Hi mate & welcome to the forum .

The adjuster screw is definately there , it's about the size of a 1p , you need a long flathead screwdriver , and approach low from the drivers side wing !

you need to turn it about 1 complete turn for every 50 revs or so .

Let us know how you get on .

If your idle speed is too high, I had this problem on my 1.8

On the throttle linkage on the passenger (UK) side of the engine, there's a microswitch that is activated by the closed throttle - this puts the engine, electronically, into idle mode

My switch wasn't being switched - an adjustment of the accelerator cable to give a smidgen of free play between the cable end and linkage (easy job) cured the problem

All in the book .....

had another look yesterday and found a few things.

The return spring for i think is the throttle body (under the injection unit) was broken so i replaced it. Engine runs a bit better but still wont idle below 1000 rpm runs lumpy but revs up clean. Changed the fuel filter still the same. Had alook at the idle control valve which is mounted in a rubber carrier between 3 and 4 inlet runners and found a few split hoses one goes from under the plenum to the idle control valve and the other goes from the idle control valve to which looks like into the manifold via a T piece and then onto the rocker cover and air filter. How do i check the operation of this unit and what way round should it be? there is an arrow on it should this be pointing up or down?

Will add one thing when i put the car into drive or any other gear for that matter (Auto) the revs will go down to 800 rpm and the engine is stable and feels ok but in 'N' or 'P' the engine wont idle below 1000 without being lumpy or trying to stall.

just found out that there is some kind of relay that lives behind the batt with a 10 amp fuse in it and this controls the idle. anyone know this?

That's the OVP(Over Voltage Protection) relay. It protects the ECU's(engine, ABS etc) from damage from power spikes and surges.

Id fix the split pipes on the ICV as these will cause high idle and lumpy running.

I tried to get you the diagram from the Russian parts site but the picture wouldn't load as my PC connection is playing up!! But if you go to the general tech part of the site and click on the russian parts site link you should be able to find the pic you need. LINK
