Ok I've got to try and sort out some marks on the missus car (i know its not a merc but I'm sure any advice here will help other members too)
First off there are what looks like bird dropping shapes where the paint has cracked and looks rough any clues on how to sort.
Secondly there are some deep scratches that i thought would t-cut out but are deeper than I had thought, they are in the bumper where it hit something.
I don't really want to end up respraying so any tips or ideas as to what needs to be done to sort it. Ive tried using some autoglem paint restorer but it didn't make much difference.

Well I understand it's a Fiat so point one is that there is probably not much paint on it in the first place. Point two is that it is amazing what will polish out with a decent cutting compound, for which I could recommend Farecla G3 and, if that works, G10. Do not, under any circs, bother with T-Cut. Try to beg, steal or borrow a rotary mop.

Bird crap is highly damaging to paint (big ammonia content) but if you are lucky it will only have etched the very outer surface - the lacquer, which is easy to replace.

Good luck - a couple of pics might be useful - we all have 20 year old cars...

At the Meguiars demo day I attended they had some product/process for removing bird poo type stains. I think it was the 'paint cleaner' stuff. Their website would probably say.

T cut has more ammonia than bird poo!

Meguiars scratch X, or Stage 1 paint cleaner followed by a polish and a wax.

....other products may be available.

i used to get stuff like that all the time in oz cos i was frequently away and my parents left my car outside and the birds had a field day on it.

absolute best stuff i ever found was this thing called FW1, its bloody miracle spray. it seems to do bloody everything. I was sooo sceptical about it but its impressive stuff. gets rid of light marks really well and gets same shine as a decent wax with WAY less effort.

http://www.fw1shine.com/

dunno if its available in the uk though
