Hi everyone just treated the 190d to a full exhaust system nothing special as test is coming up. After gettin it up on ramps found the backbox and silencer where too long causing the exhaust to strike on the under carrige. after takin the system off and the installer tryin a 2.0 diesel for size if was found to be also too long at the silencer and backbox. After tryin a 2.5 diesel exhaust it was simpy too long. a 2.5 turbo diesel exhaust was the most snug fit though a silencer from a 2.0 had to grafted into it. To remedy completely the installer has sent proper measurements away to his production company for them to create a silencer that will be snug and the correct length. Does anyone know why this would be the case. He even believed at one stage that the car was petrol .

you may want to check your VIN at the russian site and see what it says about your car.... any chance of non-original downpipes? |

a previous exhaust fitter could have fitted the wrong parts and now your fitter is struggling with the correct parts seen it done before if they only have bits from a similar model on the shelf the will "adapt" them to fit
