Which uses more fuel? 1.8 or the 2.0? I’ve got it into my head that the 1.8 uses more fuel as it has to work harder than the 2.0. Can someone shine some light on this please? Ta |

haha sounds better. speaking of exhaust notes.. does removing one of the centre box's give a good one? or is that just being cheap. |

I think it will depend on your driving style too. If you like riding the torque then a 2.0 might be more frugal as it has more lower down, where as a 1.8 you'd have to rev more to be going as quick. But then there's 200ml less petrol being burnt per rev in a 1.8.... |

Andy (aemt) would you say the performance difference is quite noticeable from 1.8 - 2.0litre? |

I found the 1.8 more revvy and quicker to respond, even though it was also auto. ideal around town. Also although it had standard springs it had sports shock so you could throw it around a bit in traffic which made it an ideal daily and town car. The 2.0 which I have now put sportline shocks/springs/bushes on now handles almost as well around town but is a better car on middle/long distance journeys. of the two I would always go for the 2.0 and preferably sportline or change the springs and shocks so you get more stability in turning. Best of all worlds. I would go for a 2.6 if I was doing predominently longer journeys but 2.0 would be my personal choice Edited by aemt, Wed Nov 4, 2009 6:26 pm.
