In the current (Nov '09) Classic Cars mag, he's prattling on about car values: Quote: To me, the market feels like it's overheating - we may have reached a peak ... (various examples of Ferraris, Jags, etc mentioned) ... The ordinary stuff is getting scary too: ... Ł11k for a Ford Cortina 1600E ... Mercedes 190E Cosworths for Ł18k ... Call me old-fashioned, but these are unsustainable prices that are being distorted by a market that thinks the boom days are back. Trouble is, I don't think they are. The next six months are going to prove just how robust the global old car market really is. I think it might be time to be careful out there. Edited by manalishi, Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:36 am.

Word is he had a barnful of Daimler SP250s and has been trying to talk them up for years. It always occurs to me that he'd be all the better for a good wash. He may be right, of course, but if he is it'll be a matter of luck rather than judgement...

I take a lot of the comments made with a pinch of salt. I've read many conflicting comments over the years in the very same magazine - makes one wonder. Member Posts: 517 Group: Members Member #1,732 Joined: September 26, 2007	I think he has a fair point. Ł18k for a Cosworth does seem a tad optimistic to me. Anyone on here who got anywhere near that for their Cosworth (EVOs excluded) would be laughing all the way to the bank. Like him or hate him, it was his recommendation of the 190 as a great, good value, bombproof, quality car that made me look at them in a new light 10 years ago, so I have him to thank for that.
