Great pics sorry to have missed it. few cars there that look familier from PPC. Loads of Jap stuff for Dave? Love the landy. (I'd quite like a chopped 3 door RR crossed wtih a TVR)and the Citroen DS was that original? Seems much bigger variety... |

Sadly that car is no more as he rolled it big time at the end of the day  . So i have read, he crossed the finish line at 124mph then lost the back end. He rolled it 4 times. He managed to get out and only suffered a scratch to one arm and a few bruises thankfully.

Better late than never.... My photo's from Retro! Chris and I arrive at the camping, next to Marcus's tent (aka Casa de' Marcus)...   Jap Show on the Saturday Once we set the tents up and had a quick beer, Clare and i went for a walk around the Jap show:    We also took in the drifting competition that was on:   Members Arrive By the time we got back from having a look around many more members had arrived:  No doubt drawn by the MASSIVE banner that Rich bought....  Andy's (AndyBoroFC) lovely 2.0:  MBZ 6's stunning one of a kind 280hp Barabus, 3.6 24V manual monster!   To the Stand! - Sunday Clare next to Steve's (merc190uk) most awesome Retro Special:  Andy's (aemt) spotless engine bay:  Robbie's Superb 16v DTM style this year... This looked truly awesome...  A very cool Evo 1:    Pauls lovely car, its got a smashing interior too:  Mark's very clean 2.0 carb:    Rhysmagnatmotorsport's very cool 16v:  My Sportline to the right, then Andys lovely 2.0:  And look at the shine on Andy's bonnet!    The Dealership!:  My Sportline, with lots of info i bought with me in the window:  Autotest I did the handling (autotest) circuit this year and it was great fun! Me about to drive into the arena!    Mark did a blinding lap:  Jeremy too:  Here are the Video clips Clare took of the Auto tests: Me in the 2.0 Sportline (best time of 26.36): Steve in his 2.3 16v (best time of 23.65): Jeremy in his 2.5 16v (best time of 24.63) It was fantastic fun, and i am definitely doing it again next year! These vids weren't of the best time laps, but one of the many attempts... After i finished the autotest, i parked up to watch more, and once Jeremy had finished he parked up... and hid...  I was well and truly boxed in   The Rest of Retro        I really like the E21's...   You dont see one of these everyday, a seriese one landrover, slammed, with drag tyres and a Rover V8 engine...  Jeremy about to go up the strip:  Many thanks for the cream tea Andy & Joy (left), Jilly, and Toff (far right) and everyone. it was very much needed! Note Andy and Toffs stunning cars...  Well thats it. I had a great time. Bad luck for Phil, but an enjoyable time for everyone. all the best Tim

The land rover is the car of the show for me. It really is lovely. I know a bloke with a Series I that he keeps uncovered, without a roof in his woods. It has been used for hunting there for at least 25 years and never fails to work. |

Very smooth indeed nick, we had previously been laughing at some estates going round, boating their way around, but were pleased to see how smooth you made it look. Very tight down the slalom bit. |

Well, here are a few of our pics, now we have our new computer up and running. Again, Retro was a blast, top cars and top people from the club. A pleasure to meet and talk to you all. Sadly we weren't feeling too well on the Saturday night so missed out on the homebrew type shenanigans this year. Mind you, probably just as well..... (get well soon Phil!) After the Saturday night downpour, we waited until the campsite was a bit less like a quagmire and moved towards the stand. It didn't take long to find!  The stand went on...  and on...  and on...  and on...  Blimey, what a turnout! Hats off! So, the ol' Brownmobile was given a quick shine up. (Was glad I had the rear quarter damage properly done and the parking dings taken out. The quality of 190s on the stand this year was outstanding. Toff's gorgeous 2.6, Andy's mint pre facelift, Martin's Brabus and a more beautiful Cossies than you could shake a stick at!)  (That's myself, Toff 190 and TimW in the pic for those who like to put names to faces!)  (Yep, for some reason, that's me doing strange "brum brum" invisible steering wheel actions!) More views of the stand....  (Boss man Steve's amazing bonnet art!)    (Oops! Sorry Hiten, looks like you didn't get out of shot quick enough! )       (This car is easily one of my faves, Tim's manual sportline. This car gets more original and mint every time I see it. Just lovely.)  (Whoops Tim, looks like the wife was lying when she said you wouldn't be in this shot! )We knew Robbie would come up with something special with TYW this year. He didn't disappoint....  But I wasn't prepared for the sight of Aaron's car! Superb!    This was very possibly the star of the stand for most of us, Martin's fantastic Brabus 3.6 24-valve engined monster. I had the pleasure of following this car all the way from Tibshelf to the Pod! A few members decided to have a go at the handling course.  Sadly this is as far as I got. Guess who forgot to bring his driving licence? Doh! So, it was up to Hot Fuzz in his mega tidy 'kitted '87 and Tim in his lovely sportline to fly the flag for the 8 valvers...       Great entertainment came from Jeremy and Steve in their Silver 16vs        Finally, some random photos of stuff that caught our eye. Personally if I could have gone home with the Le Mans Green Mk1 Escort GT on Lotus steels or the Orange Hillman Avenger Tiger, I'd have been a happy man...          This thing was unbelievable. About the size of a football pitch and pulled 11 second quarters!!!   So there we go , a top weekend. So much to see and drool over. Cheers to the missus for taking many of the pics.
