Who are those seriously overrated Pokemon?
--> Torchic. That's why I quitted using him after a while. It only makes sense to use him when I'm playing as May in the games for some reason.
--> Houndoor. I've never used him and never will. He appeared with Umbreon so it's obvious who I chose despite the strenghts. There's also Arcanine who learns Extremespeed in Crystal so I prefered him.
--> Glacia. I'm making a prediction and I've joined a number of RP sites with the DP installation...you shouldn't be surprise when you'd battling Glacia for a while against trainers. I actually prefer Leafie because I like Grass-types and his movesets are better.
--> Pidgey. As if we have a choice anyway. Fearows too weak compared to him (in his Pidgeot anyway). I prefer Duduo if you ask me. Yup, I'll write that in the underated.
--> Pikachu. Sure he's powerful...with the light ball to he could be unbeatable. But don't you get sick of that yellow cutie? I did. I always used a killer ground attack to finish him off like Earthquake.
--> Scyther. Well..I used him but it's irking he doesn't learn any decent bug attacks until DP. He's not that overrated in the games though. Maybe in RPs because he's more a killer in roleplay, hehehe.
--> Eevee. It doesn't matter anyway.
--> Umbreon. He's just cool isn't he? Glacia just followed your footsteps oh one.
--> Machop. I just noticed it, a lot liked using him. Pfft.
--> Gyarados. He's a dying one though. Milotic practically stomped him already.

that's all I can think right now

now

So I've been using teams who are underrated. Even my Tohea partner is underrated (no offense you buddy xD) so here are the one's I've discovered...
--> Seviper. He has a strong, and I mean, strong special attack and attack, and a great speed mostly equal to them. The nature that made me tell this was his Quiet nature. It didn't matter if he was slower--since it was Emerald, I was able to boost it up easily. He's a killer. A serious killer--critical hit. Too bad his moveset isn't so good though learning Flamethrower was a handful.
--> Grumpig. He has great special stats, and might survive against Dark/Bug Pokemons. He could learn Brick Break for Dark and in DP, Power Gem for Bug. I like this Pkmn.
--> Starmie. Starmie isn't a personal favorite...never even used one but he has an excellent moveset with a strong special attack and high speed. Generally his stats are great but not a lot use him for some reason not even I know.
--> Doduo. What's wrong with the dude? He has the highest attack among flying types as far as I know and an acceptable high speed as well. His movemets are good enough, Tri Attack, Drill Peck, Steel Wing...and for some reason, my Dudrio knows Sky attack...weird huh?
--> Crobat. He's the best. Excellent speed and attack. Acceptable defenses.
--> Marowak. I don't know if a lot are still using him but he's the master of all ground types.
--> Bellsprout. Maybe it's just its ugly form that makes it underrated.

Well as of now, I can't think of any anymore.

starmie... underrated?

you realize that Starmie is used quite often competitively, and is quite feared? Not quite ttar feared, but still quite capable. Other than that though, yeah, good calls.

Well, some legendaries I like, but less for their power and more because they're so cool! If they were statistically weak I probably would still use them.

Yeah. Even without their extreme power, I'd love to have Lugia and Kyogre around.

Kyogre's ability + Thunder = OMGWTFPWND.

Lugia... meh. Way too many electric/ice/dark types for him to do much good.

Yea, and legendary birds are not cool anymore. Mewtwo and Mew already looked like a joke. Rayquaza is cool, I got to admit it. I prefer Groudon though...Earthquake/Solarbeam/Dragonbreath/Fire (it has something to do with volcano) with HIS ability--kaboom

Either you mean Fire Blast or Eruption Tan-Tan. I love Articuno, don't be saying it's not cool!

and it has below-par stats, type, and hp to go along with them. I'll just be horribly raeping you with a DDing ttar and Crunch or something, tyvm.

You can't really say a Pokemon is under or over rated, but in the world of competitive play it's more over and under used.

You made a lot of good calls though.

Here is what we can add on:

Legendaries... Some are over and underused. But they have their own metagame (ubers). Articuno is the wort legendary, and Timid Latias is over used. There are some regular Pkmn that are used as specialists in ubers, and some that thing they're tough (Skarmory, Blissey, Exeggutor). (Exeggutor and Moltres in metagame are a solid uber combo.

Overused:

-Skarmory. Easy. The Dual Type is crazy, and it's moveset is always the same: Toxic, Spikes, Roar, HP Fire/Drill Peck
-Blissey. Has a poop load of HP, andcan learn stuff like Seismic Toss (through breeding), Softboiled... Will just rip right through teams.
-Milotic. Love Milotic myself, but OU
-Tyrannitar. DD, over
-Dragonite. Special Sweeper equivalent of Tyrannitar
-Salamence. Dragon Claw...
-Weezing. Good PKMN, but OU.
-Magneton. Abused... Brought in almost strictly as a Skarmory specialist.
-Alakazam. Calm Mind and Punch
-Gengar. One of the best sub punchers in the game.
-Hitmonchan. Not in meta, because he is the weekest of the three Hitmons... But in journeys people love this guy for some reason.
-Raichu. Like Hitmonchan. Has no place anywhere.
-Arcanine. Cool Pokemon, but no moveset.
-Metagross. PWNS in the metagame, and can keep up in ubers. Is the MOST versatile pokemon ever. You can come up with a billion mobesets for him.
-Magnetric. Poor moveset.
-Gyarados. Already mentioned above.
-Umbreon One of the best 2 on 2 Pokemon. he can keep his ally alive while keep his opponents in the hot seat.
-Swampert. Used everywhere.
-Crobat. Too good not to use, and can Haze.

Underused:
-Exeggutor... Used in ubers as a Groudon specialist... Not used much else.
-Breloom: Psychic and Flying rape him, so his types make him hard to use, but he is a good PKMN.
-Blastoise. A solid tank
-Medicham. Types make him easy to use, and he can be very versatile
-Miltank. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Rivals Celebi in Heal belling ability. Can learn Earthquake for crying out loud!
-Ludiclolo. One of the best annoyers! Toxic and Rain Dance combo to start, and then maybe like Attract, and Protect to round things off.
-Rhydon. Lightning Rod makes him so handy with a Pokemon like Gyarados, and then he can use the Protect/Earthquake Combo.
-Quagsire. Could be a Swampert... or maybe a Phazer
-Murkrow. Weak stats, but annoying hazer.

Why in the world would you put special attacks on a Gyarados? It's special attack stat is so REMARKABLY inferior to his Physical Attack stat. In D/P where he gets Aqua Tail (FINALLY - Physical water stab) along with EQ PLUS DD, he's unbeatable until faced with an electric attack. Switch him out before that point in any case...

Sadly he loses HP Flying, which was good stab, but now he gets Stone Edge (which looks to be a popular type-coverage move). If desperate, Quick Revenge with lowest speed possible...

Gyarados is just missing the elemental fangs. (BADLY)
