I'm seriously thinking about one of these, has anyone got something similar they can recommend? I've wanted a 'professional' rotary polisher for some time now but don't want to spend the earth. Loads of these things go for around 300 quid! |

I remember when it was discussed before the silverlines did come out as quite good quality for the money. I seem to remember there were 2 types, you can tell by the colour, and I cant remember which type was better. |

Id spend a bit more and get a DA polisher. Its cheaper than a respray. Rotary's arent for beginners and you run the risk of burn thru on edges, which the 190 has in droves. Sorry to sound blunt but i have witnessed this with this type of polisher and only have your wallet and car's intrests in mind. |

I have both a Porter Cable DA & a Makita Rotary. I've had the PC for 5 years & the Makita for 2, I've never used the PC since I bought the Rotary, I'd recommend a top quality rotary such as the Makita or Metabo, I wouldn't go for the ebay one. The rotary is no harder to use than the PC but you do need some practice. Get yourself some panels from the local scrappy and spend some time with the rotary & get the feel of it even down to burning the paint for the experience. |

Hmm what to do what to do....I really want a rotary as its the 'proper' tool for the job but don't want to destroy my shitty paint like I keep getting told. I think I'll just get one anyway, watch a few youtube videos and try my luck. |
