This is my Inspiration, made it myself when thinking about different board Ideas and developed it to this point.

The Insidious L.A.R.P. Society, (League for Adverturous Roleplaying Paradigms), a small team of Game Masters, stumbled upon ancient Technology dating before Time and Space were realized. With this ancient Technology, the L.A.R.P. society realized they could finally do literallty what they have been doing figuratively for years... they could create another universe filled with all the Video Games, Anime, and D20 Systems ever created as actual things and then Transmigrate, or Transfer, their minds into any type of creature their hearts desired. Now they force random people into their universe with the utmost precision, the Technology forcing anyone it touched into a character of their minds. Can you escape this too realistic world? Or, do you want to stay in this Larping Experience?

And, I think I'm taking a Battle Cards system into the mechanics.

What do you think?

I like it, I think I would be totally interested in joining if you made a board like that!

I agree, that'd be quite an interesting board to visit now and then. Sounds cool.

Well, what do you think about the Battle Cards type of thing? It will probably go something like this...

You have 3 Card Slots to equip Cards during battle. Each slot is a different color, giving each a different Card base.

Red - Attack and Power based Cards
Blue - Magical and Magical Effects based Cards
Green - Support and quirky Cards

As an overall scheme, they'd go like this with some splashing effects.

Red - Physical
Blue - Mental
Green - Other

Cards would be obtained like Battlechips, you defeat others and gain their Cards... like

Goomba - Red
+20 Hp
+2 Ranks Strength
-2 Ranks Defense
+Goomba Bite Attack (3 Sp)

Finally, you can carry 10 Cards into Battle, you may switch into and out of Cards once at the end of your Post every 2 Posts.. but each Card can only be equiped twice.

(Don't draw any conclusions, the values there are just examples and may not be anywhere near the same when the board opens.)

I don't think I like that Idea, I never liked that battle system in other video games.

and an Elemental Wheel!

Code:

→   Water    →   Fire  →   Nature  →
      ↓           ↓           ↓
→ Lightning  →   Wind       Earth  →
      ↓           ↓           ↓
→   Shadow   →  Plasma  →   Solar  →
      ↓           ↓           ↓
   (Fire)     (Nature)    (Water)

Best way I could draw it is that way, a Circular wheel would look too messy. Does everything make sense? Should Earth defeat Solar, and Water defeat Lightning?

Earth Blocks out the Light

Water Short-circuts the Lightning (Why does Lightning beat Water normally? Would Lightning really hurt a Water Elemental? Pure water does NOT conduct eletricity)

Actually, it does. That's how water short-circuits electrical appliances. The water carries the electricity to places it shouldn't be, breaking the closed circuit, frying the stuff inside.

Pure water is impossible to obtain, too. If I remember my Chemistry correctly, H2O dissociates to form H+ and OH- ions. A reversible reaction, as these ions can then form covalent bonds with each other to form HOH, or H2O. It's these ions that can carry electrical currents, and therefore, all water can conduct electricity.

Why water pokémon always lose to elec types, is because the water stored in their body can carry around an electrical charge all over. As they have more water than the average 'mon, it'd be more damaging to them.

But, think of being struck by lightning. Most of the time, the pressure exerted from the (static) electricity would be enough to kill you, but the electrical current itself would be a high enough voltage to fry you. Whenever water pokémon get hit by an electric attack, they should die!

That's food for thought for y'all.

But, without going off on a tangent, it looks awesome and I'd join!

It sounds good (very interesting), but you could probably leave the battle card system out.

Would you be able to help me get some of above? Some are obvious (to me), and I get them, some, not so much (again, too me) and would love for you to explain. They're the stuff not crossed out. To make is simpler, I'll make a list:

  • Skills - I get it, but at the same time, don't. What skills you talking about, the supernatural type, or the 'lockpicking' type?
  • Archetypes/Overtypes - ... Wha?!
  • Special Attacks - As in "Swing sword"? "Right hook"?
  • Special Abilities - As in "Lightning strike"?
  • Glitches - ...?
  • Collector's stuff - Hm?

Ah yes, Perhaps I should explain it a bit.

Skills are the Lockpicking type, just some general stuff that your can do fluently. Swimming, Climbing, and others are assumed... but Lockpicking, Disable Traps, Crafting things, these are not. It is more for Roleplaying and gives me a better idea of what you are shooting for.

Archetypes and Overtypes... This is the stuff your character is made of and greatly affects what your character can and cannot do.

Quote:

-Primary Archetypes-
Skill User - Characters here use Sp to activate their Abilities
Gauge User - Characters here use a Gauge of some sort to use their abilities
Usur - Characters here can always use their abilities, or use them with time constraints or other restrictive method.

Skills - Your Typical Mage type Character falls here, but you could fit a Tohean-style Pokémon into it as well.

Gauge User - Think Fighting game. You get a gauge, say ---+++=== that fills up one every time you pull off a special move.

Usur - Pretty much the 'Other' Category.

Quote:

-Secondary Archetypes-
These Archetypes reveal how your character becomes stronger as they gain experience.
Collector - Characters here can gather new abilities and use them side-by-side with natural abilties
Modifier - Characters here change their 'style' to fit the time and need, the 'style' being a battle stance or other determination. They develop powers to fit these styles.
Mastery - Characters here just develop their inner strength to no end. Although Collector and Modifier are often Mastery as well, those who are only Mastery develop more abilities faster.

I'll leave that, as I think they explain themselves well enough. It also covers Collector Inventory.

Speical Attacks - Things like Firaga, Hyper Beam, Hadoken, or some other attack that does not involve simple Martial arts or other simple attacks... attacks not given from 'Natural Weapons' or Equipment.

Speical Abilities - More along the lines of 'When you have 25% or less HP, your Fire Moves are 1.5x stronger' or 'You absorb Electrical attacks that strike you, healing 1/2 of the damage that would have been dealt. Things that are Passive.

Glitches - Lack of a better word... things like 'Attacks every other turn only' or 'Cannot evade attacks'. Taking Glitches will allow you to gain more Speical Attacks and Abilities, or stronger ones.

Good good, that is what I am looking for. Now I have sufficent push to change it. Onward!

EDIT:

What would you think of switching Water to good vs Earth, and Nature to good vs Lightning? Nature, plants, resistance... but strong against? Hmm..

EDITs:

The BattleCard system is now just an optional thing alongside everything else.
