"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

"Peculiar," Scuenco said, despite the beauty of the scenery. "No tracks but our own. Not even Pokemon tracks. I don't get it." It was then that he spotted what looked like a snowman. "Heh?" he asked. "Did a human make this? But why would a human come out here to make a snowman? Spoink, let's go investigate!"

Spoink agreed and the two bounded over towards the snowman. Scuenco walked around it and observed it closely to determine something about its peculiar qualities.

The snowman was almost the paragon of such creations. He was equipped as you might see one from a story book or a child's movie. From his round face, smaller than the other two portions of his body, protruded a carrot nose, and resting above that were two charcoal eyes. A smile constructed of small stones grinned below that.

His front was decorated with stone buttons on a jacket he didn't wear, and his wooden limbs stuck out at strange angles, branching off at the ends in a strange mockery of fingers.

His hat was cocked to the side jauntily, and his eyes seemed to look back at you. Spoink continued bouncing about, looking around for footprints or any sign of activity around the largest lower part of the snowman, but with a sudden cry, he leapt away. Was it your imagination, or did you see one of the branches move back into place when you looked back at the snowman?

"SPOI-SPOINK!" Spoink cried out in terror as he was knocked backwards.

"Hey, what was that?" Scuenco cried out, watching the snowman intently. Without moving his head he said, "Spoink, what happened?" Scuenco asked.

Spoink watched the snowman with terror and fired off a Psywave at it in pure horror.

The energy built as practiced, immediately flung forward when it reached what a scientist might call critical mass. Thankfully snow was much less dense than rock and, the four rings struck dead on, slamming into the slightly wet substance and spraying it outwards with a vengeance, covering Spoink and you both moreso than the raging blizzard did.

Though there was now a gaping hole in the lower snowball to the side, looking like an ice-cream scoop of immense proportions had done its job terribly well, the snowman turned bodily towards you, one stiick-like hand slamming down again on the surpirsed Pokemon. What the hell!? The snowman was moving!

"What the hell?" Scuenco exclaimed as the snowman began attacking Spoink. "It's attacking! It's alive! I guess we should fight it... But it seems that an exorcist might be a bit more effective... Use Psywave and then Agility to dodge and Psywave again!"

Spoink nodded. It focused its psychic energy into rings around it, which it shot towards the snowman, aiming a little lower than where the snowman had been hit before. Then, it used Agility to quickly move above the snowman's head and launch a Psywave square on its hat before safely landing just behind the snowman.

The waves of energy slammed into the lower sphere of the snowman's construction, a shudder of disruption going through it as nearly the entire portion exploded in a burst of snow.

It was blinding, for a moment, and as the Spoink bounced off to the side, it completely took over his vision, and he was no longer aware of where, exactly, he was in relation to his target. He jumped up high, however, and loosed another blast of Psywave in the general direction of his most unusual opponent, only to rip the hat in half, both parts falling to the ground as the snowman turned to bear on him.

It was down to only its middle half now, moving about awkwardly as it chased after the pig, stick arms waving about desperately.

"We've almost got him defeated!" Scuenco shouted. "Now, let's finish it! Spoink, turn around and use Agility, then transition into Skull Bash!"

Spoink, who had been running from the snowman, turned around. In a rapid, practically invisible movement, he dashed towards the snowman. As he grew closer the pearl on his head glew vibrant colors and light enveloped him as he attempted to smash into the snowman's remaining section.

{Please try not to control your Pokemon's actual attacks so much, it's borderline god-modding.}

Without time to react, the snowman was easy prey for the simple attack. Its body collapsed completely beneath the force of the attack, turning into the dusting of snow that it had started as, blown about into the wind. The large hat fell onto the Pokemon, covering his head entirely and extending his attack for blindness into a nearby tree, dropping a rather significant amount of snow onto him, smashing the hat down further on his head.

From above, a squeak of surprise split the air and the flutter of feathers and the shaking of small, thin branches hitting each other followed quickly as something small and green disappeared higher into the tree.

Scuenco removed the hat from Spoink's head and placed it in his pack. He looked into the trees at the thing that hurried up into them. Being green, it was easy to spot against the white snow that covered the trees. "What's that?" he asked quickly. "Spoink, I'm going up there. Be sure to be ready to fight." Scuenco grabbed the limbs and began scaling up the side of the tree after the... thing.

The tree limbs were cold indeed as you climbed, and your Spoink bounced back a few paces, or what would have been paces if it used its feet, and looked up into the direction of where the thing had gone, energy already compounding in the crystal used as a focus point.

Snow continually fell into your face and eyes as you climbed through the tree, a natural side effect of its weight on branches that were suddenly being asked to move a little with your weight and the weight of that which you pursued. Eventually it reached a point where you couldn't procede without letting a lot of snow fall down ontop of you, and probably in your shirt. But, that was where the thing had disappeared into....

"Awful!" Scuenco muttered. His sudden outburst caused Spoink to look up at his trainer. "Augh! I'm soaked from all this snow! Huh! But, I suppose that it can't get much worse than this. I'll keep going. Spoink! Don't let your guard down!" He proceeded to shove his way up the tree, through the snow.

Spoink, figuring that everything was fine now, began to ease a bit. However, the energy he had built up hadn't yet started to disapate yet, just in case.

Though hesitatntly, you pushed against the suspended mound of snow above you, preparing yourself as best you could for the avalanche you knew would follow. Follow it did, as the snow gave way and tumbled down around your, covering you completely and filling every open space in your clothing.

However, that was not all that rested above you, nor was it all that fell down upon you. With a small, rather cute, cry, a ball of green feathers from with the snow, bounced off the top of your head, bounced off of Spoink, and fell to the ground to be promptly covered by falling snow.

"That's it!" Scuenco said, looking down at the ground, Spoink, and the green thing, which he still could not identify. Though he would get a closer look pretty soon. The snow and water had made his already poor grasp worse. The branches slipped out from his hands. He flailed, trying to grab the branches again, but to no avail. He plummeted towards the ground. He braced himself for a hrad, jarring impact. But it never came. Scuenco opened his eyes nervously and eased himself out of his braced position. He looked around. He was sitting on the ground. He stood up and attempted to brush the snow from him. Then it struck him. "The snow must have created a cushion," he though out loud. He looked around. Just before he fell, he saw that green creature. Scuenco looked around. He couldn't see it. Then he remembered. It was covered in snow. He glanced at the pile of snow next to him. With hesitation, Scuenco began digging into the snow, trying to find the creature. All this time, Spoink was hopping back and forth, ready to blast the creature, should it prove to be a problem.

As the cold began to further seep through your clothes in the form of now melting snow, you dug around through the clumps of white that were nearest you, hands and eyes searching for the little green creature that had been the cause of your troubles. The first several considerable piles of snow proved empty, at least as far as you could see, but in the last your fingers brushed something distinctly not snow.

Digging further, you uncovered the body of a small green bird. It seemed to be asleep, or unconscious, and was quite small enough to fit in your hand. As you held it, it drew warmth from your hand and stirred slightly, rearranging its feather and eventually blinking up at you sleepily. Oh dear, this didn't quite go as he'd planned.

"Hey there, little guy," Scuenco cooed softly. He set the green Pokemon on the ground. "Hi. Are you okay? You had quite a fall. Perhaps I should take you to the Pokemon Center in Ayer, just to make sure? Do you want to come along with me? Because I could keep you pretty warm and you need to see for sure? What do you say?" Scuenco seemed to forget about the cold, wet clothes he was in as he displayed compassion for the Natu.
