Opening

The usual “Please Do Not Try This At Home” warnings play and fade across the screen.

The Smackdown theme Rise Up by Drowning Pool blasts out from your speakers as snapshots of Jeff Hardy, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho doing high impact moves flash across the screen with the final shot being of Randy Orton raising the WWE Title at Summerslam!
The music finishes playing as a picture of Teddy Long appears and fades on the screen followed by the WWE 2000 logo.

The Pyro’s explode from above the ring; they blast from the entrance ramp and finally from the Smackdown set itself. The camera swings around the arena looking at all the fans on their feet as it zooms in on some fans handiwork such as “Has Been Kid” or “Paul Burchill U.S Champion!”

We then head to ringside where Tazz and Michael Cole are seated behind the announcers wearing there black tuxedos once again.

~Michael Cole~ We are Live and Sold Out from Madison Square Garden in New York City! Tonight for the first time in WWE 2000 history the WWE Championship will be defended in a steel cage!!!

~Tazz~And on top of that, New General Manager Teddy Long, must have some tricks up his sleeve to refocus Smackdown as the number 1 brand in all of sports entertainment.

Walking The Plank

The camera cuts back across to the locker room, where Paul Burchill is seen preparing for his match. He wraps a piece of tape around his wrist and looks up at the camera.

~Paul Burchill~ Chris Jericho, at No Mercy it will be me against you. And seeing as I beat you last week, I get to decide the match.

Screams and cheers can be heard from the arena as usual, Burchill raises his other hand and wraps some tape around it as well. He then looks back at the camera and continues.

~Paul Burchill~ And the match type is going to be a Walk The Plank Match!

Paul Burchill laughs casually before standing up and walking off down the hall way to the entrance curtain for his match.

Match 1
Triple Threat Match

Paul Burchill VS Christopher Daniels VS Bret Hart

“Disposable Teens” Blares out over the P.A system and Christopher Daniels walks out on the stage. He starts to progress down the ramp before Bret Hart races down the ramp and connects with a hard right hand to Daniels. Bret continues to pound him down before Paul Burchill swings down on his pirates rope and lands on both of them. All 3 men are down on the floor, seemingly hurt as the crowd cheer wildly.

Bret Hart is the first one up and he brings Daniels to his feet and eventually is thrown down the isle. Burchill hits an uppercut on Bret Hart and brawls with him down the ramp. Burchill climbs in the ring and beckons the recovering Daniels to the ring. Daniels slides in and hits a low blow on Paul Burchill before Bret Hart rolls in and takes his leg out. Bret then spears Burchill taking both men out. Bret quickly attempts a Figure Four Leg Lock on Burchill, but is reversed into a roll up.

Kick out, Bret rolls out side the ring and stumbles around the post, Burchill comes flying over the top rope and smashes Bret Hart into the barricade. Daniels also starts to get up, but stays in the ring and gains some energy as Burchill and Bret Hart try to get to their feet. Bret is up first and hits a few punches to Burchill, before rolling him into the ring. Once Bret is in, he whips Burchill towards Daniels in the corner, Daniels goes down on one knee and hits a drop toe-hold, sending Burchill face first into the corner. Daniels looks at Bret Hart and then they nod at each other, seemingly aligned with each other to take out the U.S Champion. Bret Hart walks over to the body of Burchill and then locks in a Sharp Shooter. Daniels grabs Burchill’s hands so he can’t tap out and then after about 3 minutes of tormenting Burchill he is released from the hold in agony and he rolls out of the ring. Daniels and Bret Hart laugh and Daniels goes to shake Bret’s hand, before going downstairs and kicking him in the mid section. Daniels laughs and then hits an Angel’s Wing on Bret Hart, who is out cold in the ring.

Daniels walks over and locks in the Sharpshooter on Bret Hart. Bret starts to scream in agony and with Burchill out on the side of the ring he raises his hand to tap out but manages to hold on a while longer, he can’t hold on long enough and submits to Daniels by his own move! Daniels is seen celebrating as the show hits a commercial.

*COMMERCIAL BREAK*

The Cabana

"PFFT! I spit in the face of people who don't want to be cool!" The fans let out an incredibly loud mixed reaction to Carlito's music. The Caribbean-like tune boom'ed through the arena as Carlito walked out from inside the titantron and onto the ramp. Looking inside the ring was a fully set up 'Carlito's Cabana' theme. There were two trees and a hammock set up between the trees, two chairs and a bucket of apples. You know, for Carlito spit on people and such.

Lillian Garcia: "Making his way to the ring...weighing in on 220 lbs... from the Caribbean...Carlito!"

