Your first task is to design a fun and interesting quest for each of the players below. Take a look at their descriptions and short personality descriptions to get a feel of what might get this particular person interested. Please include a short (3-4 sentences) description of each quest, possible rewards at the end, and what might entail during the quest itself (battling, etc.) Please design a quest for the following: + Heero Yuy: Read the mock profile for his information. + Nicole Wenstrum: Nicole is your typical environmentalist....she's obsessed with all things nature and preserving the habitats of wild Pokemon. In the future, she'd like to establish a Safari-Zone style area on Tohea and is a big leader in saving the Tauros' habitat around Tauros Town. She's intelligent, quick to act, and rather brave...especially for being only 19. + Jack Houst: Jack, is...uh, well...he's a villain. He doesn't work petty crimes, like stealing that Level 6 Hoppip, but goes for the big game such as Gym Leaders Pokemon. Recently, however, he turned down a request to join Team Rocket and is now in hiding...having been sentenced to death for his refusal. Either way, Jack is in need of some major money if he wishes to get off the island. + Ash Ketchum: You know him, right? Little boy, big dreams? Pokemon Master? I don't believe I need to describe him. + Design any quest you'd like right here. + Design any quest you'd like right here. |

+ Heero Yuy: Wandering through Nym Forest one evening, Heero is set upon by a Lv. 8 and :Female Lv. 9If he manages to calm or defeat them, he will find the Meowth's stash of shiny objects between the roots of a tree, while in the branches is the Murkrow's stash of shimmering treasures. By fending off the Murkrow, the Meowth will calm down and offer him a ![]() ![]() that the Meowth had somehow collected. If the player defeats the Meowth and helps the Murkrow, the Murkrow will offer Heero a ![]() ![]() + Nicole Wenstrum: Something odd has been occuring lately around the outskirts of Ayer Town. One of the town's breeders has reportedly been experiencing quite a bit of trouble - something has been bypassing her security measures and stealing the Pokemon eggs that she has been raising - all that's left are some shell fragments and bits of yolk. If Nicole chooses to investigate, she will find a :Female Lv. 7who has been forced into close proximity to the town by a rapidly depleting food supply outside the town. By battling and/or capturing the Pokemon, she will effectively solve the problem and save countless eggs. As a reward for helping her, the breeder would gift Nicole with: x2and $150 OR An egg containing: ![]() and $150 + Jack Houst: A shady character has been watching Jack for about an hour now. Jack just noticed, and is trying to act nonchalant in order to figure out what the unknown person wants. When he ducks into an alley to confront the "stalker", they reveal themself to be a very wealthy businessman who has need of some... special services. He'd like to have Jack do a bit of industrial espionage for him, and is offering quite an incentive, monetarily (of course). If Jack accepts, he will be given details as to his assignment - he must break into the offices of the gentleman's competitor and make a copy of a specific file which must be delivered to the gentleman in three days in the same alley. There are several safety precautions on the office that the gentleman will tell Jack about - the one security guard and a rudimentary alarm system. There are ACTUALLY two guards, one having: Lv 8 Lv 9and the other having: Lv 9 :Female Lv 10If Jack manages to disarm the system (shouldn't be too hard) and bypass the guards without having to battle them, he will be able to access the file. As a reward, the gentleman will go back on his orignal offer once the file has been handed over, offering the measley funds of $450 and x2+ Ash Ketchum: Team Rocket is at it again! This time, the devious duo has managed to screw things up bigtime - they tried to steal a Lv. 14that belonged to the supervisor from Kadaraa's electric plant, but somehow managed to damage one of the main output wires - plunging a large portion of the town into a blackout. The Power Plant supervisor doesn't have the materials to repair the equipment, and asks Ash to return his pokemon and get the materials from Riverwood. When he finds Team Rocket he will face: :Female Lv. 12 Lv. 10 Lv. 15After defeating Team Rocket, regaining the pokemon and retrieving the items needed, Ash will be rewarded with: x3![]() ![]() and $300 + Freeform: While on the road from Ayer to Kadaraa, the player notices feathers flying off the road a bit, accompanied by squawking in the midst of some tall brush. If the player goes to check it out, they will find a nest of four & :Female Lv. 1-3mourning what appears to be a very very sick :Female Lv. 9An elderly woman is tending to the Noctowl as the player approaches, and warns not to get too close. If the player decides to ask if they can help, the woman will tell them to fetch a few herbs in the area, describing the leaves and flowers needed. Once the necessary ingredients have been gathered, the woman will mix them with a potion and administer it to the Noctowl which begins to look better. As a reward, one of the / :Female (Lv. 2)Will decide to go with such a nice trainer. + Freeform: While walking down a busy city street in Riverwood, the player is suddenly confronted by the person next to them - a very angry person - in the street who claims that the player has stolen their only pokeball that contained the character's Lv. 8The player looks around wildly in confusion, spotting a retreating back down an alleyway to the side. The real thief is a petty one, not very strong. He has: :Female Lv. 4 Lv. 5Once the player has defeated the thief and recovered the stolen Pokemon, the original owner will be grateful and reward the player with 2x and $50 |

