Well, since most of the legendaries in Pokemon games are running wild and free up until they're catured, I think the Tohea legendary should be just as free, and has different ties to different trainers based off how they met. But if it should ever be captured, that'd just ruin the whole idea of a wild and free legendary.

And a contest? I've got some non-official Pokemon in mind that I made up. It would be sofreakingawesome to have that kind of contest. x3

Henteko makes a very good point about the whole thing about very few legendaries in the whole scheme of things.

As for Tohea's, I also think wew should have special ones to the region though Kyogre and Groudon would make sense to have around too for the simple fact that they're connected to the island's history. I like the idea of a contest to come up with new ones too. I may to do some fomulating :lol .

As for catching them... do you honestly think we even need to worry about that right now? I think the highest level pokemon any trainer here possesses is in the Lv20 range, where as anything legendary would most likely be at least lvl 40 or 50 ...anyone who tries to catch it would get pwnedPosted Image...
Though I suppose it's something we should consider for the future. I perosnally think that they should be uncatchable as they'd make one trainer uber-powerful in comparison, that and the newbies would never even have a chance because the older, more powerful trainers would be the only ones to even have a chance of catching them.

As for the whole psychic thing, I think its a representation of their incredible intelligense and mental prowess. Being legendary it's pretty much a given that they're smarter than the average bear.

A while back, I was talking with Treecko99 about making a custom legendary for the island. It would fight to protect it, it would live within it, etc. I never got around to fully designing it. And I agree, not only would a legendary be a higher level than any Pokemon owned by a trainer right now, it would naturally be stronger.

Thus, no need to worry about unbalancing Tohea. :D

I'd say that the pokémon that best represents Tohea, is Rayquaza.
Think about it:
Groudon and Kyogre were battling, Tohea island sunk, arised back to the surface after a few hundred years or so. Rayquaza STOPPED that battle if I remember correctly. So he in effect, saved Tohea, and let Tohea and Togea arise.
So? Any thoughts?

There are not too many legendaries. Psychic ones just... there ARE too many psychic legendaries out of the total, but I like psychic pokémon :P Then again, Sableye could pwn a psychic legendar on it's own, since Psychic is in-effective against dark, and dark is super effective against psi, then... I'm annoying you aren't I? Well, go ahead and pitch a psychic legendary against a Sableye.

I don't know what to put here. For that thing whatsit mentioned, we could have 3 legendary pokémon from pokémon Quartz, the hack of Ruby, which has loads of different pokémon (Good quality too IMO). And we could have Rayquaza's replacement to protect the island.

Personal opinion? There are way too many legendaries. I think I counted 12 or so in Diamond/Pearl. I know we've discussed that 35 legendaries for billions of pokémon is unbalanced, but, think about it. Presidents. Prime Ministers. How many people do they look after? How many people are they responsible for? A lot. 35 legendaries, considering their "power" (" marks because once you catch them, they seem to become patheticly easy to beat) would be more than enough to look after the pokémon. Celebii can travel through time, as well as the Pokémon of Time legendary in D/P. There's a ruler of space, and a freaking pokémon GOD! Mew can learn every attack that can be learnt. Mewtwo has telekinetic, telpathic, empathic abilities at a frightening level. Kyrogue, Groudon - land and sea. Rayquaza - the one in the atmosphere, watching everything. It's more than enough protection, I think.

Personally, I despise legendaries. In the game, the only reason to catch them is to add to the pokédex. There's only one worthwhile legendary in my eyes. Mewtwo.

Legendaries are annoying, especially since they're starting to overlap each other. Sooner or later there will be a legendary of plastic spoons.

I say all we need are the birds, Mew, Mewtwo, Ho-oh, Lugia, Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. Maybe Latios and Latias because they're neato. That's ten - twelve.

I like Tropius. Pwitty wittle Twopiuuuus. ::squeezes::

I'm new but I think that the following pokemon should be the legendaries of Tohea:

Why? They're clones of eachother, and have no connection to Tohea and/or Togea at all! I'm still sticking with Rayquaza on my point.

Rayquaza does indeed some to have a direct, yet in-direct role in saving Tohea. Well, he failed the first time, but in theory, he did bring it back to life. Or did he....

My personal thoughts on the matter (since I KNOW you all were interested. :D).

I think 36 is a good number, especially considering each region has its own set of legendaries...

... and on that note?

Tohea, being its own region, should have its own legendary/legendaries.

I think it should be a rather big, threatening creature... o.o And as sappy as it sounds? Maybe a gentle giant.

I don't think it should ever be caught...

...>_< He should be a character all by himself. Different characters in Tohea could have different relationships with him, making him into a symbol, and maybe a reminder that there's something left to defend the region if another legendary war breaks out.

Less-then three~!

See, when I picture a legendary for Tohea, I picture one. Not two, not three...but just one. I envision something sort of like a serpent thing with wings that can dive into the water without making a single splash, but yet at the same time, soar high above Tohea and reside within the mountains. Obviously, if a legendary is to defend Tohea, it must like it...Thus, it has to be at home within the water AND within the varied lands of the island.
