Hi guys, Im wondering how to get the 16v gauges opened up so I can change the needles from yellow to orange from my spare cluster. I saw a pic on here once and someone had painted the needles. How do I get in there, there are 2 screws on the back but undoing them dosent do much. Thanks Daniel |

Where the metal bezel (glass retainer) fits to the front of the gauge you will see that it has been bent over behind the plastic flange to retain it in place. You need to very carefully prise this open, with a suitable flat head screwdriver, until the bezel turns and allows the location flaps on the bezel to line up with the gaps in the flange. It should just pull off at this point although I have had a couple of them that need a little careful prying. |

ahh similar to the lap timer, I was more interested in opening that so I didnt really have a shot at the others. What size are the needles? Can I use one of the orange needles from my instrument cluster? |

Be carful if you do it, you can run the risk of them fogging up once you've taken them apart. Replacment gauges aint to bad from MB. |

The reason I want to get them open is I want the needles to be orange to match my instrument cluster. Is there a needle in the instrument cluster that will fit the gauges to save me painting them? thanks |
