Welcome Karlos, £850 sounds good for 70,000miles & FSH!!! :)

What colour & spec (alloys etc) is it?

Cheers mate! Not sure about the spec, it's got electris mirrors, windows and sunroof I think. It's White and has 16" alloys (2 sets with brand new tyres) so might polish a set up and pop some lower profiles on. It's totaly standard at the mo but I have a few ideas in mind ;-)

I'm told drilling the bumpers is a must coz of the weight. I think til I kno what I'm doing il just be cutting the springs so I'm not in the clouds, til I sort what I want to do.

I must say, what a friendly forum!! I'm impressed! :-)

Hello and welcome :) ]

What will you be drilling the bumpers for?

Not sure the bumpers are that heavy on the 190 are they ?
If your going large on the alloys and getting slimmer tyres then you will probably add more weight than drilling the bumpers will remove.

Dont be afraid to ask, there is a lot of knowledge around these parts.

Sounds like a good price for the milage.

I can only imagine he means the bumper reinforcing beams to save a few grammes, having been dependent on those beams before i'd rather leave them heavy and have a dump before every journey :)

Yehh I wondred about it, I can't see it saving much.
Il probably stick with 16"s wheels wise maybe get some wide shiny dishes.

How do you recon it will be mpg wise? About 30? I do quite alot of miles. But luckily lift share so it's only every 3rd weeks. About 120 miles a day when it's my turn to drive.

Thats a very tidy looking car.

Low mileage and FSH are a nice combination to have. £850 is a fair price.

cheers fella. went and had a look today and its spot on. even better than in the pics.

only downfall was a small amount of moisture on/arround what i think was the power steering pump. and the gear change was abit notchy, possibly linkage bushes??

what a massive air filter!!
are they all belt driven cooling fans? or can you convert to thermostatic electric ones? i prefer the sound of engine to fan.. haha

You can add an electric fan, I am part way through doing mine although I have been for well over a year !!! Its not particularly hard, I am just lazy.

The MB one is thermostatic, either electromagnetic clutch or a viscous coupling. They will spin relatively freely without force and then kick it proper when the engine gets hot. Keep your fingers well away when that happens :)

Keep an eye on your power steering fluid level, you may find you have a leak in one of the hoses near the pump. Its not hugely expensive. Mine was leaking at the nut, nipped it up and it was fine. It can also leak if its overfilled.

Ahh cool, is it a worthwhile mod?? I noticed it got warm ( about 90?) when sat still for a while. I also noticed the tiny radiator, will the fan be on most of the time anyway??

90's a good number, most cars run at 90 degrees give or take, its just displayed as 'half' on a modern gauge. the radiator is plenty big enough too.

Electric fan is a good mod, but the factory fan should never kick in during normal driving anyway. only at rest when there is no airflow so some say its a waste of money, unless you tow a trailer/boat/caravan.

Yehh good point. I spose if it isn't broken don't fix it.

Does anyone kno if the lowering springs for the 16 valvers are diffrent to the ones for the 1.8 I can only find springs for the 2.3 up..
