Hi there fellow 190 aficionado s, I have previously posted on the engine section regarding my sticking throttle on my 190E 2.0. I was lucky enough to find a very local Merc specialist who has done a fantastic job. By replacing the return spring with a beefier spring the problem is now cured. It has also meant that there is much more reistance on the accelerator pedal. Something that I have always wished for. Anyway, I asked him to give the 190 a thorough check over and he has given me a thankfully short list of parts I should replace. These are:- Rear brake pads Plastic radiator cowling Engine mounts I would also like to replace the injectors and have now purchased some from ebay. What I would like assistance with, is part numbers for the injector seals/guides etc. I also need some advice in relation to the radiator cowling. Is it different to the standard one as mine has A/C? Part No's? I would like to give the engine mounts a go. Do I need any special tools? Is it a difficult job? Again, Part No's? Thanks as always for any assistance. Best regards Gary |

Thanks very much for that Charl44, That is a very useful link to have. Very interesting. According to that, the only seals I need for the injectors are 1160780873 (Guide). I thought there were more than that, but it apears not! With regards to the cowling there are two part numbers so there must be two different ones. Any idea's which I need? the options are:- 2015051155 (Fan Shroud) or 2015052955 (Fan Shroud) The engine mounts seem to be part no. 2012404017 or 1242401717. I gues I only need two. Any more assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Gary |

Have you looked into the valve guides ? I think its quite a tough job if you leave the head on. You need to hold the valves up so they dont drop into the cylinder. You can do it by filling the cylinders with nylon cord through the spark plug hole (not too keen on this method myself), by using compressed air to push them up, or a special (probably expensive) tool. Or of course take the head off. I only looked into it on the diesel, it may not be the same on the petrol but do check before ordering them. I decided not to do the job in the end and just use slightly thicker oil. No more smoke

Hi there Kentronix, Thanks for your reply. I am a little confused though! I wasn't intending to touch the valve guides. Just the engine mounts, injectors and radiator fan shoud. Am I missing something? Thanks very much. Gary |

The fan shroud is cheap, so I`m assuming you will go to the dealer for it, give them your VIN number and they will give you the correct one Both fan shrouds: http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&sku=a2015051155&Search=Go&page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&option=com_virtuemart http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&sku=a2015052955+&Search=Go&page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&option=com_virtuemart Engine mounts: Only this part number seems to be available, but you could double check with the dealer. these are more expensive so it may be possible to get the correct part from GSF or Eurocarparts http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&sku=a1242401717&Search=Go&page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&option=com_virtuemart Ian |

Injectors are just 2 parts , now you have the injector , go to the dealer and get the seal , they are pennies . Jeremy |

Thanks for the further advise guys, I will definately be ordering the parts from my local dealer. Because my car has dealer fitted A/C the chassis number causes problems when ordering parts. I have had to re-order several parts because different parts are substituted when the A/C is fitted. They do not give refunds on non-stock parts either. Shame there are no pictures of the shrouds. Thanks fo the tip. I'l take a look at ECP & GSF for the engine mounts. Thanks Gary |

Well, after looking through this site at all the engine mount threads I am even more confused It appears that there are different mounts for cars fitted with A/C. However I cannot seem to find where the part numbers for the ones for cars with A/C. If I give my chassis number to the dealer they will supply me with the ones for non A/C cars (A/C was dealer fitted). The risk of getting these and the radiator shroud wrong is too much. I was going to order them first thing tomorrow but I will have to investigate further. Any more help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gary |

Really? I have never heard that one before. Why would that be? It seems there are indeed two listed, one for cars with AC. But curiously, it has exactly the same part number and price GSF LINK Edited by stwat, Fri Nov 6, 2009 11:13 pm.

I went to the dealer today. There are 3 different radiator shrouds and 5 different engine mounts. They both depend on the age of the vehicle and whether A/C is fitted. Just to confuse it further where A/C was fitted by the supplying dealer there were a number of different kits. Some meant using a different radiator, some different engine mounts, some had different hose configuration. It therefore depends how far the original kit went in terms of replacement parts. I can see this being an expensive nightmare On that basis I have ordered what seemed the most likely radiator shroud (as it's not too expensive) and held fire on the engine mounts. Does anyone else have any experience of this problem? I'd like to get these done sooner rather than later. Thanks Gary |

Piccked-up my shroud today. Unfortunately it does not fit so thats a waste of £15.00 If anyone is interested you can have it for £7.50. Part No. 201 505 11 55 Looking at the new shroud I have found where the part number is on my original. It took some torch work but it is 201 505 08 55. Nobody seems to list this part. Does anyone have any knowledge of where I may get one? Thanks Gary Edit: I have now found one on the parts direct site

If you got the shroud from MB with the VIN number, take it back and exchange it for a new one. Ian Edited by charl44, Sat Nov 14, 2009 12:07 am.

Hi there Charl44, Thanks for your reply. When I ordered the shroud I had to order a different one to the one listed under my chassis number. This is because the car had Air Con fitted by the supplying dealer rather than the factory. They explained that because the shroud is a non-stock item, if it was incorrect I would not be able to return it. I ordered the one for later models fitted with A/C but is does not fit Thanks again for your help. Best regards Gary |
