So, Diamond and Pearl are finally out in Japan. Most all of th enew Pokémon have been revealed, witha few surprise evolutions in there.. What does everyone think of the game from what they've heard?

Personally, I'm thrilled to hear that the Day/Night system is back, and better. That system rocked in the Metal Generation. Also, I'm looking forwards to exploring the new region, though not so much with the male trainer. There's something about the look I don't like. Maybe the hat.

Also, what do you think of the new evolutions for Electabuzz, Lickitung, and so on?

I think the game will be really great! I like how they made it to the DS's full limit of grapghics and gameplay. I think it would be nice to have a WI-FI gameplay to actaually do co-op with your friend. I've gotten my info from Serebii.net.

I've not seen the new dex yet. Look any good?

Saying that, I'll always stay true to the original 151 pokémon. Always. Notice how 90% of the wild 'mons I ref are in the first 151 ^_~

Oh, and Houndour. Houndour Rocks!

I agree, Houndour is cool. The new Dex has a few new Pokémon, ranking the total up to 493, and a third of the new ones are Water Types. That's 30+ of them, while there are about 5 new Fire and Ice types. Meaning those who don't get the monkey will be pretty dependant on Ponyta/Rapidash.. As these are the noly two Fire types available until you've seen all of the Shinou Dex's Pokémon. Remember, Seen, not caught.

THere are a lot of new evolutions, particularly for non-evo or only-prevo Pokémon, like Magmar, Electabuzz, and now Tangela, Misdreavus and Murkrow. Even Magneton and Togetic got evolutions, though Togetic's looks stupid. There are also both a pre and evolution for Roselia, the latter obtainable via a new Light stone.

Oh, and there's a fourth Regi - Regigas. You take your three Regis from Hoenn there after trading them in, and there is a fourth somewhere.

Oturan, it would be cool to be able to walk around casually with yor friend.. It is actually possible, if only in the Shinou Underground. You get to take part in fun little Capture The Flag-style matches, while dodging traps all the while.

When I get my copy when it's out in the UK, I'll post my Friend Code up here. I'm getting a Black DS lite for my birthday (Two weeks time! ^^), and I'll be Wifi battling all of you! Beware!

Oh, and by the way, most of my info is from Serebii, too.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of all of the new Pokémon?

I'm guessing Serebii.net

Yeah, Serebii.net has it. Both the owner and Coronis are going through finding the new ones. All of the Icons are here:

Also, the first ever Water/Steel type, is the final evolution of the Penguin! Yayness!

is it just me or do the starting three look a little babyish? they dont have the kick butt appeal that the original three or that even some of the others do. i mean everyone is going to be picking the monkey-fire thing becuse it looks the coolest.

finally they did something with a gangster appeal(lol) creating two different color Pokémon, one for west and east. granted there are only two Pokémon confirmed to have two different colors but still its great.

the two big legendaries also bother me. im taking it the two in serebii's banner are the legendaries, but why does one of them look like a power ranger mega-zord? Did they run out of original ideas after almost 500 Pokémon to make legendaries of?

i also seen something on serebii about psychic legendaries...that would be pretty cool.

new evos...granted some really needed it like lickitung and tangela, but did ryhorn and magneton really need another evo? they could of made a evo to a Pokémon that really didnt get a lot of respect in the 150 like farfetch'd and made it a kick butt evo. Not take some powerful evos already and make them into a more advanced form. they should take alot from the first 150 even up to 250 and start making evos for them.

or what about the starters like charmander and bulbasaur, give them some unknown reason to turn into something different and make another come back.

another thing they could have add into the plot was dark Pokémon. Add something with a powerful twist, have the main character decide to go good or bad then put the Pokémon accordingly. Theres a PLOT! not the same old stuff thats going to hook the same old fans and not bring any new ones in.

just my two cents

Th Starter Pokémon have been babyish looking for the past couple of generations. THey're meant to look cutesy to attract more people in, I think. Or to make them change like humans. Cute baby, teen, cool adult. I think.

On the subject of the plot, it would be a great idea, but would it work? Sure, everyone'd enjoy it, but it means more work for the writers, and as we all know from Colosseum, they're quite lazy. I nice idea, but unlikely.

And with Legendaries, I have to admit, the newer ones are looking more like screwed-up Digimon, or like you said Power Rangers Zord things. THere are a few good ones in Diamond and Pearl, in particuar the Legendary Psychic Trio (Which all look strangely like Jirachi), and the Fire/Steel legendary. That one looks cool.

oh yeah!

i like how nintendo pushed back D&P in american to spring 07 cause they are afraid of it not selling this winter due to the North American Wii Release that will just dominate everyone this winter.

GO NINTENDO and poor planning!

Whoa, by the looks of that screen, it looks amazing! I found out about just an hour ago after searching for Pokémon Sprites. Wow, I can't wait!