These are nice! Very good set up you got here. I like how you had a variety of pokeballs and potions as rewards, with a few pokemon scattered about as well. One thing, try to keep the pokemon evolution levels as they are in the game, so the noctowl would have to be at level 20 or above, rather than level 9 ^_~ Okay! Onward! Here's what your next task is: Design a question for Heero in: + In the middle of Nym Forest + Any where in the Unexplored lands And for any trainer in: + A cave in the Rocky Mountains + Fishing in Kiban River Only rather than list out the quest like you did before, I want you to present it in a way you would to a member, as if you were reffing them. Have at you! |

+ Nym Forest: The leaves fell all around you, flashing in the wind exposing their glittering colours - golds, auburns, browns, reds, oranges; vibrant shades of autumn in a slow downward spiral. Every step resounded with a hearty *CRUNCH*, new foliage carpeting the forest floor with every second. Off to your left, a rustling broke out in the piles of leaves. Something seemed to have falled into a large pile of leaves at the base of a tree. Approaching, you noticed it was round and brown, and waggling it's nearly useless feet in the air. Lv. 4Looking up, you noticed several more hanging from a thick branch above you. They all seemed to be struggling also, and with a loud "squawk" you saw what it was bothering them - :Female Lv. 10Perhaps if you distracted it, it would leave the acorn Pokemon alone? + Unexplored Lands: The ground was more uneven in this part of Tohea, past the Rocktomb Mountains. You were finally out of the foothills - the landscape should start settling down, you thought. From the crest of the hill you were currently on, you could see for miles ahead of you: sweeping vistas of grassland, copses of trees, even what might have been the silvery trail of a river in the far distance. Houndour let out a happy howl, he for one was glad of the environment. He was at home in the hills, scampering and running around excitedly. New smells, new sights - he couldn't be happier. He even found some practice for hunting - although if he was going to be dragging any more dead Taillow back to the campsite you might have to have a word with him. It looked like all ahead of you was nothing but easy going, rolling grasslands and quiet strolls into the unexplored parts of Tohea. Well, not quiet. Houndour would be there. Thinking of, where was he? You looked around, searching with your eyes. He had been there just a second ago. Wasn't he? Come to think of it, the howl might not have been happy. Or even his. Starting to panic, you began to retrace your steps looking for your Pokemon. + Rocktomb Mountains: As you stumbled ahead through the dim cave, you trailed one hand along the rocky wall to your side hoping not to get lost. The floor was uneven and rough, and seemed to be - descending? Houndour stayed close by your side, growling warily every so often. Further and further into the mountains, away from the sun, and your flashlight was starting to flicker every few seconds. You desperately hoped that it wouldn't go out, banging the heel of your hand against it - hitting electronics is the most Tried and True method of fixing them, right? Then it went out. ... Bugger. All around you, the darkness finally closed in, reclaiming it's lost ground and obscuring the tunnel from your sight. Houndour whined nervously, nudging your leg with his snout. Against all odds, however, you noticed a light... no... two lights... two glowing lights began to approach you shakily - they seemed to resemble overlarge fireflies staggering drunkenly through the tunnel. That was when you became aware of the low hissing sound that approached with the eerily shining lights. {( OOC note to Roo: It's a , and it's HUNGRY. })+ Kiban River: As you sat on the bank of the Kiban river, fishing rod in your hands, the sounds of the river itself washed over you, lapping at your senses. The water running down the wide channel, around rocks, over soil, splashing in eddies and small tides... It was relaxing and soothing. The birds were singing in the trees overhead, leaves rustling in the gentle breeze. It was almost soothing enough to put you to sleep. But the sudden tug on the rod in your hands sent a jolt of excitement through you, and you hauled powerfully to hook whatever might be on the other end. As you looked through the clear running water to see what you had snagged, a flash of silvery grey and blue met your eyes. As you began to reel in your catch, it was finally revealed: :Female Lv. 7But something was wrong, the river went quiet. Birds took off from the stone sitting in the middle of the river. ...wait a minute. There wasn't a stone in the river a minute ago. The river was too deep for... It moved. Oh. It wasn't a stone. It began to surface a bit more, exposing a very angry looking face. Lv. 34 |

