Non-Weekly Quote:
(Updated when the fancy strikes us)
"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

Frequently Asked Questions

Multiple Attacks
You may use TWO attacks per round. This allows for a great way to do some damaging combinations. For example, "Pikachu, use agility and then skull bash!". Obviously, with the speed from agility, skull bash would do much more damage than normal. Be creative with your attacks.

You may use THREE attacks once per battle. This is called your 3 move combination. That means, for one round every battle, you may tell your Pokémon to use 3 attacks. This is another way to do some good combinations; if you're playing defensively, a combination of ranged moves and Agility could allow you to make it through a round unscathed, while having done considerable damage. Of course, a trio of Flamethrowers would, conceivably, do a fair bit more damage than a lone one, eh?

IF/THEN/ELSE Commands
'IF/THEN/ELSE' commands are possible. Named for the commands within the programming language they originated in, these commands offer you a way to plan a round out in advance, even considering potential situations throughout the round. For example:

"Magneton, start off the round with Sonic Boom to disorient the opponent, then use Thundershock IF that worked! If it failed, let that Cubone come in close, THEN use Metal Sound to knock it off balance! If the first combo went through, THEN use Thunderbolt to fry that bastard! IF it didn't, use Tackle to crush that little runt into the ground!"

And no, you don't have to use a retarded format like that. Feel free to use any combination of (lowercase, if you please? Contrary to popular belief, Capslock is NOT cruise control for cool) if/then/else statements, or even work them into normal battle commands like I did. Hell, use a friggin' chart if you want to cover every possible angle; just don't expect a lot of moderators to want to ref it.

Species Abilities
Species Characteristics, a.k.a. abilities, are valid in Tohea. Abilities tend to work the same as they do in the games; Drizzle would start a localized rain, whereas Air Lock would do away with weather in the area, and Slipstream would whip a steady sandstorm in your vicinity. If a staff member doesn't take an ability into account during a ref, don't fret; with 493 Pokémon, it's not an easy task to keep track of them all. Just remind your ref, and they'll no doubt be happy to fix their error.

We go by the most recent game for our PokeDex, which in this case is Diamond and Pearl. Our recommended PokeDex is Serebii.net and or PsyPokes.com.
