Since our points system we've been dominantly using in the past for submissions is now defunct with no signs of recovering, we have ultimately decided to permanently switch from using points to posts amount. Furthermore, we have increased the maximum amount of submissions for both the SCIII and SCIV CaS websites to 24 instead of the usual 10. Submitters who has submitted the maximum 10 can now submit 14 more, if their posts amount allows it. This is also the new posts amount required for submissions list: 0 Posts/FREE = 1st character with character page + screenshots 5 Posts = 2nd character with character page + screenshots 10 Posts = 3rd character with character page + screenshots 15 Posts = 4th character with character page + screenshots 20 Posts = 5th character with character page + screenshots 25 Posts = 6th character with character page + screenshots 35 Posts = 7th character with character page + screenshots 45 Posts = 8th character with character page + screenshots 55 Posts = 9th character with character page + screenshots 65 Posts = 10th character with character page + screenshots 80 Posts = 11th character with character page + screenshots 95 Posts = 12th character with character page + screenshots 110 Posts = 13th character with character page + screenshots 125 Posts = 14th character with character page + screenshots 150 Posts = 15th character with character page + screenshots 175 Posts = 16th character with character page + screenshots 200 Posts = 17th character with character page + screenshots 225 Posts = 18th character with character page + screenshots 260 Posts = 19th character with character page + screenshots 295 Posts = 20th character with character page + screenshots 330 Posts = 21st character with character page + screenshots 365 Posts = 22nd character with character page + screenshots 415 Posts = 23rd character with character page + screenshots 465 Posts = 24th character with character page + screenshots Anything above = no further additions These changes have been reflected in all support threads and submissions forms. This is definitely an improvement, but I feel it does have some noteworthy drawbacks: It's spamalicious! Yeah, it's kinda obvious this would come up as a reason against it, but it does pose a bit of a problem and enforcing something like a quality control of posting would be a bit...well, bad. I'm not saying the forum will absolutely be flooded by posts that make mine look like a Stephen Hawking thesis, I'm just saying it may be detrimental. I can't think of a perfect system by any means, but here's the best I can come up with(at least until I run with an idea so bad it breaks the universe and therefore becomes good): Users gain a character slot for various milestones. Register account: +1 Create Masterlist: +1 Acquire 5 Likes: +1 1-Month Mmebership: +1 30-plus posts: +1 "Good Guy Confirmation": +1 Confirmed a Good Guy(first time only): +1 And similar things like that. I was thinking that if we encourage everyone to play together, be nice, and try to gently push newbies(*raises hand*) into getting to know everyone and just well, make it more fun for everyone. I'd also like to say that I *LIKE* the idea of being able to vouch for people, but the thing is there needs to be something that would prevent it from becoming a closed system where the only way in is to already be in---so any vouching for anyone(including the suggestions I've made) needs to be considered very heavily for its pros and cons before being implemented ![]() I'm thinking a milestone system with multiple milestones would probably work better, but that's just some random schizo's theory. I apologize if I'm coming off as full of myself or whatnot, just trying to voice some thoughts. |

it'll allow people to contribute to the site who may not get SCV right away, or for those who dont have a current system or SCIV yet. it'll help renew interest in SCIII also. |

Yo guys; it's been awhile hasn't it? I'd just thought I'd drop in to see how everyone was doing...I've been busy as all hell as you would have probably guessed but It just so happened that this afternoon I've got a little more time than usual. Seems I have a bit of a gift for dropping in at exactly the right time though... So the AIO has crashed & burned has it? It never really worked that well for me anyway, so I don't really mind. Old system out new system in... Would I be right in assuming that all of our previous posts are still counted; even for those of us who haven't exactly been around a lot? Anyway; got a lot of catching up to do so I'll be around... Until next time. Cheers. |

Wandrian: While I generally like your idea, such a system like that would require excessive manual labor on the administrators and moderators (i.e. keeping track of every user who acquired likes, creates masterlists, etc.). We additionally simply use existent scripts on the internet to provide extra services such as the likes system and now deceased AIO points system. So, coding something like that to avoid the manual labor is out of our hands, as we don't have the knowledge to do so. Also, we monitor user's posts; so if someone is obviously spamming to get their posts up they are disqualified of their submissions. We also on top of that already have a anti-spam policy as part of our board rules. This posts system assures the easiest way for both users and us to manage submissions. Like I said, I do like your idea and appreciate the input. I wonder what Perseonn has to say about all of this? Yes, all current posts are counted towards submissions. Without AIO, there's no other method to just start fresh. Edited by C.T, Feb 2 2012, 12:57 AM.

The idea is certainly good, although it reminds me of "Pressed Start at Main Menu" X360 Achievement. CT has a good point that we need a code to make it automated. Manual labor on counting points have been done before. It's tedious and eventually the system broke down into the dreaded manual log, although it may lead to the glorious Hall of Fame. At the moment I already devised an automatic post tracker, to know which member has how many allowance (the posts need to be changed manually). This only counts the submissions since January 2011.

@ C.T: Aye, but aren't most of those ideas things that can be tracked automatically? I know that automatic usergroup graduation isn't something that requires more than say fifteen minutes of one afternoon to setup, but most of the others that just I came up with shouldn't be any more labor intensive either. Maybe it's not a good fit for here, but I just really think something that encourages everybody to play together and all would be a good idea. That, and it seems tricky to reach some of those higher post counts without actually trying to pad the count(all those old topics begging to be bumped lolol). Well it was worth a shot at least

It's up to user if they want to increase their post count to be able to submit more(hint: look for the latest threads in the presentation section easy posts, otherwise old threads are just going to up your warn level) |

So I have a quick question about the new system. So let's say someone joins, is that 1 free character total (they pick where to create character from) or is that 1 free character for SCIV, SC:BD, and SCV? I do like the new system though regardless. |

Joining is not required for 1st free character, so you can successfully submit a character if you are a guest. Each game/website submissions are all separate, meaning posts requirements are tied to their specific games only. So if you were to submit the first time, you are allowed 2 total submissions (1 for SCIII and 1 for SCIV). I did not include SCV because the guidelines for it will be different from SCIII and SCIV, and we are still developing on a system. Edited by C.T, Feb 6 2012, 08:00 AM.
