![]() Let's start extra early this time and announce the new and upcoming Soul Calibur V CaS site ahead of time. Tentatively titled "CreatiVe Souls", where the V in creative represents SCV and creative represents the creativity in character creation. This site will focus exclusively on SCV CaS creations and will be promised to be many times larger than the SCIV CaS site "Soul Gateway - Another Stage of History". This thread will be the official thread to document any updates and news regarding CreatiVe Souls, until it is released. Discussions including suggestions for what you would like to see on the site is additionally welcomed here, and will of course will vastly help determine the final outcome of the site. Expected returning features:
Is this going to be serious this time, and not hugely delayed, given up and scant like Soul Gateway - Another Stage of History? You can rest assured all attention and effort will go into CreatiVe Souls. So yes, we are serious this time, and we want CreatiVe Souls to be at least successful or moreso than BWSCIIICG. We are additionally aiming for twice amount of content compared to SG - ASoH for CreatiVe Souls. The major reason SG - ASoH had such a poor and delayed launch date was due to lack of equipment at the time (including console, HD capture device, etc.) and also bad luck concerning purchasing of these. It also didn't help matters that SCIV had a poor and limiting CaS system compared to SCIII. Since the launch date was so severely late, interests of the site began to dramatically sink and thus initiate the lack of content and finally departure. Even though SG - ASoH is back up today with new updates every month, it is still nothing compared to BWSCIIICG in its earlier period (which we are hoping to mimic). What is the expected date of launch of CreatiVe Souls? We are hoping to release it within 2 weeks after SCV's official release, with at least 20 characters. Within a month we are hoping to get around 50 total. How much of the site is finished so far? At the moment only a small percentage of the site excluding any actual character content. Not surprising since we still have a year to go until SCV is released. Is that really going to be the site banner graphic? Most likely not. It is simply a rough draft logo, and will certainly be much better when the actual site is released. Is the submissions system for CreatiVe Souls going to change? It will most likely be the same system used by BWSCIIICG and SG - ASoH. However all submissions for CreatiVe Souls will be counted separately from the other two sites. We are also hoping to increase submissions limit to 15 while giving the same amount of points requirements. Also, the first or several submissions will be free. What will happen to BaneWolf's Soul Calibur III CaS Guide and Soul Gateway - Another Stage of History when CreatiVe Souls it released, will there still be updates for them? Both sites will remain the same, and both sites will continue to be updated at a lower rate, since most of the attention and focus will on CreatiVe Souls. CreatiVe Souls is hiring future helpers. If you are interested in helping CreatiVe Souls in any manner, or even wish to join the team, we are welcomed to have you with us! Even simple tasks such as writing up formulas and checking site for bugs can have a big impact on how fast updates go and improve the quality of the site. We usually will award site helpers and those on the team with more free characters of their own to the site. Depending on how well the site goes, there may be also daily payouts. However understand most help receive will be out of kindness and willingness to help build an amazing site for SCV CaS. Got any comments, suggestions, anything you want added to the site? Please post a reply in this thread! Edited by C.T, Feb 7 2012, 08:51 AM.

I'm so deadbolted to this project My personal issues with this update are:
Move on to my suggestion: Since capturing might span on several people, we need to check for image output for consistency (unless it is not an issue). Currently, after upgrading my TV card's capturing software, the image quality has increased, enabling use of HDMI Full Range, thus resulting in richer color than my previous shots. Since SCIV's character creation wasn't as in-depth as SCIII's, and that hurt the site before, what if SCV's has issues as well? Will that cause any problems with the plans? |

this is assuming that they learn their lesson from SCIV and create an expanded CaS system instead of a simplified one. we'll just have to wait and see. |

This all sounds great! Can't wait to give it a whirl but sadly we all have to! Couple of questions. 1) This form that your working on; is that going to mimic the style of the standard character bios for the past couple of games, with fields for Blood Type, Relatives and so on? 2) I'm curious about the profile page; what's that about? 3) Do we get another 15 slots specifically for SCV or does that figure include SCIV & SCIII Cas? 4) Ignore that last question; I just saw that you've already answered it! 5) I'm possibly interested in helping out but that would depend entirely upon how much time I can devote to the project! I had thought I might be able to handle the fan fictions as I'm not particularly tech-savvy as it were... (you might have noticed) but given the almost complete lack of interest in that aspect of CaS at least on the other two sites this all might be premature. One way forward may be making posting fanfics more "worthwhile" as it were, such as rewarding people with more slots or something. 6) Are you going to be using the AIO system for CreatiVe? If you are that could be a problem for me as my AIO still isn't working... Or do you have another system in mind as CreatiVe will be a different site? That's about all I can think of right now; I'll post again if more ideas or questions come to mind. Hugely excited! With any luck the CaS system will be much better in SCV than it was in SCIV but as Kristof said, we'll just have to wait and see... Until next time. Cheers. |

Way too early lol. I'm super excited and pumped about the site though cause I know I'm going to get SCV and the CaS mode will hopefully be awesome. |

After ignoring this thread for some time, I'll go ahead and answer all the questions thus far:Since the CaS site projects has been solely personal projects with optional aides from helpers, it's not a major issue whether or not I'm the only one working on it or in the lead. I expected you to have some delays on getting SCV and everything ready, so it's absolutely fine that I have to do all the work in the beginning. I had good faith that you will return and help make this project a collaboration project ala BWSCIIICG + SG - ASoH, so that was why I indicated there will be a team instead of just me working on the site. 1080p is bottleneck and unnecessary. I doubt SCV will even offer 1080p. The screenshots and videos will be in 720p. I never say anywhere in the post about 1080p. Of course that's to be expected, we can discuss this later onwards in Site Associates Zone. Hopefully not. As far as I can tell most of problems existed due to lateness coupled with fading interests. The only reason I brought SCIV's CaS system up was because it was particularly difficult creating cameos. For SCV if the CaS system remains pale, more originals will be created to counter the problem. Consider it a well lesson learnt. I will answer Wolfman's questions on the next post shortly. The biography/story section will remain the same, simply a giant textbox to put whatever you feel like putting. With that being said, no there won't be fields for blood type, relatives, etc; as these are optional bits because a lot of authors don't want to put all this extra information in. I pretty much explained it in first post. It will be a individual page for every author that presents all their characters currently on the site, along with a commenting and rating area. If you're still confused, you can think of it as your masterlist, but part of the site with only characters on the site + more features. Also if you used something like YouTube, think of it as your YouTube channel. There are no fan fictions section on the site planned, unless you meant biography/story. Doesn't mean that it's not a possibility however. The most requested aides are basically tasks such as posting submissions lists, rewriting formulas, bug checking, graphic design, files uploaders, etc. If you're interested in doing any of these, then you're welcomed to the team. We tested other systems and it seems AIO is the only viable option for now. So yes AIO will remain, however the emphasis on making it easier for newbies to use will be much improved in the upcoming. Got anything else to say? Post them! And thank you for all the feedback thus far. Here's hoping this project will be the best out of the three.

If there's a special edition version, and it's not too gawd-awful expensive, I am so getting that one. If not, I'll settle for the normal version. |

Another Stage of History

CaS sharing is definately the best feature so faar as it allows most people to display their CaS on Faceook, and additionally get more and more people to Soul Gateway! ![]() BTW C.T, I hope you come out with some way to make costumes more visible. Perhaps a character's avatar followed by their costume. |

I admit this new site for SCV is looking pretty darn good, based on the features anyways. I'll definitely be submitting some characters to the site in the future!

Or do you have another system in mind as CreatiVe will be a different site?
