You must be a little bit more specific, which radio have you got in at the moment ? As you will probably need special keys to get it out, normally it will have either two little holes each side or if it's an original MB radio it will have a little 'slit' each side in which case you will need the MB radio removal keys. |

I don't know that model but have a good close look at it to verify whether it has two small holes each side or one small slit each side bottom left and right. |

Post a photo of the stereo with the face removed and we can tell you what tools you'll need Unless you have a good set of removal tools the best option is to swing by your local car hifi shop when they're quiet (ie, not Saturday morning) and ask them to remove it for you Nick Froome |

Hi Thanks all, today I got success in removing the old Backer stereo system. I installed a new Kenwood stuff. Here are some of the general steps need to follow : 1). Lift chrome ashtray from ashtray mount. 2). Remove 2 phillip screws from the ashtray mount and carefully remove mounting from dashboard. 3). Carefully apply downwards pressure upon metal spring tabs that are located on the upper edge of the opening that latch into bottom edge of radio frame. 4). With spring tabs released, reach into ashtray opening and apply forward force to back of radio to slide radio out of opening. After this follow the following circuit diagram shown on the following website: http://www.beckerautosound.com/754/754%20back%20panel%20connections%20altered.JPG ![]() Later on you will find only 4 wires attached to this stereo but your new stereo has lot of wires. In your new stereo Try to sort out the battery wire which is red + ( commonly ), connect it to the pin 4 of the old stereo. Refer to the picture listed on the website. Later on the black wire should be connect to the pin 1 and if there is one more yellow or any other wire in ur new stereo connect it to the pin 2 . Hence we left the 3rd pin. Leave it open. Then plug in the antenna wire into your new stereo. your new stereo will have 4 pairs of wires for rear and front speakers. But you will notice in old stereo there were only 2 pair of wires. No need to panic.!!! Try to connect the -ve wire to the -ve end of the speakers wire and +ve to +ve end. The black wire is always the +ve end in your old stereo and the wire with a black and (other) colour strip is always -ve. Same is in your new stereo just connect them properly. Then push the new stereo back and screw everything back in its place. You are all set to rock the car. I have kept the old becker system ....may be it will become antique someday.