These are nice refs! Followed the rules rather well, and they def give the member something to do lol. However, there's just one thing. When a member has a profile that's as indepth as Heero's is, (and if they're a good roleplayer) its nice to give them quests that fit their bio/personality a little bit better. These quests are all good, but they could be given to anybody. So here's your next task Create two quests specifically for Heero in: Kadaraa and Flora Falls *thumbs up* Good luck! And have fun with it ^_^ Heero is fun to mess with ^_~ Oh! And write them as you would as if you were reffing Heero. |

+ Heero in Kadaraa: Ironically, since the sun began shining again it only seemed to get colder. It shone brightly upon the crisp white snow that crunched underfoot, the light making the surface nearly blinding to look at. The snow appeared to be stubbornly resisting it's rays, although it was managing to melt just enough to start to seep into your shoes. As you walked down the bustling street, you put your hands in your pockets to protect them from the chill wind that howled through Kadaraa, biting sharply at your skin. Your hands found warmth, shelter, and a piece of paper that you didn't recall putting there. Removing it, you unfolded it. It appeared to be a note, or receipt. "One Houndour, c/o Team Rocket" Goodness. You've been burgled. How didn't you notice? You looked around, to see if you could find anyone who might have been responsible... but no luck. Perhaps if you were lucky you'd be able to infiltrate the local Rocket group and get your pokemon back... + Heero at Flora Falls: The roar of the waterfall must be deafening, for even here on the far side of Flora Falls it filled the air with a muffled watery tumbling, even as the basin of the falls lapped at its shores here. The shores were rocky and pitted, honeycombed with small air pockets. Perhaps it would be best to move back a bit, in case it isn't safe to stand - Too late. Your foot sank into the spongey topsoil and kept going as one of the trapped bubbles of air collapsed under your weight. At an uncomfortable angle, your leg was stuck in the ground, although your foot had some room to move. Hopefully your well-trained muscles would make short work of freeing yourself. Oooh. Was that a rock? It felt like a prick. Your head began to spin, dizziness washing over you. Nope, definitely a spine of some sort. Surely some sort of poison. There were herbs around you, but were any of them right for an antidote? That looked like the right one, and so did that... Looks like all the training was about to find an exercize. |

