Hi there, looking to buy some new 17" alloys for my 190e. Its a 2.6 and has already been lowered 40mm. All the alloys i'v ebeen looking at seem to come with 225/45/17 tyres. Will these fit without major rubbing?

If they will rub, is it easy to work the arches?

Thanks, Tom.

Mine rubbed on the front like a bitch sound like they were catching the inner arch lip on the rear aswell, ending up ripping the arch lining out while driving down the motorway one night.. Only left mine on a day before i went gagrage and got a set of 215/40's put on.

Sold the old tyres on ebay.

My old one with 45's

I had 215/45 on 17's and they rubbed on the front wing - at the bottom of the wheel arch near the bumper and the rears rubbed on the mudflap and its fixing.

Most members with 17's seem to advise 215/40 as the better tyre size for 17's.
