I would say that the best possible upgrade for that would 2.6ltr Calipers, EBC TGD Discs and Green Stuff pads. Red's don't work so well, and it's a brilliant setup. You won't be found wanting.

I'm not so sure on the Greenstuff pads. In my opinion, go for some Ferodos. |

He might do, but in my experience they have much better initial bite than normal pads, but fade pretty quickly. Maybe Jeremy is just a slow driver? ![]() |

hi guys, thans for that, so the 2.6 calipers will fit the same mounting as 1800, and discs will fit, no mods needed just bolt on, is this right mark |

depending what you will be using your car for, but for track days i would go for a Ferodo DS2500 or DS3000, or preferably Carbotech XP10 or Pagid RS29 pads. For road use just stick with OEM replacments. |

Hi have a good read at the various "brake upgrade" threads...you will find all the info and advice and other members upgrades there. 2.6 calipers and discs will bolt straight on. you might want to look at 2.3/2.5-16v set ups or 4 pot calipers from some w124 models (E300-24v, E400) these have front discs 295mm x 22mm (e300-24v) and 295mm x 25mm (e400). picture of pot caliper from E300-24v on a 190e 3.2AMG ![]() Shot with E2500 at 2009-07-16 Mazza |

I am at Castle Combe in 2 weeks time , do you want to passanger for some lappery in my 2.5-16V ??? There is some film on here of my driving at Hockenheim in July , if you look at the speedo when I brake you can see full braking time after time , with NO fade at all ...... I use Greenstuff pads + Dot5.1 , but yellow would be as good , if not better . Redstuff take too long to heat up on the road , so not so good for day-to-day driving . Mazza's good ( as always ) advice about using W124 300-24V discs is well worth following . Jeremy

That set up should be ok , dont overdo it tho' , you dont want to overbrake your car , and find yourself locking up every time you press the stop pedal . BTW , greenstuff pads take a few miles before they grip at all , be carefull for the first 5-10 applications , leave plenty of room in front ! What I do is to left foot brake while I am accelerating , gently of course , just to get them to bed in a bit . Jeremy

Don't overdo it. there are instructions for brake bedding process. Just follow manufacturers recommendations. I did bed mine which are normal pads and Brembo discs within a week. Initially 20 miles on motorway and back by keeping constant speed of 60-70 and left foot brake very very gently for some seconds then release for about a minute. Then normal driving about 10 miles in town, and one more quick bleeding. Then go for a test drive , apply your brakes as hard as you can , park, and go out to check your tyres for scratches. and
