set to work. The Scyther came at him quickly, almost too fast for the eye to see, and pulled in its shoulder for a strong tackle attack, knocking the smaller canine onto his side. Houndour righted himself immediately, having been distracted by preparing his attack, but quickly opened his mouth to release the ember attack that had been the focus of the dark dog's concentration. Fiery flames surrounded the larger bug, making it hiss more loudly and flail its bladed arms as it tried to put the fire out. Taking advantage of his opponent's distraction, Houndour leapt up to bite the Scyther but was knocked away inadvertently by the other Pokemon's arm, landing with a slight yelp on the ground. As the pain of the burns faded slightly, the Scyther turned angrily on the small canine Pokemon, eyes glowing red at it focused its own energy for the next attack. Lv. 8 31/41 79% Lv. 8 27/41 85% |

haha changed the amounts did we? ^_~ These are much better. But just to make sure you got the hang of things.... How much damage do you think these Pokemon will take. Take into consideration their body, their size, type, etc. YOu don't have to ref any of them haha just state how much damange they loose. Pikachu (L24, male) uses thundershock against Squirtle (L22, male) Oddish (L9, female) uses tackle against Geodude (L9, male) Oddish (L9, female) uses agility and tackle against Geodude (L9, male) Staryu (L39) uses water gun, during rainy weather, against Nidoran (L30, male) |

Very good! Perhaps a little to much taken off for the oddish vs geodude ones. But you're in the ballpark and that's all that matters lol. I'll tell you a secret, hp and eng deductions are staff guess work and intuition ^_~ The only thing we have to go on is that a tackle USUALLY takes off about 10 hp points, barring outside circustances, such as the sort of pokemon attacking, and if the pokemon getting the tackle is thrown into a tree haha. But anyway let's get back to the houndour and scyther battle shall we? Same levels for the both of them. I'm going to give you a post and you ref it! "Houndour! Listen carefullly." Heero called out calmly, his sharp eyes focused on the scyther. He wanted that pokemon, and he was determined to capture him. They could win this. Houndour had the type advantage after all, "I want you to use agility and get behind the scyther! Then leap up and use bite, sinking your teeth somewhere in the flesh on his back, I don't care where! When your fangs are in, use ember! Don't stop until he's down! IF you can't get behind him, that's okay, just keep using ember on him, and use agility to try and stay away from his blades!" |

Houndour nodded in understanding, focusing his speed and darting in to circle around the Scyther to gain access to its back. The bug pokemon wouldn't have it, however, spinning to face the canine pokemon as it moved. The Scyther suddenly stopped, lunging forward - but Houndour's momentum kept it moving, and the bug pokemon staggered past it. Houndour took advantage of the distraction, leaping up onto the Scyther's back and trying to sink his teeth in - however, the hard carapace of the insect deflected the questing teeth of the canine. Houndour managed to grab onto the back of the Scyther's neck at the last moment, teeth closing around the more accessible area of the bug's body. Scyther stood up quickly, trying to flail the fire Pokemon off of its back, attempting to reach back with its blades to knock Houndour off. The insect managed to scratch the dark-type up a bit, but it was firmly anchored on the Scyther's neck and gathering fire energy to release a rather large ember attack, engulfing the bug's head in flames. The insect hiss loudly, scrabbling around more desperately to free itself from the pain. Lv. 8 36/41 68%[three-move combo used] Lv. 8 13/41 83%[burned] {( Damage: Houndour: [ -5 ] from Scyther's scratching Scyther: [ -7 ] from Houndour's bite Scyther: [ -21 ] from Houndour's ember (essentially a super effective critical hit) )} |