Carlito looked around the arena and slowly began to walk himself down the ramp. There were a few Carlito signs seen in the background, such as "That's cool!" and "You're not cool, Carlito!" Stopping at the steel steps, Carlito walked up each step slowly, one at a time. He made his way into the squared-circle by going between the top and middle ropes. Carlito approached the hammock that was attached to the two trees and bounced his body back onto it, laying on the silky net. His music faded out in time and so did the crowd. Carlito had a microphone in his hand, waiting to speak.

Carlito: "Well, well, well. I'm back sooner then I thought I would be. We all know I have a match next week against JBL... but if you think about it... who really books this crap of a match? Putting Carlito in a match against a big loser... the guy I just fought on Velocity! That's not cool! That's why Carlito has decided to throw this emergency cabana segment... in order to call out a very 'special' guest! He's the guy with the funny walk, a very un-cool hair 'doo, and our Smackdown! general manager... Theodore Long!"

"You know it's the Mack Militant! Coming to get it on...!" Teddy Long's music spread throughout the P.A system into the arena in a mere second as T'Lo emerged from the titantron walking down to the ramp with his casual walk. He strode down to the ring and climbed onto it, put his leg over the top rope and entered in. At that time, Carlito looked at him with a grin on his face. Teddy just smiled and took a seat in the available Caribbean-themed chair. The music slowly faded out.

Carlito: "Alright, T'Lo. Can I can I call you T'Lo? Whatever, Carlito can call you what Carlito wants to call you! Anyway, Carlito has a couple of questions for you... the first one is... what the hell were you thinking when you booked me in a match with JBL? C'mon now, Carlito deserves a title shot on his first match on Smackdown! ... not some match with big losers who he's fought and beat the previous week on the half-assed show they call Velocity! So my first question to you is... what kind of drugs were you on?"

Teddy Long: "Now hold up a minute Player, Teddy Long puts you in whatever match he feels you dig? Now before you go out assaulting your General manager remember, Smackdown is a land of opportunities Player."

Carlito: "Whatever, moving on. My next question is... what kind of things do you have planned in store for Smackdown! Ever since you were promoted to the General Manager seat? See, Carlito can act mature too..."

Teddy Long: "Well Player, I have in store one of the greatest surprises ever known for Smackdown. Next week will mark the beginning of the King Of The Ring Qualifiers. Now playa, you will be facing our slightly Peculiar star in the roster Boogeyman!"

Carlito: "Carlito will definitely be there. He will go into the ring... kick Boogeyman's *** and move on to win that King Of The Ring tournament of yours! Now can you dig that? Carlito has just two more questions for you. First, when will Carlito's first title shot be? Second, how do you feel about competition with the Raw brand now that Carlito is here on Smackdown? I mean, we all know the ratings must of shot up 10x higher then Raw's was. Right? No, no, Carlito's just joking. But seriously he needs those questions answered. I have a serious question too. My serious question is... what do you think about your career as a general manager apposed to your past careers as a manager and a referee?"

Teddy Long:"Your first title shot playa? You get what I give you playa! And secondly playa, their is no competition with Raw on Smackdown, Now you better believe that! Now hold on just a minute their playa, Since being General Manager I have gained control over the Smackdown Roster! And next week your match will be a Steel Cage Match!"

Carlito: "What?! How can you even think about putting Carlito in a match with Boogeyman and to make it worse, it would be a Steel Cage match!? That's not cool! You're lucky Carlito doesn't spit in your face for this! You know what? Whatever. That's cool Carlito will win the match regardless of what kind of match it is!

Michael Cole:: "Wow, that’s phenomenal, Tazz! I can't beleive this! The start of this King Of The Ring tournament! That is definitely cool!

Tazz:: "I know, Cole! This is huge!"

Teddy Long: "Hold on, playa! Don't hold your breath because you're match is up next! Now THAT's cool! You dig?

Carlito's eyes widened immensely as he heard the news that his match was up next. He immediately shot up from his seat in the hammock and argued with Teddy Long with no microphone in hand. The camera faded out to a commercial break as the set-up crew ran into the rings to remove the Cabana props, so Carlito could have a proper match.

Match 2
Singles Match

Carlito VS JBL

With Carlito already in the ring after his interview with Teddy Long, the focus is on the Titantron as JBL is awaiting to be introduced. A bell is rung and JBL drives out onto the ramp in his trademark white Limousine. He steps out in a jacket and hat and dances down the ramp.

~Tony Chimel~ From New York City, weighing in at 290 pounds John Bradshaw Layfield!

A few cheers are heard for JBL, but they are out numbered by boo’s. Tony Chimel then turns to Carlito and introduces him.

~Tony Chimel~ And his opponent, from the Caribbean, weighing in at 220 pounds, Carlito Caribbean Cool!

