Hi,

I have a LSD from a 202 C Class.
Its a 3.07 from a 97 C36.

Does anybody know for sure if
the Crown Wheel and Pinion are
interchangable with the 190's-201 series
please ?

The 1.8 petrol and 2.5D 190 runs a 3.64 CW/p as does
the 1.8 C Class auto, but looking at the
diff bolt pattern internals, it looks as if the 190 series
will fit also, as well as the 124 series.

Can anybody please confirm ?

Many thanks,

The Gorilla.

Hi,

It seems as if Merc used 2 LSD
Sizes for their cars.

185mm and 210mm gear sets.

RennTech and AMG always use a
210mm LSD, which are good for
500/550 BHP.

If the 190 1.8-2.5 D 3.64 CW/p does not
fit the C36 LSD, then I am sure
that a 124 3.69 CW/p from a 220
will.

The Gorilla.

That's a result.

Have you considered the LSD spring blocks to increase the locking ratio?

Hi,

Bri957- The problem with the Spring Blocks
is that its a 'fix'.

I will have the diff ramp angles altered and
re-hardened, and see if the 'Ford' twin
clutch packs from the Atlas axle fit as they
do on an E30 BMW Diff.

Will set it at 50% and see how it goes from there.

The LSD from the C36 is 185mm gearset so
it is compatible with the 190/201 CW/p.

Makes many diff ratios available for a C36 slipper.

Nice thing about the C36 LSD is that its a
true LSD no ASD at under 19mph and all the
baggage that goes with it.

Regards,

The Gorilla.
