Member Posts: 4,476 Group: Members Member #10 Joined: November 6, 2005	help!!! i need to fit a sunroof motor very quickly as the roof is jammed open! has anyone changed one ? and how do you change them? i have looked at the motor and pulled out the white turn wheel but nothing happened when i turned it except the motor started working again but sounded like it wasn't engagine the cable any ideas? anyone?

Member Posts: 518 Group: Members Member #1,732 Joined: September 26, 2007	As a temporary fix, put the motor back in, tighten the small bolts that secure it then put on a socket on the big white/grey nut and you can wind the roof shut by hand. Sunroofs are a complete pain when they give problems!

Member Posts: 518 Group: Members Member #1,732 Joined: September 26, 2007	The sunroof motor has a 124 part number, so I can't imagine they'd be any different. If the ebay one doesn't pan out, I have a spare, tested & working sunroof motor from a 190.

Admin Posts: 16,358 Group: Admin Member #147 Joined: January 20, 2006	I think the plastic bit is just for setting the cable point relative to the cog. When my closed wasnt actually fully closed I had to pull the plastic cog, twist and drop it back in until it was perfect. This was on my w124 so may not be exactly the same. The metal nut was used to manually close and open after my controller went scitzo !! The 124 comes with a tool for this buut I dont think the 201 does.
