My gear box wont change gear!!! reverse is fine but in drive 2 or 3 doesnt change, just traveld 17 miles at 30mph please for the love of GOD someone help me, do i need a new gear box or what? |

Have you checked your gearbox fluid level ? Its the red cap on top of the tube in the engine bay, offside and towards the read of the engine bay, just by the exhaust manifold. I think you flip the red bit and then you can pull it out and check the level. Unlike the engine oil you do it with the car on level ground, running, just idling but after having sat without revving it for 30 seconds (I think). Thats would be the first thing I would check. After that its a bit beyond me, I dont understand the autobox that well. |

Just been told the box is gone, GUTTED! car ive always wanted and now its goosed, rebuild is what it will need but thanks for advice may just sell her now, shame coz she's MINT GGRRRRR |

Dont lose heart P3DRO , transmissions are plentiful and not expensive , I sold one earlier this year for £150 and its only a couple of hours work to flip them . Jeremy |

Did it go with a bang or just stopped? It could be the selector bush perhaps unless there were bits in the sump? |
