Lovely car , well done .

Whats wrong with the gearbox ? are you sure its not just the linkages , these can get very loose . The getrags themselves are virtually bombproof .
Also if your clutch is worn , then selection can be a problem .

Well, thank you! obrigado! :D

About the history, this car was original German, exported to Portugal in 1996,
he circulated until 2007, then he was putted on sale, 2 years stoped...

in 2007 i was there to see it, the saler wanted too much money... (i always said, that car would be mine!)
one year later the car changed to another sale place, i though i lost it,
but with some luck i found were it was, not far, in August i wented there to make another offer.. and here he is..
two years dreaming, now its true! =)

he counts 160.000 km, 36000 milles, witch i belive because of the seats, they are too good.

The Gearbox, is not a real problem, i wanst especific, first gear is hard to enter some times, and generaly it doesnt feell that smooth, i gues with a special valvoline the problem will be solved :)

i can put here the vin stats if someone is interested.

my best regards

The UK has always been a very important market for M-B ,
traditionally it has been it's number 2 market in Europe .

Albufeira is a real nice place, all Algarve coast is.. good vacaccions!
I live in the center of Portugal, coast side near Leiria, it is a bit far from Algarve.

Well thanks Jeremy, ill give a feedback of the tip :)

By the way, iv cleaned the fuel injectors, feels sharper now, but still have a long way to go.

whats the consequences of a missing dash? perfection? :)

2.5 16V as the engine type
and 2.5-16 as car model, right?

is here any 2.5-16 turbo project?

how many EVOīs are there in UK? more or less..

of my knowlege there are 2 EVO1īs and 1 EVO2 in Portugal, one owner haves both.. Crazy lucky man =)

OK , the model name & engine size is 2.5-16 .

Member Zoomer46 has a 2.5-16V Mosselmann Turbo , and there are one or two others in the UK , BHP is 235-250 .
Member Matsalleh has a Rotrex turbo'd 2.3-16V

There are possibly 12 or so , Evo I / II in the UK .

There are some turbo build projects in Germany by a company called ATEC , using Rotrex units .

Thanks again! ;)

About pulling-up the gear stick to put the first gear easyer doesnīt seem to work,
i think i wanst especific, i have dificulties when reducing shifts, when arriving to a "stop" sine at low speeds, etc,
The first gear enters nice just when the car is fully stoped.

Anyway, im loving the car, pretty much well constructed, materials are great, simple-good engineering at all levels.

Soon ill get my hands dirt on him :) cant wait

Since you are having problems , you can get a new (gearstick ) shifter kit , and also new bushings , It is very unusual that the gearbox will be at fault since they are rated at over 400 bhp .
