"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

Prologue: Sunrise, Sunshine

The sun shined greatly as the rooster's cry awakened the slumbering townspeople of Ayer. Light winds traveled throughout the city as the trees started to shake slightly. It had seemed as if the trees were making music, leaves brushing up against each other. Every little piece of detail on the trees illuminated by the sun's rays, as the yawns of the young children arose. In particular, one interesting teenage girl named Sierra Lionne, had awaken.

Two feet had slowly touched the ground as the 16 year old girl stretched and yawned loudly. The girl was around 5'4" in height, and weighed around 125 lbs. She has mysterious dark brown colored hair, which had dropped down to the half of her back. Her eyes were of emerald green, which would make anyone become lost if they stared into them long enough. Her skin tone was composed of a slight tan.

Sierra's bedroom consisted of a queen sized bed which had taken a place in the middle of her room. Her walls were of a pink color, as well as her carpet. She had an armory at the left of her bed, and a door which led out into a hallway, to the right of her bed. By her armory was a window which had led to the outside. Outside of her window, there was a tree, which had a branch that nearly touched the glass surface. Outside of the window was a small little bird named Pidgey, which was perched onto the branch. The Pidgey was always perched upon that branch, so she ignored the Pokemon most of the time.

Sierra had then started her daily routine by walking over to her armory and opening it up. She had then grabbed a short jeaned skirt, a blue halter top, her short black boots, a few bracelets, and a necklace. She had then put them all on and walked over to her vanity desk and had started to apply her make-up. She had then stood up and walked over to a big mirror and stared into it for quite awhile. After she had adjusted all of her imperfections, that she had seen in the mirror, she had decided it was time to head downstairs to see what her family was up to.

Chapter 1: The Bet

As the snobby teenage girl had walked down the stairs and into the kitchen of her home, she had noticed her mother placing down a mug of coffee in front of her father. Her father was sitting down at the table, with a newspaper wide open in front of him. As she made her entrance, her older brother, who was around the age of 17, made a pretentious remark towards her. "Oh look, it's the plastic Malibu Barbie Doll!" He said, smirking towards her. "Oh be quiet you puerile child!" She had said glaring towards her brother, Jay.

"Now now kids, stop being rude at the table, eat your breakfast!" Sierra's mother had said in a cheerful voice as she had placed down two plates of pancakes in front of them. Sierra had sighed softly as she took a seat at the table, glaring at her older brother. Her brother was around the height of 5'8" and weighed around 155 lbs. He had dirty blonde hair that went down to his eyes, and was pushed off to the side. He was wearing a short sleeved black shirt, tan cargo shorts, and black and white vans.

The table was very quiet, the only sound that was heard was the sound of forks and knives hitting the porcelain plates, and the occasional gulping of someone drinking Orange Juice. The familiar silence was then broken by Sierra's older brother Jay. Jay had wanted to announce something to your family. "Mom, Dad...I am going to become a Pokemon Trainer...school's out for the summer and it's time I actually did something productive with my life..." Jay had said with a smile on his face, hopping his parents would accept his proposal in becoming a Pokemon Trainer.

Jay's father, John, was the first to speak up. He had looked over to Jay with a stern look on his face, asking Jay if that's what he really wanted to do. John's wife, Mary, had then spoke up, with a worried tone in her voice. "Are you sure honey...you might die out there! You might get eatten by a Gyarados, or maybe get attacked by a swarm of Beedrills! You never know these things honey!" Jay had then sighed slightly, "I promise that I'll be safe when I'm walking, and I'll make sure there are no Beedrills or Gyarados' around, and yes dad, I want this more then anything..."

John and Mary had then looked at each other, and gave each other a look. The look was a secretive one that both of the parents used when they wanted to know what the other parent was thinking. In this case, the look was an approval look. They both had then looked over to Jay and said yes to his proposal. Jay had then yelled out a "Yes!" in happiness. "Thank you mom and dad, trust me you won't regret it!"

John had smiled slightly at his son, "I'll be right back..." John had then got up and left the room. Mary had then talked to John about her passed stories about being a trainer when she was around his age. Sierra watched, not really caring at all. She didn't really like Pokemon all that much, she didn't have a bother in the world for them, all she had cared about was herself. In a matter of minutes, John had returned, with two Pokeballs in his hand.

Jay's eyes widened as he quickly stood up, looking at the round balls in his father's hands. He had quickly moved over to his father, asking him what Pokemon were inside of the Pokeballs. John had smiled and then spoke up, "I can't tell you that, you have to pick one for yourself. One of these is mine, and the other is your mother's. We only kept these 2 after all of our journies together..." John had smiled, remembering his past with Mary and their journies across the regions.

John had smiled greatly and grabbed one of the Pokeballs. His father then continued to speak, "That was my first Pokemon...I hope you enjoy him..." Jay had then smiled back at his father and then looked over to Sierra. "Look what I got, and look what you don't have!" Jay had flashed the PokeBall in his hands in front of her face. Sierra had glared slightly, she hated it when her brother had something and she didn't. She then thought about it and thought it was dumb to get jealous.

"Who cares Jay, it's a dumb Pokemon!" Sierra had shot out at her brother. Jay had smirked some, "I bet you that you can't be nearly as good as I am as a Pokemon Trainer!" Sierra's eyes shrunk a little as she glared slightly, "I don't care, Pokemon are useless and stupid!" Jay had then smiled evilly, "Awww, are you afraid that you'd lose the bet! That's it isn't it, you're afraid that you'll lose the bet, and you don't want to do that, do you?!" Jay's smirk never went away.

Sierra's glare strengthened as she had looked over to her father. She had stood up and stormed over to her dad and grabbed the other PokeBall. "I'm taking this Pokemon, okay mom, dad?" Her father and mother looked at each other with unsuprised faces. Her parents knew that her and Jay were very competitive with each other, so they knew it was best to just let her do what she wanted, before they had to deal with 10 hours of her annoying them. Her parents nodded to her, she had seen the nod, and then looked over to her brother, "Oh it's on!" She replied smirking.

Both of the siblings ran up to their rooms, grabbed a back pack, and filled it with many items. They had both then ran down back to the kitchen to say their good-byes to their parents, when they saw their mom and dad both holding out a belt and a PokeDex. "These were ours when we were little, so we decided to reset our PokeDex's and hand them over to you, as well as our PokeBall belts!" Their mom had said to them. The teenagers had then walked over to their mom and dad, and took the items. They had placed the PokeDex's into their pockets and put the belts on, attaching their PokeBalls to their belts. They waved goodbye to their parents, and the second they had both exited their home, they had smirked at each other.

"I bet that you can't beat the Ayer Gym Leader!" Shot out Jay, glaring at his sister. "I bet that your puny Pokemon couldn't even take on a little Pidgey!" Sierra shot back at him. They had glared at each other for a few seconds. "First, Beat the Ayer Gym Leader, if you lose, I win the bet, but if you win, we continue!" Jay had declared, watching his sister. She had accepted with a slight "fine." "But if you lose, I win the bet!" Jay had confirmed her part of the deal. They both said their good-byes, knowing that they would see each other at the Ayer Gym in the future.
