Hey everyone, I know there is a huge thread about this on Gamefaqs, but I wanted to check here. I was just wondering if any other users on here have the experienced the file corruption in SC3. I myself have had to start over 2 or 3 times because of it. I know that one of the times it was because I deleted memory on my card, but another time I have no idea why it happened. I turned on SC3, and then got a message that my data was corrupted. And I lost everthing. I was NOT happy. *sigh* Anyone else have any expereince with this? |

I'm prettier than you.

I haven't deleted anything on my memory card since making the SCIII file, and the memory card I'm using is fairly new. I heard something over on the Gamespot forums about older memory cards being more likely to corrupt the data than newer ones. I think it mentioned the serial number on the card in determining whether yours was "old" or "new". |

What size are you guys' Soul Calibur III Data files out of curiosity? I experienced the data corruption 2 times when deleting things off my memory card, but at the time, my SC III File was 300 KB. Now, my SC III File for whatever reason is only 298 KB. I can delete anything I want now without fear of Data Corruption. |

It has never happened to me, and I have moved files in the memory card... I think in the PAL version it's less frequent. |

It happened to me once, on the Cots mode. Luckily, my parents got me a memory card for christmas and I was able to restart. Here's what the person on Gamefas said to do, and what I did. "1) Start a new Cots game, make a new character etc. 2) At the first prompt to save, try to. 3) You will be told that the file is corrupt and may be harming the entire SC3 data, click off the message. 4) Swap the memory card with another one and save the game onto this card, the new data will not be corrupt, however, on the corrupt memory card the data is still damaged. 5) After doing the save turn off the game and enter the browser. 6) I highly recommend you delete the original file (the corrupt one) because as of all games damaged files can mess up any others on the memory card. 7) Go to the other memory card (the one with the new/safe data) and COPY IT TO BE SAFE. The best thing to do is copy it onto the other memory card so then you have two safe files so if the corruption happens again you will have a backup." |

I have never experienced it, sc3 is the only game I play so *doesn't touch other files on memory card* I would be sad if my data got deleted, I have EVERYTHING unlocked(weapons, items, cas stuff, event, beaten night terror with all characters, and so on) |

Yeah. After you unlock everything, there's no need to worry about cots corruption. However, there have been reports of worse cases of corruption, where the ENTIRE memory card has gotten corrupted. So, all in all, while SC3 is a great game, its very sensitive. It has to be the first game on a memory card (the first memory block used) or else u're going up corruption creek without a paddle. (OMFG, that was corny.) |
