Hi,
Those two with the M registration are pretty rare, as they are registered in Munich (Moenchen), and they normally had BMWs', the other one with BB is for the Boblingen area which is in close proximity of Stuttgart,
In fact one of the MB factories is very close, The police in Germany normally were equiped with the cars that are produced in their area, eg, Bayern (Bavaria) used mainly BMW, Baden-Wurtemburg used mainly Mercs, Hessen mostly Opel and farther north Koeln Ford, and spread all over were the small transport was VW for unimportant jobs and Porsche for most of the Autobahn chase cars,
But I've got to say over thirty years in Germany I never saw a Merc with a Moenchener number on it.
Cheers Barrie.