Carlito raises his hand and then walks over to JBL and pushes him. The bell sounds and JBL responds with his own big boot to Carlito, knocking him to the floor. Carlito rolls over to the ropes and starts to make his way up to his feet. As JBL runs over, he pulls down the top rope and sends JBL crashing to the floor. Carlito jumps over the top rope with a Moonsault onto JBL. Both men are out on the ground but Carlito finds his feet first and whips JBL into the steel steps, sending him crashing shoulder first into them. Carlito laughs and then walks over to JBL and starts to slap his head. JBL gets up and punches Carlito in the gut before hitting him once more, he then picks him up for a JBL Bomb into the steel steps, but is reversed into a head first DDT into the steps. Carlito again starts laughing and starts to kick JBL in the gut. Carlito grabs JBL by the hair and rolls him into the ring. Carlito bounces of the opposing rope and hits a Springboard back elbow. With JBL on the floor, Carlito attempts a pin however JBL rolls him up and goes for the fall.

JBL immediately drops to the floor through lack of energy but extends an arm over Carlito.

On the Shelf!

The camera reverts from the Carlito VS JBL match to the backstage area where Brock Lesnar is standing in his locker room. Suddenly Chris Jericho races out and smashes Lesnar across the back with a Steel Chair. Jericho continually beats him down, until he is a bloody pulp on the floor. Fellow superstars and EMT’s race over to check on Brock Lesnar as Jericho is escorted out the building by a set of Security guards. The camera refocuses on Brock Lesnar being strapped onto a board, and driven out in an Ambulance, out cold.

*COMMERCIAL BREAK*

Security!

“Mack Militant” Plays out over the P.A System once again, and the new General Manager looks likely to come out and straighten a few more things with Smackdown. Teddy Long steps out with Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian by his side. The crowd are un sure about what is happening and Tazz sighs “Oh My!” Once Teddy Long, Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels reach the ring the two superstars stand in line with Teddy Long in the middle. Teddy has a microphone in his hand and he starts to speak to the bemused crowd.

~Teddy Long~ Now hold on a minute player, your Smackdown General Manager, as you may have seen earlier was threatened by Carlito. I gave him his fair punishment, but now playa I decided that I need my own security. The two brightest stars in the Smackdown locker rooms, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian! Anyone stepping in my way, will be dealt with by my security guards.

Now before I let the next match get underway, a man in question, Chris Jericho as you just saw has assaulted Brock Lesnar and after the medical report, he will no longer be competing on Smackdown! So for that next week it will be Chris Jericho against Christopher Daniels!

With that Teddy Long and his “security” guards leave the arena and let the Smackdown Show continue.

He gets halfway down the ramp before Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels rush down the ramp and start to beat him down. Frankie and Daniels throw him into the steel steps and then into the ring. The referee sounds the bell as Frankie starts to punch away at Chris Jericho. Frankie picks him up and immediately impresses the crowd with a springboard DDT. ~Tazz~ And in a moment, the main event will begin!

The cage is stopped being lowered and ‘Mack Militant’ is played out over the P.A System, to everyone’s surprise the new General Manager Teddy Long comes out with a microphone in hand and a clip board. He rummages through it before raising the microphone to his lips and starts to speak.

~Teddy Long~ Now, I no you all want the main event to start, but first I have a major announcement to make regarding tonight’s main event, and next weeks main event.

The crowd cheer and fall silent abruptly awaiting the General Manager to say something.

~Teddy Long~ Now, instead of your ordinary Steel Cage match headlining Madison Square Garden, their will be a special guest referee. None other than the other number 1 contender, Jeff Hardy!

A gasp of amazement is heard around the ring as well as Tazz exclaiming ‘Oh My!’ and Michael Cole shaking his head. Teddy Long hushes the crowd down and then starts to speak.

~Teddy Long~ And next week, it shall be Generation X facing the team of Shawn Michaels, Paul Burchill and (New Diva’s Name)! Now without further ado, let the main event begin!

As Teddy Long leaves, another surprise is seen when Eric Bischoff’s music is heard, however he walks down the aisle waving to the crowd before sitting down with the Smackdown Announce Team. The crowd are puzzled, but his music stops and the main event begins.

Randy Orton VS Shawn Michaels
Special Guest Referee: Jeff Hardy

“Burn in my light” Plays out over the P.A system and the fans raise to their feet for the WWE Champion, he walks out with the title over his left shoulder. He cockily poses for the crowd before climbing into the ring and looking around at the structure.

~Tony Chimel~ On his way to the ring, weighing in at 245 pounds, from St. Louis Missouri, he is the WWE Champion Randy Orton!

The fans give Randy Orton a huge cheer, before all focus is retained on the titantron for Shawn Michael’s entrance. As soon as it is heard, the fans rise to their feet and applaud the fan favourite and challenger Shawn Michaels. Shawn Michaels steps out in his usual attire and starts to dance across the top of the stage. He progresses half way down the ramp before he taunts again, Shawn rises up to his feet and slowly walks down the isle.