Hmm these are nice quests Jean, and fine ones to use. But I'm afraid they're still not really Heero specific. Infact, for Heero they're a little bit out there. He's been trained as an assasin, so chances are, he would have noticed if someone tried to steal from him, unless the circumstances were outrageous. And while it states he's had mental and physical training, it doesn't really state specifics that he's had herb training, if that makes sense. More like he can make logical and often correct desicions based on whatever's happening, along with basic medical skills and what not, but something so specific as what plant to use to cure a random poison...maybe not? But no worries! ^_^ Let's give it another shot! Take as long as you like too, no need to rush anything k? I know you can do it. Same requirements as last time, only this time make them in... Third time's the charm? + Heero in Riverwood: Walking down a busy street in Riverwood, the bustling metropolis was starting to wear on your nerves. People, people everywhere. All sizes and shapes - big, short, thin, wide... loud, quiet, moving, still... bumping into you as they hurry on their way. Too many people, it was really starting to overload your senses. After having been trained to observe your surroundings closely, you simply couldn't take the sheer quantity of input that was flooding your brain anymore. You had to find somewhere to sit, somewhere off the sidewalk, away from the street, somewhere you could gather your thoughts and think and clear your head and keep yourself from exploding and... The noise. That noise was the worst part. Talking to each other, talking on phones, cars, horns, salespeople, shouting, jeering, chatting... Trying to find an escape, you looked and noticed a phone booth standing to the side of the sidewalk. Ushering yourself inside, you shut the door behind yourself to shut out and muffle most of the sounds. The phone began to ring. Isn't that odd? You pick up the receiver and place it against your ear, expecting nothing. A smooth voice on the other end of the line begins to speak, "Heero Yuy, it's a pleasure." The shock nearly causes you to drop the phone... and you hear, "Careful now. I didn't mean to upset you. We're watching you, Heero. We've been watching you for days. Now, I've got a.. bit of a favour to ask of you, Heero. The decision is totally up to you, of course..." With that, the voice paused for your reply. Something about the tone implied that there is only one correct answer, and any other response might have a less-than beneficial result. + Heero in Nym Forest: The fresh growth all around you is muted in the evening tones as you noticed the sun beginning to set through the foliage. Golden streams of the last sunlight dapple the forest floor in a warm, rich hue, although the warmth doesn't quite make it that far. The brisk spring nightfall is far from quiet, between the rustling of the leaves above and the chattering of the various forest Pokemon all around you. Nincada sing in their buzzy way from the treetops ahead, chorused with the echoing chirps of Hoothoot on the prowl. The atmosphere is relaxed, and by concentrating you can make out the individual voices of the various species surrounding you. No holes in the natural symphony, just a blanket of sounds serenading you gently as you make your way deeper into Nym Forest. There even seems to be a chill breeze, rustling the leaves on some of the undergrowth and brushing against your lower body. Hm. Quite specifically against your belt. And.. your pokeball? It detatches gracefully from your belt, floating swiftly out of reach. What in the..? Something is wrong, and that's when you notice the slight distortion... as the pokeball comes to float between you and a tree you can see ripples in the air that show against the texture of the bark. A pokemon just stole your pokeball! What is it? Pulling out your pokedex, you point it at the pokeball. Lv. 11"Duskull - the Beckon Pokemon Like traditional ghosts, Duskull can render itself insubstantial in order to pass through walls and other solid objects. This Pokemon is able to frighten people of all ages. These Pokemon are generally vengeful, perusing a target until dawn, where they make their leave." This one seemed playful enough... but how to get Houndour back? |

Muuuuch better! Really good actually
^_^ I especially like the first one. Plot wise, they were really nice. But, just one small thing. You controled Heero just a little but to much. In a situation such as this, here's what you can do. First with the noise thing. Feel free to talk about the noise and the crowds of people, and how annoying it would be (in of course a much better written way lol which you do every well ^_^) but don't directly say it annoys HIM. More like "the annoying buzz of the crowds, the constant pushing of elbows into ribs..." etc. Then in Heero's own post he can elect to say if it annoys him or not. And then with the telephone dealy, I love the concept, and its the perfect quest for him. But you can't quite say that he enters the telephone booth, unless he says he enters the telephone booth. So, in situations such as this, when you want to get a quest rolling, you can say something like "You walk by a telephone booth, whose door is slightly ajar. Surprisingly, the phone begins to ring, surprising as there is currently no one in the booth. Do you answer it? Perhaps it is a phone call from Doctor Jay...." and then if he says he answers it, you do the convo of the random bad guys on the other end, and then your set ^_^ Does that make sense? How about giving that quest with the phone a quick rewrite, so test the waters a bit? |

