Non-Weekly Quote:
(Updated when the fancy strikes us)
"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

Getting The Most Out Of Your Journey
A guide to getting things done.

Journey Link

Include a link to your journey in your signature. Trust me, it helps. If we see a post on the board, we might check to see if you need a referee. It also saves you the worry of having to give staff your journey link if you post in the Request Referee topic.

Request Refereee

Speaking of the Request Referee topic, you MUST post there if you need a referee. It's link is posted at the top of all in-character boards, so it's not hard to find. Staff will visit that topic, see you need a referee, and do so. Here's a link if you're feeling particularly lazy.

Profile Link

Include a link to you're profile in your signature. No longer will staff be refereeing journeys if you don't have a profile link. Do you really want to miss the chance to get refereed simply because you forgot a link? Make sure you include it the moment you're profile is approved.

Include Actions

Include actions in your post. Don't simply say things like "I stare at the ground wondering where to go." We don't know where you want to go! We usually have to post saying what you want to do, but sometimes staff feel generous and give you a Pokémon encounter. Don't expect an Eevee, though, you're probably going to get a pathetic Rattata. Thus, include where you want to go and what you want to do ON TOP of other things.

Combining Actions

This isn't exactly the best of roleplaying, but if you REALLY want to get in and out of cities quick, you may combine actions. Things like "I quickly visit the Pokécenter, get my Pokémon healed, and next head towards the Pokémart to purchase two Pokeballs." Obviously, I want the post to be longer than that as that was pretty horrible. At least take the time to describe what you see, etc. Read the Roleplaying Guide in the How To Play if you need help with roleplaying. If you combine actions every once and a while, we simply referee you as visiting all those locations. If you combine actions, you may miss important quests and or encounters. Say for example there was someone in the Pokécenter who needed your help? Well, you went right to the Pokémart and missed the opportunity.