~Tony Chimel~ And introducing the challenger, San Antonio Texas, weighing in at 255 pounds, Shawn Michaels!

HBK in turn receives a huge amount of cheers as well, before he stares down Orton. The two maintain eye contact before the entrance music of Jeff Hardy is heard. Jeff comes out to a huge standing ovation and runs down the isle in a WWE Referee’s shirt.

~Tony Chimel~ And finally, introducing the Special Guest Referee, from Cameron North Carolina, weighing in at 225 pounds, Jeff Hardy!

The fans cheer as Jeff slides into the ring, Tony Chimel climbs out as Jeff Hardy raises the title above his head and signals for the match to begin, handing Tony Chimel the title. The cage is finally lowered as the bell rings. Orton and HBK lock up and Orton out powers Shawn sending him crashing to the mat. As Shawn gets up, he is met with a shoulder block from Orton, however it doesn’t knock him down and Orton hits a second un-successful shoulder block. He goes for a third one, but HBK ducks and then hits a back hand chop on Orton, followed by another, and then another, driving Orton in the corner of the ring. Shawn grabs him and whips him across the ring into the other corner. Shawn races towards him but is met with a high elbow, followed by a low kick to the groin. Orton takes advantage and throws Shawn back first into the cage. Shawn is repeatedly thrown into the cage, and every time inflicting more pain on his upper back. Orton throws his against the cage one last time, as Shawn’s knees buckle and he falls to the mat. Orton dives on him for the pinfall.

Kickout, HBK rolls to the side of the ring as an angry Randy Orton complains to Jeff Hardy for counting to slow. Jeff says that he had his shoulder up, and then Orton punches him around the face. Jeff clutches his cheek before unleashing a massive fury of left and right fists to Orton. He throws Orton into the corner and then proceeds to hit a Whisper in the wind! Orton crashes to the floor as Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michaels rolls up. Hardy walks over to Michaels and tells him that the title belongs to him. Michaels takes it offensively and delivers a back chop to Hardy sending him back to the corner. Michaels goes to hit a Sweet Chin Music, but Hardy ducks and Michaels hits it on the recovering Orton, sending him to the ground once more. Hardy looks at Michaels, who dives on Orton for another cover, however Jeff doesn’t give a pin fall and instead stands in the corner staring down Shawn Michaels. As Shawn gets to his feet he is met with a punch to the face, and a low blow from Orton behind him.

Orton then squats down on all fours and Hardy pushes Michaels back over Orton, tripping him up. Hardy looks at Orton and then opens the cage door, and hops out. Orton walks over to the cage door and seems to be climbing out when Jeff smashes the cage door over his head. Jeff locks the door up once more and starts to laugh from the outside. However, Randy’s manager Bob Orton quickly runs down the ramp with a cast in his hand. He smashes it over Jeff Hardy’s head and then starts to deliver a huge amount of punches to his head. Bob then opens the door and lets Orton try to squirm out of the ring. However as he starts to climb out, Shawn grabs his foot and drags him back into the ring.

Bob is furious and climbs into the ring and starts to hit Shawn Michaels. Bob and Randy proceed to hit him and then whip him against the ropes, Shawn ducks and hits a rebound double clothesline on them both and knocks them down. Randy gets up first and is met with a snap suplex, quickly followed by Bob who receives the same treatment. Shawn then grabs Bob Orton and throws him head first into the door of the cage, swinging it open and Bob tumbling out, blood massacred over his forehead. The door swings shut.

Jeff gets up and grabs Bob Orton and throws him over the barricade. The two brawl through the crowd and out of the arena. The camera refocuses on Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton in the ring. Orton is on the floor using Shawn Michaels as a support to get up and as soon as he is up he quickly cheap shots HBK and hits an RKO on him. Orton dives on for the cover, un aware that there are no referees to do the count. Orton gets up and then starts to climb up the cage. He just reaches the top as HBK springs up and knocks him off the cage, by shaking it. Orton falls, but manages to deliver a cross body to HBK, both men lay on the floor out cold. A replacement Referee runs into the ring and starts to perform a 10 count

~Michael Cole~ Oh my Tazz, Shawn has his chance to claim his title back!

HBK continually stamps his foot until Orton gets up using the cage as a support, he turns around as a bloody mess and HBK comes crashing into his face with a sweet chin music! Orton buckles to the floor as HBK leans on the turnbuckle. He climbs up the cage and reaches the top. He looks down and then thinks about his WWE Championship win, but then turns around and nails Orton with a high diving elbow.

Michaels and Orton lay out cold in the middle of the ring, Shawn once again springs up and grabs Orton, pulling his lifeless carcass to the air. Orton delivers a low blow, before staggering on his knees and hitting an RKO! Michaels and Orton both fall to the mat out cold.

“I’m The Boogeyman! And I’m Coming to Getcha!” Is heard out over the P.A system