{(Note: I had written the noise/people bits in more of a stream-of-consciousness pattern, trying to reflect exactly how busy and annoying they were... I can change them if you want but I thought it might be an interestingly original way to try something.)} + Heero in Riverwood: Walking down a busy street in Riverwood, the bustling metropolis moved all around you. People, people everywhere. All sizes and shapes - big, short, thin, wide... loud, quiet, moving, still... bumping into you as they hurry on their way. Too many people, it was nearly enough to overload your senses. Perhaps you could find a place to escape the noise. That noise was the worst part. Talking to each other, talking on phones, cars, horns, salespeople, shouting, jeering, chatting... On your right, you noticed a phone booth standing to the side of the sidewalk with its door cracked open. It looked like it might be a wonderful place to retreat from the noises that were gnawing at your senses... The phonebooth wasn't the cleanest place, with unidentifiable smudges on the glass and the ever-present wad of oddly coloured-gum stuck to the side of the pay phone. Do they even MAKE gum that colour? Just your average phonebooth, once-gleaming silvery pay phone mounted on the far inside wall. The phone inside began to ring loudly. Wasn't that odd? There was no one inside. How often do people call pay phones? Perhaps it was for you? |

Great! Very nice job ^_^. THe stream of conciousness thing is fine, as long as you don't project feelings onto the player that they haven't already voiced, if that makes sense. {( OOC: Heero, before I ref you I'd just like to point out a few problems with your post. First and foremost: we really appreciate it when players use proper spelling and grammar, so that we do not have to try to "decipher" what you have posted. There are several online spell checkers that are available for download absolutely free, and there are also links through Tohea itself with pointers on grammar. Also: We really frown on trying to godmod by saying which Pokemon you're looking for. If you're looking for one, then perhaps you will get lucky, but do not try to pressure the refs into giving you what you want. Another point is that your post, while it contains plenty of sentences, is rather short, and doesn't give a ref who is responding to you much to do... Please keep these things in mind in the future, as refs would have every right to deny you an update until you corrected these errors. )} As you continued on your way down Route 1, the sun shone brightly on your skin on this cold winter morning. The snow crunched under your feet with every step, squelching wetly against your shoes. Houndour trotted contently beside you, barking every now and then to vent some of his extra energy. He had been rather hyper in the frigid weather, the sharp wind biting briskly at the small fire-type canine. It seemed that the snow was starting up again, a few scarce flakes landing softly in small piles on your shoulders and head while you walked, not quite quickly enough to shake them off. Perhaps a more efficient pace would be wise? Houndour scampered ahead a bit, before heeling to your side. He started sniffing the air excitedly, twisting his head this way and that as though picking up a scent. Ahead of you in the dirty snow, a trail of tracks led off the path. Just wandering into the bushes on the far side of the path, you saw the tail end of a :Female Lv. 3as she made her way into the undergrowth. Houndour growled and yipped excitedly at the retreating form, looking up to you for guidance. |

You put the note! Woot! Good job
^_^ handled like a true moderator. And you gave him a common pokemon at a low level, thus matching the ref with the post. Superb job! The only thing, is that members actually are allowed to state pokemon they would like to find. Doesn't mean they will find them lol, but they can say something like "I look around for a caterpie" as long as they don't state they FIND the caterpie. But nice job! We can move on to bigger and better things. NPCs! Create for me, 2 non player characters. Give them names, bio, trainer appearance, and any pokemon you want them to have. Really flesh them out as much as possible. Have at you! |

