I have asked this question before but never really got anywhere so il give it another go Both the ASD function and warning triangle lamps light up when ignition is turned on and both go out again when the engine is started. The problem is, the warning triangle lamp never lights up/flashes when i lose traction. It has never done so. The diff is certainly working though. Can anyone give me any pointers as to why it doesnt flash when i lose traction? The pinned thread at the top is only for if the lights dont ever go out, so that doesnt count in my case. Help! Cheers, Stu Edited by stwat, Fri Jul 31, 2009 7:42 pm.

broken signal wire between the diff and the rest of the car, faulty asd sensor.................sensors can go 2 ways, first, show a fault all the time.............or never show a fault. the light coming on when you put the ignition on,is a system/bulb test..............if the system doesnt detect a fault it goes off..................can these sensors be taken out and cleaned ? |

Thanks for the replay Whereabouts is the sensor?? The only sensor i can see on the diff is the ABS sensor. It has the pipe going in for the ASD too. But no other electrical wiring! I do now have a multimeter but i just need to know what and where to test etc. I can't seem to find any info either. I have an E manual but it only covers the US cars with LSD. Bugger. |

stu i've been studying the diagrams on the russain website ASD diagram and as far as i can figure out,the sensor on the diff is a dual one.................its for the ASD and ABS,so i would hazard a guess it has mor ethan 2 wires........maybe 3 or 4.......................it will only take either a bad connection or 1 broken wire for the ASD not to work properly |

The wiring from the ASD warning light had been cut, and the bu;b holder had then been wired to the ABS lamp so that they would light up and go out together!! I re wired the ASD lamp which obviously then stayed on permanently, tested the system via the diagnostic port and came up with 8 flashes. '8, magnetic switch or brake light switch broken'. And as the brake lights are working, i'm guessing its the diff sensor!! Oh joy. |
