Now that we are nearing Broken Destiny's release date, and I'm opting to get my hands on the game by the end of the October, what do you think we should do concerning hauling up a Broken Destiny related CaS site/content?

A: Make an entirely new site dedicated to Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny CaS only:
There will be an entirely new site separate from both BaneWolf's Soul Calibur III CaS guide and Soul Gateway - Another Stage of History that deals exclusively with Broken Destiny CaS. The same or less amount of features will be included on the site, including high res screenshots and user ratings/commenting. The new site will be slightly or vastly different in design compared to ASoH.

B: Merge Soul Calibur IV and Broken Destiny on the same, current site:
Soul Gateway - Another Stage of History will be modified (in some way or another I'm still unsure of) to additionally include Broken Destiny CaS content. Everything else about the site will be kept the same.

C: Ditch Broken Destiny entirely:
There will be no Broken Destiny site/content. This may be a valuable option if there are not enough interests in the game or its CaS from the public.

Option A will obviously consume a lot more time, and since CaS content from SCIV and BD are nearly identical, it may not make much sense to create two different CaS sites where one character can be fully or closely made on another.

Option B will consume less time, but can be more confusing to find the appropriate CaS for said game. If implemented I need to find a way to appropriately merge the two games' content. If you suggest B, please try to give some (specific if you can) suggestions of accomplishing that.

Option C is to forget about Broken Destiny entirely. This will allow more time and focus on the Soul Calibur IV CaS site.

What about the forums?

Dependent on what choice gets chosen, either separate forums (presentations, submissions) will be created exclusively for Broken Destiny; or Broken Destiny will be merged with the Soul Calibur IV forums.

Note: If there are not enough votes or suggestions in this thread, I may consider not creating a Broken Destiny CaS site/content since it suggests me to there aren't enough interests in it to bother.

i would say just incorporate BD in with SCIV, since they are practically the same, maybe at the least a separate presentation forum.

I'll go with Kristof...but to emphasize more on the point, a separate sub-section
should be added to the SCIV page that is exclusively to BD. :)

I won't go for "Ditching it entirely", because there might be users that may never
or probably take too long on getting a current-Gen system but they do have a
PSP to play the current-Gen "SoulCalibur" and may want to talk about it or/and
find content on the site about it. I wouldn't want to leave out any users out,
especially when the game contains CaS features and after all this is a CaS
forum community.

I voted for merging the two sites, since you said that the two games have similar CaS system and content. Maybe make two different sections on the site, one for Soul Calibur IV and one for Broken Destiny.

Just my 2 cents. :cassandra:

No to C obviously. For the choices, I guess I would prefer it go either way but I voted for the merge, as in the end it makes all the content in place instead of having it in two separate places. Plus I think the current SCIV site really needs more content anyhow.

Merge, no reason to make a separate site for BD with what little is already on the SCIV site atm

I personally prefer the creation of a new site just for Broken Destiny. That site would all I ever will be visiting probably. :D

Merge content, definitely.

Merge it, much less work in the long run. Maybe create some sort of sub column list on the Soul Calibur 4 site called Broken Destiny and do the listing similar to that already shown.

I guess with the amount of votes thus far it's safe to say SCIV and BD content will merged into the current SCIV CaS site.

I was thinking of doing just a mini website for BD, but I guess we are going to be needing more content for the SCIV CaS site in order to keep it alive and healthy.

Thanks everyone for voting and giving your suggestions. :)

If there are more votes coming, feel free to make them.

well, why not merge them? I mean, BD is technicall SCIV in a PSP format, so why bother making a new site entirely? When I first heard of the game, I though "great, now I got to get either a 360 or a PSP, WHAT'S NEXT!?", but I have had time to think on it, and it seems like a great alternative to people who can't afford a 360 or PS3 at this time. In any case, though, merging the site would be best, seeing as how the games are the same. Ditching it entirely is completely out of the question! :nightmare2:

Broken Destiny is only available for the PSP.

The Arcade version of the 360 is only $30 more than a PSP. Choosing PSP over the 360 would be mostly for the portability and the exclusive games.

I know its only for PSP, I am just saying that if I want SCIV, I have to choose between getting the 360 version so I can actually SEE what I am putting on my characters, or get a PSP and play BD. All I am saying, is that it's a pain in the ass for me to choose between being portable, or actually seeing what the hell I am doing.

That totally doesn't make any sense.

Why can you not "see" if you're playing on the PSP instead of the 360? They both have visuals or else they won't be games. Huh?
