I use it on the fisher fury race car. The good thing is that they are lightweight. Braking force is good, but bleeding them is a nightmare. tiny nipples ( 2 per caliper) But consider the cost of pads that you will need. and what materials are available and suitable for you before going to such an expensive modification. |

Good thing is that there are probably a wide range of compunds available, as opposed to the popular Brembo alloy E500 brake upgrade. Willwood are still pretty cheap, especially compared to AP, Brembo, Mov-it etc. But still way better then all these Chinese made callipers that have appeared on the market in recent years. You probably already know this, but you will most certainly have to fabricate some sort of adapters If you have no intentions for anything else then road use, stick with something from the Mercedes range. Some "race callipers" like Willdwood lack dust seals and are not recommended for daily use. Edited by JM Motorsport, Mon Sep 14, 2009 2:33 pm.

my old set up - certainly improved when it was warm. pads were around £70 a set, disks were about £250 a pair - vastly superior to the stock set up. had a few bleed nipple issues myself, they are very small! |

OMG Stunning! did you use adaptor plates for mounting the calipers? also do you know the dimensions for the disks etc. What setup were you using on the back? |

the disks are ultralites - 2 piece. calipers used a mouting bracket that fixed to the orignal and gave new mounting points for the calipers. at the rear i uses blackstuff disks and pads.... |

What about the feel Steve- improved or same? I find the 16v brakes a bit short on sharpness and feel (even after I had brand new Mercedes discs and pads all round, plus a fluid change) - they work okay but aren't superb and the pedal moves a bit more than I'd like under harder braking. If you drive other cars they seem to lack initial bite quite badly. |

I have the same feel on cosworth brakes, but my system has the 1.8 master cylinder. I believe that bite may come if the master cylinder is changed with a bigger one (bigger than cosworth or EVO), but it will probably need more force on the pedal. Another thought I had about gaining some bite on front brakes was to sleeve the front calipers' pins to reduce flexibility between carrier and caliper body. |