Ah, I added another category to each NPC – something I’ve learned from being an actor is that EVERY character should have a secret. Nothing major, but some tiny feature that makes them in some way absolutely different and unique from everyone else. My character in the RP has one – and I will never tell a single soul. This doesn’t work quite the same way with NPCs however, and so I have listed their secrets so if they were ever “used” the mod using them would know, at least, that there is an extra depth to the character besides what the players will ever see exhibited. + Lian McFinn: Age: 64 Background: Lian was born and raised in Cianwood City in Johto, in a small family that consisted of himself, his older brother and his parents. They were never very wealthy, and Lian was raised to expect the worst and to be rather cynical. After he finished normal schooling, he went into his father’s line of work – fishing. He wasn’t very good, but he was stubborn and slow to admit defeat. He kept at it, with his motto of “practice makes perfect” and soon enough he began to improve. He started experimenting with his own new ideas before too long: knots, line and hook combinations, fishing methods and even bait types. He started to pull in larger and larger catches of both fish and Pokemon, and became known in his home town as a very successful young fisherman. With each passing year, he saved a small amount of money. He had always wanted to travel and fish the waters of the world – and one year that’s just what he did. On his travels he caught several Pokemon of his own, ones that he deemed useful and worthy. Upon returning to Cianwood, he decided to settle down again for a while and he began to save once more. He met and fell in love with a young lady by the name of Samantha Friade, who was flattered by his wooing but did not return his affections. He was too rough, too grizzled and too uncultured for her high tastes, and rejected him after leading him on for several months. His heart was broken, and he threw himself into his fishing once again, swearing off the rest of humanity in general. That is, until he found an orphaned baby floating in a box in the harbor of Cianwood early one morning. Disgusted that someone could do that to their child – their daughter, he took the child in himself and raised her himself in his meager but decent home. He named her Lily, after the beautiful flowers he had seen when he traveled to Lilycove City some years previous. He brought her up the best he knew how, hoping she’d turn out decent. She managed to do quite well for herself despite the humble upbringing she was given, and Lian never told her of how he had found her. One year when he reckoned she was old enough to know the truth, he sat down with Lily and told her the whole story, and while she was upset she understood and thanked him for his kindness and the life he had managed to give her. She decided to go on a Pokemon journey of her own to see the world, and he tearfully watched as the only child he had ever known – truly his daughter, set off on her own adventure to do what she loved. He continued to fish and profit for several more years, until he decided that he had had enough sedentary existence for any lifetime. He packed his things one morning and bought himself a one-way ticket to Tohea, leaving word with Lily and preparing to start another adventure – one that wasn’t nearly as exciting as some, but was good enough for his stout heart. Secret: Lian is extremely ticklish. Appearance: ![]() Pokemon: Lv. 14 :Female Lv. 13 Lv. 11 Lv. 18+ Catherine Skann: Age: 24 Background: Cat was born in Vermillion City in Kanto, and grew up there in a large but usually caring family with two sisters and two brothers. She was the second child of her family, and went from being pampered in her very early childhood to being nigh ignored by her parents and siblings as the size of their family began to grow. She did well in school as a way to distinguish herself, finding that she had a talent for academics. She decided she wanted to help people and Pokemon, and thus wanted to become a doctor – but her family was rather stretched monetarily when it came time to pay for her higher schooling. She ended up studying to be a nurse, finding the work less-than-ideal but also rewarding in a way she came to realize doctoring wasn’t. She studied hard again, applying herself and excelling in her classes. When she graduated, it was with honours from the prestigious Saffron City Nursing School – responsible for most of Kanto’s Nurse Joys. Upon graduation, her parents saved up enough to buy her a present and she was gifted with a Chansey of her very own – her first Pokemon. She cares greatly for Chansey and finds the Pokemon to be helpful in her line of work. She took a mediocre job right out of school, anything to apply her degree. She was accepted to be a nurse on the 4th floor of the Goldenrod City Intensive Care Facility for several months. The pay was bad but the people there were in need of help and healing and she worked very hard in order to help the victims recuperate. After nearly a year, she was offered a better position at the Kadaraa Central Hospital, not head nurse yet but the experience was worth the effort, she thought. The pay was tremendously better, and she was even able to save up enough money to buy herself a gift upon the move – a baby Skitty that she adores with all her heart. Her Skitty is more of a household pet than a proper battling Pokemon, and she would hate to see either of her Pokemon come to any harm. She is a hard worker, studious and serious, wanting nothing more than to really help people feel better. She has assisted in the care of Pokemon infrequently, when the local Nurse Joy has been out of commission for one reason or another. She sometimes find herself at the end of her wits though, having to deal with so many different situations and people on a daily basis. She is far from snapping, however, having learned to manage herself. She is self-assured and calm while dealing with her duties, but inside she just really wants a break. She still is undistinguished to her family, and she hopes that by working earnestly she will be able to turn their heads some day. She lives in a small flat not far from the hospital, mainly in order to save money.
